  • Amazing time!

by Anthony on 11/19/24DeVos Place - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

This was my third time attending grand rapids comic con and it gets better every year. The guests were awesome and very friendly. Not to much time waiting in lines for autographs. Got six done in 2 hours and had plenty of time to walk the showroom floor. Lots of vendors with unique items . Even a few with food ,like gourmet marshmallows and fudge. Very organized and clean not too crowded but a few isles were kinda cramped. Overall definitely worth the time and money.

  • Small & Mediocre

    by DeeJaye6 on 11/19/24DeVos Place - Grand RapidsRating: 3 out of 5

While there were a couple stars there (Chris Sarandon, Danny Trejo, a couple Star Trek actors, a bunch of voice actors), the real draw seemed to be The Critical Drinker with Gary from Nerdrotic. Sadly, as great as it was seeing and talking with them, the whole event was... well, small. Oh, there were displays of fan-made props and costumes, and vendors, too. But overall, the whole thing could be experienced in one day (except for the Harp Twins two open concerts, Friday and Saturday).

  • Too expensive for what it is

by Aballard on 11/19/24DeVos Place - Grand RapidsRating: 1 out of 5

Ticket prices are too expensive for what it is. Almost $50 for an adult just to be able to go in and spend more money on everything else. Literally nothing to do but spend money here after entry.

  • They left the comic out of Comic Con

by Sharikov on 11/19/24DeVos Place - Grand RapidsRating: 2 out of 5

Too few dealers were actually dealing in comics. Small selection. The aisles are too narrow. It was underwhelming overall and was not worth the price of admission this year.

  • What a great event!!!

by cafries on 11/18/24DeVos Place - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

I was able to go to the G.R. Comic-Con with my son, and his Family. It was a great experience for all of us. I had the VIP experience, and the check-in was really easy, however I did have to wait on a lanyard for my VIP tag. Once inside the venue, we were treated to the G.R. Symphony playing selections from Star Wars, Harry Potter and other appropriate songs. IT WAS AWESOME!!! The vendors, and the Media Guests were very accessible and friendly. The support staff was very helpful, and they were able to answer any questions, that I had. It was also fun to see all the Cos Play participants, they were very interactive with my grandchildren, it was fun to observe the interactions. Some of these participants were so good in their characterizations. On Sunday, we were able to attend some of the panel discussions, I really enjoyed these discussions very much!!! If I had an issue, it was the lack of seating available for lunch. On Saturday, our entire party, as well as other parties had to sit on the floor to eat their lunches. I am in my sixties, and I was lucky because my son was able to grab an empty chair for me to sit on. Overall, I really enjoyed the G.R. Comic-Con and it is my hope to attend the 2025 Spring Fling in Kalamazoo!!!

  • No t-shirts, but no problem

by Too Much Soda Boy on 11/18/24DeVos Place - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

Could’ve had more t-shirt & poster vendors, but it was still good fun.

  • Fun. Except...

We had a great experience. Lost track of time. Did not get autographs we wanted since they were out of our price range.

  • Best con so far

by DJ on 11/26/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I’ve been attending cons since 2018 roughly and this is definitely by far my favorite. It’s close to where I live, the staffs amazing and helpful, granted it is cramped and on a busy road but they worked amazingly with what space they have. They also had amazing celebrities and voice actors show up. I could go on for hours at how awesome this place is. Definitely recommend going if your in the area or coming once to see it. I have friends that’s all the way in New Jersey that comes to attend this con so 10/10 for me!

  • Amazing Experience

    by ninjinturdle7 on 11/14/23DeVos Place - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

Been coming since 2015 & this was maybe the best time! This was the quickest entry by far, thanks to Ticket Master. There was an '89 BATMOBILE, plenty of art for sale, toys, cosplayer, beautiful lego cities & of course, ME!

  • Awesome Experience

by Mark B on 11/12/23DeVos Place - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

Me and the kids had a total blast. All of us got something unique and fun out of it. I will be going again in the future and I hope to make it a family tradition each year. 😊

  • Great experience but room to grow

by The chauffeur/bank on 11/10/23DeVos Place - Grand RapidsRating: 3 out of 5

This was a lot of fun this year because my sons idol, Tom Kenny, was in the house. He was great. The Comicon staff was also great. Had some issues with the pre-bought tickets but got those figured out. When the lines began to get longer and longer, they jumped in for solutions. Here’s where the improvements should be. As you did for the Tom Kenny line, you should have a designated line area for the food areas. That got congested and caused traffic issues. Also, while you had accommodations for physical disabilities in the rules, there was nothing for neurological disabilities. For some, a 2+ hour wait in a very congested line can be troublesome. If you can think of a way to accommodate people with autism without making it look like a VIP, that would be great. One of our group was very close to leaving before getting a signature until we talked with a couple of Con workers that did help us. (We also had a pregnant person that was graciously escorted to the bathrooms while her party waited for her and thought that was great and personable) But something official that is in the information section would be greatly valued. Outside of that, the Con was a lot of fun! Keep getting great guests and we’ll be there!

  • Grandrapids comic con review

by Fatboy on 11/9/23DeVos Place - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

The comic con was great although the VIP dance could have have a better DJ he couldn’t keep the crowd dancing . Also you need to advertise the dance as a family dance my teenage grand daughter was the only teenager there . And it was an amazing experience for us . She would have had more fun with other kids. It was hard to find on the site to see if it was a family event . We couldn’t find any info on the dance

  • Fabulous time at Comicon

by Tom the comic book guy on 11/9/23DeVos Place - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

The whole experience was fabulous! Tickets worked without a hitch. The panels were cool. Joel Paauwe moderated the Arcane panel and it was truly enjoyable! I was looking for specific comic books and found most of them. The fenders were really neat people and very helpful. All in all it was the best one I’ve attended.

  • Will not be returning

    by Kryptik99 on 11/8/23DeVos Place - Grand RapidsRating: 2 out of 5

First off anyone who reads this need to figure in parking for said event comic con made no mention of this anywhere 2)over glorified cosplay nothing more. The only good thing I got out of this was meeting the harptwins and the volfgang twins 3) if your not prepared it is extremely overwhelming not for autistic kids or those who have social issues thier idea of a quiet room was clear up on another level of the conference hall what a joke. That it was not easily accessible should have been on the first floor.

  • Super Girl

    by www.youaremysunshineluv.com on 11/8/23DeVos Place - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

I had such a fun time and wonderful experience! Enjoyed meeting photographer's, and Bill Farmer and the Harp Girl Twins and Wolf Gang Brothers! It was so much fun seeing my favorite TV shows and movies with people in their costumes too under one roof! I enjoyed dressing up as Super Girl also! Plan to go next time it's in town!
