Gretchen Wilson made headlines as a country star when her debut single “Redneck Woman” reached the top of the country singles chart. She was the first country artist to do that in years, and her single was the quickest to reach No. 1 in decades. Wilson’s country twang, sassy attitude and deep, soulful vocals draw fans to her concerts and tours, and the honesty in songs like “Redneck Woman” are her ticket to superstardom. Wilson’s most recent release, on her own record label (Redneck), is Christmas in My Heart – the last of three released in 2013, which include Right on Time and Under the Covers as the first two.
Wilson had a rough upbringing in rural Illinois, but she credits her girlhood with instilling in her the tough and strong attitude that makes her so popular with fans. At the age of 15, Wilson was discovered singing in bars and joined her first band, Sam-A-Lama. While “Redneck Woman” shot to the top of the charts and also earned her a 2004 Grammy Award, Wilson has released other successful tunes, like 2004’s “Here for the Party,” which reached the No. 3 spot on the Country Singles chart and the No. 39 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, and 2005’s “Homewrecker,” which reached No. 2 on the Country Singles chart and No. 42 on the Billboard Hot 100. Wilson has come into her own as the head of her own label, and with the three new records she put out in 2013, she has proven that she remains a strong, powerful presence in the country music industry.

One of the best performers I have ever seen, thank you!
I just think Gretchen is absolutely AWESOME!. I have seen her everytime she has come here or anywhere near here.
It was an awsome show!!!! What else do i need to say! Gretchen is Gretchen!
I expected more detail from the musicians i.e. precise skill and excellence in playing. They were average and far from exceptional. The drummer was above average and carried the music. I was disappointed that Gretchen had to use other artist's songs as she has enough of her own to carry a concert. She did a nice job on the songs however, I paid top dollar for excellent seats to hear Gretchen's music. I was essentially bored after 70 minutes and left. My date had enough after 45 minutes but stayed for my sake. The tribute to the military need alot of work. I was embarrassed by the display. It was great that she took a moment to sign a shirt for one of our troops in Iraq. Overall, the concert is worth going to once but long-term, the show (singing, band, expertise) needs alot of work, otherwise I'm not interested in a repeat. On the way out, there was a mom and her teenage daughter watching from outside the gate. They were extatic that I gave them my tickets. Watching the excitment on the teenager's face made the whole night!
Great venue, front row seats were the best. Gretchen Wilson was right in front of us. I hope she comes back next year. Great show.
The strob light show was horrible, it was blinding and gave you a headache
Gretchen Wilson and the entire band was amazing!! She has such a natural way of connecting with the audience and she is incredibly talented. Her voice has depth and heart. I can't wait to see her again. I brought a friend that never listens to country and she plans on buying her new album. Props to you Gretchen and thanks for a great night of total enjoyment!
Gretchen Wilson knows how to put on a show!! All her songs were great and the band was great as well. Though i wish she would have done more of her new album stuff I think that the show was all together awesome!!!
The crowd was near a full hoiuse, all expecting another enjoyable performance of favorites including :Red Neck Woman." We got that, and a couple of oldies and goodies, but most of the material was new and unfamiliar to the concert goers. The volume was extremely high, painfully high. The accoustics were poor enough that it was hard to distinguish and recognize any words of most of the offerings, and even concert ear plugs did little to muffle the uncomfortable sound level. It may have been a great performance by Wilson. I don't know: my attempt to not be deafened by the decibel level made it impossible for me to enjoy.
Gretchen Wilson has a really great voice with more range that I expected. Good connection with the audience. The only down check for the evening was the house sound system. It made the band sound muddy. Think about how music sounds when a car pulls up to you at the stop light with subwoofers. This could be a problem with the guy running the sound board, because I heard another band a couple of weeks ago at the same venu, and they didn't have this problem. To recap, the performer is great, and she has a really good band.
Concert was fabulous! Gretchen can belt out a tune like no other. She was interactive with the crowd. The band was the best I have seen in years.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Show. Ms. Wilson embraced the crowd, and the crowd embraced her. New songs greatly enchanced the show from a new album to be released about October/November. Music ranged from Gretchen Wilson standards to Foreigner. Very nice tribute to the U.S. Military. I would highly recommend this show to anyone who is a little bit rock and roll, and a little bit country redneck.
WOW! What a show! We were singing along from the very first song! I am SO glad she is coming out with a new album this Fall - it will be great to hear her rockin' once again Keep it u, Gretchen!!
She put on a fantastic show!! Great song choices and knows how to rock the audience! Her band was excellent and her voice was strong and fabulous!
I was in the VIP section and it was awesome to be so close to Gretchen. Her new songs rock and she put her heart and soul into her performance. She is so down to earth that she just seems like a friend that happens to be singing on stage. I just wish I could have had a swig out of the JD bottle. I have seen her in concert and this was definitely her best performance. I can't wait until she comes back! I was so close to stage that it is disappointing that the Emerald Queen doesn't allow photography.
Concerts at Wente combine great wine, food and music. This was no exception. A bit pricey due to the small venue but Gretchen was worth it!
Once again, FANTASTIC, energetic, dynamic performance by GT! The setting was fabulous also. Small, quaint, personal, great sound, atmosphere was beautiful. Would recommend the dinner/concert package (we didn't do this but will next time). Gretchen, you were AWESOME!!!!! If you enjoy country western with some rock n' roll, you MUST see Gretchen in action. It is definitely worth the price of a ticket! Beautiful voice, carries a note, energetic, and appears to love what she does. Her band is very talented and young! The vineyard was tastefully done and the people who worked there were ALL very friendly, helpful, and genuine in their concern for their patrons.
Gretchen was amazing! She rocked the house with her oldies! She also played some of her new songs and I can't wait to get them. She is a beautiful lady and her voice is amazing because she sings Country & Rock n Roll like no other. DYNAMITE Our seats were the only disappointing thing about the evening, front row in front of the speakers with partial view of the stage.
I have been a fan of Gretchens from ther begining, she just keeps getting better.
Had an unbelieveable night at Wente. I'm not much of a country music fan, so I went with the expectation that I'd see a performance at a really cool venue. I'm now beginning to rethink my music taste. Gretchen Wilson gave 90 full minutes of pure entertainment! I'm sure the audience at a winery is far different than what she is used to, but she put on a show that left me wanting to buy a concert t-shirt and her cd's. Loved her cover of "Barracuda". Had tears in my eyes when she did the tribute to the military.
