Awesome performance! I love the work Yola and Gustavo Dudamel are doing with the children ♥
The YOLA musicians are inspiring, and Gustavo Dudamel's energy is warm and infectious.
Good music Good timing for kids Nice videos support Good director.
Delightful, energetic performance by talented youth orchestra, led by its charismatic conductor. Music interspersed with videos of young musicians sharing their experiences of creating beauty and meaning as part of this community, also of Dudamel creating an amusing scenario to give expression to Brahms "Huanagrian Dances."
Gustavo Dudamel is an inspiring humanitarian, who shares his gifts & extraordinary talent with grace, humility and love. Bravo. Thank you Mr. Dudamel for bringing hope, discipline and beauty to SO many.
The performance was incrdible. The youth that performed are extremely talented and it's great that a program like this exists, especially for inner city youth. I was pleasantlu surpised by the videos, which allowed a closer and personal look at some of the members of the orchestra. Bravo!
It was pretty great! I would have liked more tango performances than more classical music to have a nicce balance; Although, Dudamel was Excellent! But I was there more for the Tango. No offence Dudamel : ) Also, the Tango dancers could have use more colorful outfits vs. just black.
Perfect-Dudamel conducted a mixture of difficult new selections and some favorites. Angel Romero is a pleasure to watch/hear; planes passing overhead sometimes interfered w/music.
Exceptional performances by all from beginning to end! Couldn't be in a more beautiful location. The evening was perfection!
I love Piazzolla and as soon as I saw Adios Nonino in the program, I bought my ticket. It was also my first time at the Hollywood Bowl and what a wonderful venue that was! The atmosphere was incredible and the crowd was excellent. Besides, the last few songs had actual tango dancers and it made the performance even better!
Name of the event was misleading. I went to see and listen to Piazzola's music and to my surprise only the last three songs were related. Dancers were great!. As I said before not happy at all.
Only 25% (30 minutes)Tango, 75% something else! I was disappointed in that there was not enough Tango in this show
It doesn't get much better than Latin music under the stars with the brilliant Latin, Gustavo Dudamel, conducting.
Dudamel was having so much fun conducting this music; the guitarist was absolutely fantastic and the Piazolla dancers added va-va-voom to the ambience of the evening.
Just a fun, joyful night of tango, with incredible dancers on stage. No dancing in the aisles like the last tango night i went to here a couple of years ago, but still a lovely evening.
the conductor never said a word we never knew who was playing or what was happening next previous conductors talked to the public, introduced the performers, made you feel well, etc very disappointed!
The description of the event led my family and I to believe there was going to be actual tango and other latin genre music. It seemed more to be instrumental/classical music with a Spanish guitar thrown in. The quality of the music, however, was great. Dudamel conducted well. I don't know if this is customary, but he did not greet the audience nor introduced the concert before he began, so it was an awkward start to the evening.
I loved the program Tango Under the Stars. The selected pieces were wonderful. The guitar player and his colorful shirt added spice to the white toxidos of the orchestra. Legendary Lalo Shifrin came on the stage. The tango dancers and their elegant dresses were mesmerizing. What a beautiful night.
We were very impressed with Lang Lang's talent, can't wait to see him again. Rimski-Korsakov's Scheherezade is a wonderful choice to showcase the incredible talent of the musicians, sadly Dudamel was not his brilliant self this time.
Awesome concert! Loved how Gustavo Dudamel conducted the orchestra
