About

GROUPLOVE IN CONCERT:

Grouplove's feel-good live shows make a strong case for a literal reading of the band's name. Featuring passionate performances, upbeat indie anthems, and audience participation, the band's shows are collective experiences that satisfy both musically and emotionally. Propelled by the group's accessible indie pop songwriting, 2013 sophomore album Spreading Rumors landed at No. 21 on the Billboard 2013, building excitement for their 2014 tour dates with supporting acts MS MR and Alex Winston.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Grouplove's formation reads like the plot of a '60s free love coming-of-age story. One week after making each others' acquaintance in New York's Lower East Side, vocalist Hannah Hooper and guitarist/vocalist Christian Zucconi left town for an artist retreat in Crete, where they met the band's three additional members Andrew Wessen, Ryan Rabin, and Sean Gadd. After performing their first show in LA in 2010, the band was invited on tour with Florence and the Machine, generating significant buzz in advance of their 2011 full-length debut Never Trust a Happy Song. On the ensuing international headlining tour, the band honed their performance skills and developed the sound heard on acclaimed 2013 follow-up album Spreading Rumors.

So much energy in this group! I can tell they are gonna go places and if they ever come back I will go see them again! Family of the Year was alright but nothing to get too crazy about when compared to Grouplove. Loved the show!

I already knew I loved their music but seeing them live made me know they're going to be a huge band. They put on an incredible show and not only should people be buying their album, "Never Trust A Happy Song" but the next time you get a chance to see them in person, DO IT! An unbelievably fun night.

    Great Show

by MikeCA on 10/15/11Masquerade - Atlanta

Grouplove is an "indie" band that is going to transcend this label make to the big time, a la Phoenix. The show was amazing. Great songs, great performance, great vibe. Every one in the band holds themself like a rockstar.

    Grouplove was Energetic!!!

by FrankTheRabbit on 9/27/11Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

The day my wife & I saw the show was the bands album release. The band rocked the Bowery Ballrooms small stage with an energetic set. Although the band is made up of an eclectic group of people they played a tight set. The only disappointment I had was the disappointing assortment of t-shirts to choose from. I don't understand why such an artsy band didn't come up with a better selection. I wish they would have put the artwork they have on their drums or the large poster of the girl on a tee.

Grouplove's Preformance was good, venue was not.

by Rmac93 on 9/18/11Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

The show grouplove put on was great, I would recommend them to anyone, but the venue seemed to just be an excuse for tons of people to get really drunk and annoying. I prefer my music to be about my music, not getting fucked up and causing problems with those around me.

by DoleFace on 9/16/11Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

The Grouplove/Young Man show at Bowery Ballroom was awesome. Grouplove came out with a ton of love and appreciation for being in NYC for their album release party night. They were loving the crowd and the crowd loved them back. They sounded great and the venue wasn't too crowded - everyone was dancing and smiling. Definitely would see them again wherever they go.

    Amazing new band

by MattNYC on 9/16/11Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

With a packed house supporting their first album they didn't disappoint. They are the rare band that is awesome in a small venue that I can picture holding their own in a much bigger one. See them in the clubs before they're playing the arenas - you won't be sorry.
