Guys and Dolls - a great night of entertainment

by TeaLadyNYC on 7/13/09Nederlander Theatre - New York

I would highly recommend this show!! It was fun, had a great set and my husband and I went away feeling fully entertained! The highlight of the night was the "Sit Down Your Rocking the Boat" number which ended on a side splittingly funny note... A good night for all :-) The only down side to the night was that it was freezing in the theatre. Don't forget to bring an extra layer!!

    Guys and Dolls excellent

by Floridadad on 7/13/09Nederlander Theatre - New York

Saw three shows with my 13 y/o daughter in May, Wicked, South Pacific, and Guys and Dolls. All were excellent, but Guys and Dolls was hands down our favorite. Too bad it's gone now.

Classy stars in Broadway Revival of Guy and Dolls

by BBgun on 7/13/09Nederlander Theatre - New York

Big name stars highlight the current revival of "Guys and Dolls". All of the featured performers gave excellant performances. When compared to the movie, it shines as as a funnier and more upbeat show. The highlight of the show was the "Sit Down You're Rocking the Boat" number sang by Nicely Nicely as seen on the Tony Awards program.. A dinner at the local Italian restaurant and the show made for an enjoyable trip to the city.

A GREAT revival of an enduring CLASSIC

by Bishoplane on 7/13/09Nederlander Theatre - New York

This is an extremely well cast and stage production of an enduring classic. The music is terrific and you will leave the theater singing the songs. It is also provides insight into a bygone time that will bring back memories or create new ones. Go see it!

    guys and dolls

by stellastar on 7/13/09Nederlander Theatre - New York

While the songs are unforgettable, this production did not provide anything new in terms of being valid at this moment in time. Dancing was fine, singing was fine but production never rose to greatness. Stayed traditional and average where it could have been outstanding due to the material.

    Thoroughly enjoyable

by DEFY on 7/13/09Nederlander Theatre - New York

I went in expecting something, based on the cast and was not disappointed. It was wonderful! I thought the woman who played Sarah Brown was a little stiff. Oliver Platt was great, but a little miscast.

GUYS AND DOLLS ROCK IN NEW YORK !!

by LITTLEJOE50 on 7/13/09Nederlander Theatre - New York

The Guys and Dolls performance in the Nederlander was the highlight of our summer trip to New York. What a treat bring us immediately back to those rouge times in NY. The theatre itself is so intimate and warming, perfection in ambiance. Perfectly cast and beautifully delivered.

Unforgettable: Guys and Dolls - that´s Broadway!

by EvaH on 7/13/09Nederlander Theatre - New York

We had booked the tickets from Germany and went there after a 3-weeks roadtrip at the westcoast. Guys and Dolls was the perfect closure of our journey and a real highlight - we simply loved it. For me that remake is done very well. The original so well written story, the funny and lovely realized scenes, the stage design, the wonderful music and especially the brilliant cast - all that made it unforgettable for us. I was thinking about seeing it a second time, until I get known it can´t be seen longer on Broadway. I only can say I have seen many musicals, but that one was simply the best. It´s real Broadway stuff and it embodies Broadway!

    DEAFENINGLY LOUD amplification!!!!!

by CMac on 7/13/09Nederlander Theatre - New York

The amplification for "Guys & Dolls" was EAR-SPLITINGLY LOUD (as is the case with so many New York musicals these days). I walked out (something I virtually never do) during the second act. Why bother putting on a musical when the amplification is cranked up so high that the lyrics are lost in thunderous noise and the voices seem to come out of the wall or top of the stage rather than the humans on stage?!

Guys and Dolls is absolutely delightful!

by keller on 7/13/09Nederlander Theatre - New York

An absolutely wonderful theatre experience. Number after number was just terrific! "Sit Down your Rockin the Boat" was worth the price of the ticket!. Five stars!!! Bravos and a standing "O" for the cast and production team!

by sinnombre on 7/12/09Nederlander Theatre - New York

From the set design to the engaging songs, we thoroughly enjoyed the show. The cast was terrific. It's been over a month and we are still peppering conversations with lines from the show. This was a great way to celebrate my daughter's graduation from college.
