Not at the level I expected

by Sadgirl on 11/16/22DeVos Place - Grand Rapids

I don't feel the event lived up to the hype of " Comicon".

    Pricey

by Peezy on 11/16/22DeVos Place - Grand Rapids

Ive been wanting to goto Comicon for forever, this was my first time there and I was rather disappointed, $40 to enter an overpriced store, definitely some people doing great cosplay but that was the highlight, the cosplayers, probably wont go again

A Very Fun First Comic Con

by Leah on 11/15/22DeVos Place - Grand Rapids

It's small, but not too small and its packed to the gills with stuff everyone can enjoy. The planned events didn't quite pique my interest but the selection of artists that attended were fantastic! It was so fun talking with all sorts of creators and supporting them if possible. This is something I will most certainly attend next year.

    Lots to Do

by JS on 11/15/22DeVos Place - Grand Rapids

Puzzle Box Scavenger hunt was a blast, had no idea going in, ended up doing puzzles for 5 hours on Saturday. Hado was a blast, All of the Friday the 13th actors there at once was pretty cool. Here's hoping this continues to grow, and pulls more top end talent. Some of the content does seem to be the same every year, as far as attending cosplay groups and pop culture vehicles for photo ops.

    Not Happy

by Arwen81 on 11/15/22DeVos Place - Grand Rapids

Birthday present for my boyfriend. Drove 2 hours to get there and couldn't find a place to park, lines were so long and not moving when we drove by, and we were stuck in traffic for over a hour trying to find a place to park. All the parking garages were full and people were driving like idiots. So we decided to go home. Pictures look nice that are posted on facebook. If we decide to try again we will stay the night before at a hotel close and walk. But more than likely we wont be back.

    X-Cellent X-Perience

by the_ultimate_xman on 11/14/22DeVos Place - Grand Rapids

My main reason for going to the show was to meet the cast, writers, producer of X-Men The Animated Series. It was a wonderful and memorable experience. All of them were wonderful, the panels they led were X-cellent. It was fantastic to listen to their stories but also the Q&A with fans was especially powerful, learning how much of an impact the animated series has made on so many people, all in positive ways. I am an X-Men toy and comic collector, I found quite a bit of comics to fill some holes in my collection, not as many toy vendors as I was hoping for. My son found some really cool books and art and had a great time speaking with some authors. Overall, a great time, thank you!!

    We survived

by EmmaCritique on 11/18/21DeVos Place - Grand Rapids

This was the first time my family had ever gone to a Comic-Con event. We did not dress up. We showed proof of our tickets, and that did not take long at all. Once we got into the main hallway, we proceeded to the area where all the vendors were. We stopped out for just a second to regroup and went back in. We were wearing our wristbands but they were not visible under our jackets. One of the ladies watching the door was yelling at my son, and we just ignored her. We could not have gotten to that part of the building without having gone through their checkpoint anyway, so we didn’t think anything of it. She said nothing at all to me but said something to one of my family members. I think she singled that person out just because they were wearing a hood. My partner just told her that we were all together and had already paid and she did not ask another question. I was relieved that was the end of it but it still it was annoying to have her single out the one special needs person in the group! I also found it very interesting that there was no mask requirement and no vaccine requirement despite Michigan being number one in daily cases. This is irresponsible for the unvaccinated.

    as promised

by TANK on 11/17/21DeVos Place - Grand Rapids

Everyone I wanted to meet at this show was there. One voice actor and two artists had STAR WARS credits. The inability to print tickets is ludicrous. A disaster waiting to happen. Neither Grand Rapids show this year had any way to access a bathroom when waiting before clearing security. At Summer Bash I peed behind someone's truck. Anticipating you would do it again, I just came late to the November show.

    Amazing Experience

by Lcn on 11/16/21DeVos Place - Grand Rapids

This was my first time going to grand rapids comic con, in fact, it was my first time ever attending any sort of convention and I absolutely loved it. Just being around people that you share a passion for is amazing, and the friendship between everyone is great. I was having a conversation with my friend and we were right next to a vendor, and he just joined in and we had a nice talk about Star Wars and collecting. I am 100% going again next year.

    Comic con 21

by Heather on 11/16/21DeVos Place - Grand Rapids

The November Comic-Con was great! The kids had a blast seeing all the booths and what they had to offer. They can't wait to ho again!! On that note the only problem I had was getting my tickets from will call, I went back and forth between the people selling tickets and the VIP area because nobody was sure where I should go. Hopefully I don't have this problem for next time
