Gretchen Wilson made headlines as a country star when her debut single “Redneck Woman” reached the top of the country singles chart. She was the first country artist to do that in years, and her single was the quickest to reach No. 1 in decades. Wilson’s country twang, sassy attitude and deep, soulful vocals draw fans to her concerts and tours, and the honesty in songs like “Redneck Woman” are her ticket to superstardom. Wilson’s most recent release, on her own record label (Redneck), is Christmas in My Heart – the last of three released in 2013, which include Right on Time and Under the Covers as the first two.
Wilson had a rough upbringing in rural Illinois, but she credits her girlhood with instilling in her the tough and strong attitude that makes her so popular with fans. At the age of 15, Wilson was discovered singing in bars and joined her first band, Sam-A-Lama. While “Redneck Woman” shot to the top of the charts and also earned her a 2004 Grammy Award, Wilson has released other successful tunes, like 2004’s “Here for the Party,” which reached the No. 3 spot on the Country Singles chart and the No. 39 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, and 2005’s “Homewrecker,” which reached No. 2 on the Country Singles chart and No. 42 on the Billboard Hot 100. Wilson has come into her own as the head of her own label, and with the three new records she put out in 2013, she has proven that she remains a strong, powerful presence in the country music industry.

Was a great show. She played songs from her new album and lots of fan favorites. She was loud, sounded great and was having a really wonderful time interacting with the audience.
If you love the new country music.....you'll love Gretchen. She rocks. Her band was very tight and she sounds great...WHAT A VOICE. I would love to see her do a show with either Toby Keith, Montgomery/Gentry or Jason Alden. She is a walking party
Gretchen really knows how to excite the crowd. She is the "Wow" factor in country music. What a great benefit program. It's great to see "real people" on stage helping a worthy cause. She is deep down a Redneck Woman with HEART. Great show Gretchen you are a winner in my book.
What a great event. The entertainment and venue were perfect for such a nice charity event. Gretchen Wilson was awesome, she played several off her new album that is coming out 3/30! This event was a GREAT value!

Gretchen was awesome!! She sounds just like she does on her CDs. Everyone was partying and having a great time! I hope she comes back to Columbus. I would love to see her again! Can't wait to get her new album!!!!!!
My sister and I had a real good time. We hadn't gotten together for a while to do anything by ourselves. What better thing to do than to go see Gretchen. I would like to see her again but in an area that has more space. Very good live. That's a real plus.

We waited 4 hours to see the show and it was worth the wait!! Gretchen rocked! the band rocked!! Loved the new songs and cant wait for the cd to come out on her own label. I appreciate the tribute to our troops as I have a son getting ready to leave for Afghanistan. GO USA! and Gretchen...YOU GO GIRL!!! Thanks for coming to Columbus!!
Gretchens show is always good but we have seen her so many times in the last year it seems to be the same basic show, we would like to hear more of her past songs along with her new . She had a play list of only 13 seams to short. Her band can be a show stopper with the old ROCK SONGS it would be great to hear Gretchen sing some of those. The columbus venue was lousy, no seating , at times the sound system was bad , the over head screens were of poor quality and one did not even work.
I have been to a lot of country concerts in big venues and the show that Gretchen Wilson put on rivals some of the best. She rocked when she wanted to rock and she showed how traditional country was done also. i cant wait to get her new Album "got your country right here". Just an amazing show and performance.
gretchen was great had good time even though my car broke down about a mile from there . still got there by cab and a tow truck and was rewarded by a great show

My husband and I tood my 80 year old grandfather to the concert. He got to meet her and have his picture taken. He has dreamed of this day for years. She was so sweet and down to earth. He is a die hard fan, to the point that his ring tone on his phone is "HERE FOR THE PARTY". Everyone at Screamin Willies was amazing!! Thank you VERY much to Melanie who made my grandpas dream come true. We couldnt have had a better time.
Was a great show. Alot of smoke in bar need to work on exhaust system.
Very entertaining atmosphere; inside temperature way too hot and parking terrible.
Love Gretchen and saw her live in Vegas 2 years ago and was blown away. But Sat at Screaming Willies was a serious disappointment. Doors opened at 6 and Gretchen didn't come on till just about 10. Venue was grossly oversold and so stood for 4 hrs waiting. It was difficult to hear her or to see her as we had to stand on the floor. In a bar so too may people used the 4 hr wait to get stupidly drunk and obnoxious. People were shoving and standing on sidewalls falling into other folks and took away almost all of the good mood of our "girls night out" to see Gretchen. Local opening band was really good but 2nd band was either having a really bad night or just are not that good. By the time Gretchen came on people were getting to the point of seriously drunk fights and arguments. She only played for just over an hour which was also a disappointment. May just be a bad venue.
First time we had been to 8 Second Saloon. What a great place to watch a concert. Gretchen put on a great show. One of the best concerts I have been too! Can't wait to go back and see another one!
Went to see Gretchen Wilson at Screamin' Willies this Saturday. Sounded good however the show was WAY TOO SHORT for the cost of the ticket and Willies should consider investing in some type of ventilation and/or fans to keep the crowd cool during shows! Was extremely hot and uncomfortable considering the size of Willies but the music was good and getting beer wasn't too long of a wait.
