Great way to spend a weekend with family definitely worth the experience. A must
If you're into anime tv shows comics or just seeing and meet friendly cool people grand rapids comic con is definitely where it's at I have never had so much fun
Grand Rapids Comic Con was such a fun experience! The staff was friendly and the venue was big enough for everything to have room. I had a blast! It’s a great location with lots of parking available nearby (albeit the parking can be pricey), but that’s not the venue’s choice. I dressed up in costume, as did 80% of the con-goers.
2019 was my family and I's first time attending GRCC and we had such an amazing time we are already planning for next year. An amazing and welcoming atmosphere full of all kinds of incredible cosplayers and delightful vendors. Our only complaint was the cost of parking, $66 for the three days seems excessive after purchasing 5 three day passes. Regardless we will return every year if possible.
Very busy, but enjoyed the event very much. Will be going next year!
Enjoyed the day, dealers were great and pricing was good. Wish the aisles could be wider and more food options.
Easy entry, lack of coat check was a disappointment but my cosplay was warm. Good layout, easy to get around and find everything. Cosplay contest was epic. The amount of great vendors and cosplayers was awesome. A few more food choices would've been nice. I had a great time!
We love this show. Easy parking, easy entry, friendly people, organized!
Well attended, probably about to outgrow the space they are in. They had a good array of vendors and engaging guests
super fun, very good guest choice and super cool event in general.
The 2019 one was better than 2018 to my knowledge. They seem to be getting better at running the event. Definitely can't wait for next year.
I always enjoy visiting the Grand Rapids Comic Con. Great variety of vendors, excellent VIP prices and rewards. Friendly, Fun, Safe, & Positive Experience. 2019: Meeting Bulk & Skull Made My Life!!!
I timed my schedule for Saturday to see a specific panel at 3:30. I had checked the printed schedule and gone to check the room signage ahead of time to verify the time/panel information. Despite all that, the panel times were apparently flipped, resulting in my arriving (late) to a panel I hadn't planned to attend and having already missed the one I really wanted. Really poor planning also to have all the panels on Saturday at nearly the same time so if you wanted to see several, you really couldn't. Suggestion would be to spread the panels out over a wider time span to enable us to see more if them.
I love going to comicons but this one felt a little lackluster. I went to this event last year and they had much cooler guest stars and celebrity’s there. The Monroe Room is super hard to find, and there wasn’t signs or directions to get to it. The main cosplay contest was very fun to watch but it felt unorganized. Could have used a rehearsal to get rid of the kinks.
I thought the convention was really great. However, I do have some complaints. I brought along a prop that cost $300 and security put orange tape on both ends. This caused some of the paint to come off which means I have to fix that. I understand that they need to do that for protection, but the convention should highly consider that cosplayers are bringing in expensive props and sometimes it doesn't make sense to put the tape on them if they cost a lot to make. On Sunday, one of my friends who is in the Rebel Legion was stopped because she had a lightsaber with metal on it, and several people had to argue with security because she was a member and was allowed to bring it inside. I feel like security needs to be debriefed every day on what is allowed and what isn't, especially if that person is a member of Rebel Legion or 501st. Because of that, I have to give this convention four stars but hopefully next year things can be improved. I understand safety is a concern but some people need to be briefed on how to handle it. It would be better if they could put an orange wristband on us saying they checked our prop, rather than putting it directly on the prop which could ruin it. Just a thought.
This was very fun there were overwatch and family guy voice caters from the show there and they have popular celebrities there I’m gonna say is this was a very fun are you think you should go next year
