About

Graham Nash in Concert

Graham Nash's long and tuneful career includes his singing with the Hollies' bright British folk-pop, the tightly harmonized classic folk-rock of Crosby, Stills & Nash (& Young), and his own deeply personal singer-songwriter albums.

Born in 1942 in war-scarred northern England, Nash was always on a high, at least vocally. He began singing airy tenor harmonies as a teenager alongside school friend Allan Clarke, and the pair co-founded the Hollies named after Texas rocker Buddy Holly in 1962. Nash-Clarke creations such as "On a Carousel," "Bus Stop," and "Jennifer Eccles" are just a few of the Merseybeat combo's more than 30 charting singles.

Following a life-changing evening of music at soon-to-be-girlfriend Joni Mitchell's Hollywood Hills home in 1968, Nash left everything behind to cast his fate with former Byrds member David Crosby and former Buffalo Springfield member Stephen Stills as Crosby, Stills & Nash. Nash's "Marrakesh Express" and "Lady of the Island," an ode to Mitchell, made the supergroup's 1969 debut album an American folk-rock classic.

The trio wouldn't record another album until 1977's CSN. Nash found a creative outlet in the luminous Songs for Beginners, the first of several solo albums, and Graham Nash David Crosby, which launched the duo's productive longtime partnership onstage and in the studio.

Nash is both a romantic and an activist. His ravishing love songs are counterbalanced by politically engaged material like "Military Madness," "Chicago," "Barrel of Pain," "Soldiers of Peace," and "Immigration Man."

A photo collector since the early 1970s, Nash auctioned off more than 2,000 prints through Sotheby's in 1990 for $2.4 million, a record amount for a single collection of photographs. "Recycling is fun," Nash commented as iconic images by Diane Arbus and Ansel Adams found new owners.

Inspired by a major life change, the two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee released This Path Tonight, his first solo album in 14 years, in 2016. In 2018, he released Over the Years, a career-spanning anthology. He's back on the road again and singing better than ever.

"I want my audience to know two things," Nash told Songwriting. "One, I want to be there for them... And the second thing I want is to see them smiling on the way out. That's when I know that I've done my job as a musician."

  • Performed through Pain

At 83 Graham Nash didn't let a broken knee keep him from sharing his songs. His extremely talented bandmates helped him pour a lot of feeling into his show, We enjoyed the stories. His finale encore had everyone standing and singing a rousing version of Suite: Judy Blue Eyes. I hope our support helped bolster him for his next show.

The Goodyear Theatre in Akron, OH is a great venue. Graham Nash and his band were fantastic. However I can do without the political comments from Graham. Go on a speaking tour and see if people will pay money to hear you give your opinion. I payed for music.

Great show! Graham really poured his heart out. It has been awhile since an artist has raised the hairs in my arms. He did it twice! A night of great stories and awesome music.

  • Graham still rocks!

One of my favorite shows of all time, not only because I love this music, but because Graham Nash, at 83, still brings his passion, talent and amazing vocals to the stage. His supporting musicians were so rich in talent and their artistry was the perfect compliment to Graham’s performance. The Goodyear Theater is one of my favorite venues because of the intimacy and great acoustics. No bad seats in that house! Immigration Man, Marrakesh Express, Find the Cost of Freedom, Ohio were the highlights for me!

  • Great evening with great performer.

by Runningman on 8/8/25Goodyear Theater - AkronRating: 5 out of 5

Wow, what a concert. Graham, even with a surgically repaired knee, knocked it out of the park. The voice and passion for the songs remains the same as ever...spot on. For anyone that thinks Graham is just going to sing, and not comment on world events or the sad and disgusting things happening in this country, you haven't been paying attention to his career and activities at all. Graham has added a couple amazing musicians, Adam Minkoff and Zach Djanikian to go along with Todd Caldwell on keyboards. These fellows are a perfect compliment to Grahams vocals and music.

  • As always...outstanding

by DrCEL on 8/8/25Goodyear Theater - AkronRating: 5 out of 5

Graham Nash is one of the few "true icons"left from the real "rock age"... Needless to say, I have been a fan for 60 years so I may have a biased opinion. However, Nash was part of both the British Invasion and the singer-songwriter social consciousness of the late 60's and early 70's. I like many, started as a fan of the Hollies and followed his career through the various stages with line-ups that included Stephen Stills and David Crosby, as well as Neil Young. He is credited as being part of the "first super group"and is STILL performing at age 83. (with his knee in a brace, from a fall). A great performer and a great show...A solid 1 hour and 45 minutes... A true Classic.
