About

Gretchen Wilson made headlines as a country star when her debut single “Redneck Woman” reached the top of the country singles chart. She was the first country artist to do that in years, and her single was the quickest to reach No. 1 in decades. Wilson’s country twang, sassy attitude and deep, soulful vocals draw fans to her concerts and tours, and the honesty in songs like “Redneck Woman” are her ticket to superstardom. Wilson’s most recent release, on her own record label (Redneck), is Christmas in My Heart – the last of three released in 2013, which include Right on Time and Under the Covers as the first two.

Wilson had a rough upbringing in rural Illinois, but she credits her girlhood with instilling in her the tough and strong attitude that makes her so popular with fans. At the age of 15, Wilson was discovered singing in bars and joined her first band, Sam-A-Lama. While “Redneck Woman” shot to the top of the charts and also earned her a 2004 Grammy Award, Wilson has released other successful tunes, like 2004’s “Here for the Party,” which reached the No. 3 spot on the Country Singles chart and the No. 39 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, and 2005’s “Homewrecker,” which reached No. 2 on the Country Singles chart and No. 42 on the Billboard Hot 100. Wilson has come into her own as the head of her own label, and with the three new records she put out in 2013, she has proven that she remains a strong, powerful presence in the country music industry.

  • Grechen Wilson was Amazing

    by Haledamage on 3/14/10Billy Bob's - Fort WorthRating: 5 out of 5

WOW - what an amazing talent and what an amazing band...Gretchen and her band have a quality talent that is hard to find these days...Each member of the band has obviously spent the time that it takes to completely master their instrument. Gretchen has a natural talent that comes from above and cannot be taught... I'm satisfied beyond words at the evening I spent at Billy Bob's TX watching this band.... I would say to anyone reading this post, if you get the PREVILEDGE to see Gretchen Wilson - don't hesitate - you will be amazed..

I totally loved the show, even being at a small place like Billy Bobs Stage she put on a great show from new songs not yet out, to everyones favorites. Would see her again in a heartbeat.

Her new direction into country rock is terrific. The girl can perform!

  • Disappointed

    by music99 on 3/13/10Grove of Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 2 out of 5

Hadn't seen her live before, love her music on the radio. She seemed disconnected from the audience and more into selling her new album (love the new song) and letting you know she has her own label. Didn't care for Sharee, new girl (back up singer) that did a solo of an OLD song, maybe in time her voice will develop (the song didn't "fit" the mood of the evening). Loved Bomshel, the highligt of the night! Meet and greet was hurried, no autographs, and Gretchen wasn't personable (I am sure she was tired and just wanted to leave). Overall disappointed.

  • Gretchen Worked Hard and Played Harder!!!

by notstella on 3/12/10Grove of Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

For those who don't know her, I can only say you're missing a great show. Regardless of your preference of music, Gretchen Wilson's lyrics, vocals and style are a blend of Country and Rock n Roll. Her concert jammed from start to end; from "Here for the Party" to "All Jacked Up" along with new songs from her upcoming album it was a great concert and performance. And how often do you see Jack Daniels make an appearance onstage? Ok so he didn't stay long ...but I did until the bitter end and I'd do it again if given the opportunity. She is one of a kind and not to be compared to closely to her counterparts. Cause this "Redneck Woman" is after all just one of us, but with one helluva voice!!

  • Gretchen rednecked it out

  • Everything a Mom could hope for!

by hisfirstconcertMom on 3/11/10Grove of Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

This was my 13-year-old son's first concert. It was excellent, and everything a mom could hope for! Gretchen Wilson's vocals were strong, clear, and full of character. The instrumentals were a delight, and the band's sound was well-balanced. There was good cameraderie between band members, and Gretchen established a great rapport with the audience. The band members were clean-cut, and there was a good social message: honor your country, work hard, and don't drink when you're all jacked up! As I stood in the Front Tier watching Gretchen Wilson, and watching my son watching her, I thought to myself: I am so blessed that my son likes the music of women who wear jeans and tee-shirts, rather than some goofy outfit that looks like their grandmother's foundation undergarments! Thank you, Gretchen Wilson, for an unforgettable concert.

  • She ROCKS!!!!!

Gretchen goes to the top of my list for country female entertainers. She is definitely the queen of country rock. Her voice sounded great and she really put on a great show. Plus she looks great in them tight jeans.

I am excited for her new album coming out on the 30th! I also loved truly experiencing how she is in real life (as close as it would resemble)...she kicks butt! Got a T-shirt, danced and didn't get into a fight with my husband...BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!

  • First Female Southern Rock Artist sense "70"

by CrazyPaul on 3/11/10Grove of Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

With the tier 1 VIP , Meet and Greet tickets I was very happy for the 50th dollars price per. I brought my 75 year old mother with me , so when we got in to the Grove was happy to see that they put in seats in tier 2 - 4 so my mother could sit most of the show. And I was front row pit to got about 250 great photos and got to see that sassy Redneck Woman up close. Gretchen is the only county artist I listen to because I grew up on southern rock of the "70"

  • Gretchen's the girl

by QuackityQuack on 3/11/10Grove of Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the show. Her new material is totally Gretchen, just like she said. It took awhile for her to get "I Got Your Country Right Here" to us, but the wait is worth it. I will be buying her CD on the 30th. We had the VIP tickets and got to attend the meet and greet after the show. She really seemed to appreciate her fans being there. During the show she said she was glad she is in a place now, with her own record label, to carry on the Musik Mafia tradition. The show was also a fundraiser for a great cause, and I even got lucky and won a package I bid on. Kudos all around to Gretchen!

Gretchen Wilson was a great performer. She captured the audience. Her energy was fantastic from the time she entered the stage till the time she left. One of the best shows i have seen! There was a bit of everything for everyone. Loved the montage of classic rock and roll.
