About

Cuban-born Gloria Estefan has been bringing the Latin sound to audiences around the world since the '70s with iconic hits like with iconic hits like “Words Get in the Way,” “Bad Boys” and “Can’t Stay Away From You." With album sales in the tens of millions, she is considered the world’s most successful Latin crossover artist, bringing an edgy yet heartfelt vibe that transcends cultures and language barriers. As she hits the stage in an explosion of cool, controlled energy, Estefan entrances ticket holders with her honey-smooth vocals, rhythm-infused tunes and inspiring lyrics. In 2013, Estefan embarked on a world tour to promote her album, The Standards, performing for sell-out concerts in venues that included London’s Royal Albert Hall.

A Cuban immigrant whose family fled the Castro regime, Estefan first hit the music scene during the 1970s as the lead singer for the Miami Sound Machine. In 1985, the group released its first Columbia album, Eyes of Innocence, which features the mega-hit “Dr. Beat” and the popular ballad “I Need Your Love.” The album made Estefan a star, and the band became more of a venue to showcase her sizzling hot vocals. By 1989, the group disbanded and Estefan became a fully established solo artist, capping her fame with singles such as “Anything for You” and “Get On Your Feet.” In 2013, Estefan celebrated her four decades in music with The Standards, an album of songs from the Great American Songbook. The album hit No. 20 on the Billboard Top 200 and continues to be a bestseller worldwide, as well as a fitting tribute to Estefan’s evergreen versatility.

    Gloria is a class act!

by Anonymous on 10/26/10San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino - Highland

She made her entrance through the crowd and was very personable throughout the entire show talking directly with fans in the audience and accepting text message requests. From the moment she appeared she had the crowd on their feet. Her musicians are wonderful but nothing compares to hearing her live. She is absolutely beautiful, charming, and shares so much with her fans! I've seen her before and would see her 100 times!!

Concert was great ! Loved the idea of texting your favorite songs and her singing them. It's amazing how many songs there was to choose from I couldn't pick one so I let others choose. Every song she sings is my favorite. Thanks Gloria for coming to the west coast.

    Great Music!!

by sincereopinion on 10/20/10San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino - Highland

Gloria and the Sound Machine were awesome. Unfortunately San Manuel Casino was not a good place to see the concert. It was ballroom seating (flat floor). Even if I purchased the best seats the view was horrible. The sound system was loud and was poorly engineered. They had TV monitors but they were small and did not have clarity. This venue was totally over priced for what was presented. Once again Gloria and the Sound Machine did a good job.

Gloria and the MSM can still rock any venue

by Miny43 on 10/19/10San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino - Highland

Amazing show as always.I've seen Gloria countless times.A coworker shared how through her divorce some 20+years ago,Gloria's music helped to lift her spirits and may have kept her from losing hope and throwing in the towel at the lowest time in her life.If she'd told me this that night I would've given her my wrist band to have her go backstage and tell Gloria herself.Tears still streamed down her face 20+years as she shared what Gloria's music meant to her.Gloria's music brings you joy,the rithym really gets ya.If you are lucky enough to meet her or her band, you might find yourself like the Spain people, traveling across the world to get a few hours of one of the industries finest entertainers.

Gloria never misses, she's the best!!!

by dodgerlover on 10/19/10San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino - Highland

Gloria's performance was great as always. It was fun with the text messaging improvisation of playing other songs. The seating was the only thing that wasn't great, especially for short people. But the venue being smaller was great.

    Gloria Live

by 1234eeyore on 10/19/10San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino - Highland

Due to a last minute change in plans, I had to leave the concert before it finished. I was quite disappointed that the concert did not begin on time; instead of starting at 7:30 as billed, it did not start until 8:00pm meaning that I missed half an hour's worth of the show. What I did see was fantastic. Gloria still has a beautiful voice. She stepped into the technological age by accepting text requests for music, allowing fans to become more involved. The venue needs to work on sound system and video equipment.

    Gloria was spectacular!!

by Vindy on 10/18/10San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino - Highland

THE CONCERT WAS AWESOME FROM BEGINNING TO END!! WE DANCED ALL NIGHT AND SANG EVERY SONG!! SHE STILL LOOKS GOOD AND SOUNDS GREAT!! THE ONLY BAD THING ABOUT SEEING A CONCERT AT SAN MANUEL CASINO IS THE SEATING!! FOR WHAT I PAID FOR MY TICKETS AND WHERE I SAT SUCKED!! WE SAT BEHIND THE CAMERA GUY AND ALL THE TVS HAD TERRIBLE RECEPTION!! THERE WERE TALL PEOPLE THAT SAT IN FRONT OF US. AND SO I WILL MOST LIKELY NOT EVER SEE ANOTHER PERFORMER THERE. AGAIN THANK GOD FOR GLORIA PERFORMING AS AWESOME AS SHE DID!!

    Gloria Estefan's Return!

by MarleneD on 10/18/10San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino - Highland

Gloria was truly amazing at this concert. I can't believe Gloria began the concert by singing about 4 feet away from us in the middle of the aisle in the arena vs. on stage like most performers do. Security was no where in sight, and she strolled through the aisles singing while she greeted all of her fans with handshakes, hugs, and kisses. It took her about 10 minutes to make her way up to the stage. She is the most humble diva out there! She really knows how to please her fans and she rocked the house for several hours! I really hope she comes back for another performance soon, and I hope she is considering coming out of retirement for her fan's sake. Gloria we love you!

    Gloria is Always Amazing!

by QbanitaSata99 on 10/17/10San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino - Highland

Seeing Gloria Estefan perform is always the best. You're sure to have a wonderful and memorable time. Her music has the crowd up and dancing from the moment she starts to sing. I've seen her many times throughout the years and she still has the same energy as always. This is why I give the concert 5 stars. As for the venue, not the greatest at all!!! The venue is basically a large ballroom at the San Manuel Casino that is set up with chairs in aisles and rows, just like a theatre. The thing is, everyone is sitting at the same level and unless you have seats front and center you won't see most of the show!!! The side big screens were awful and out of focus. The sound too was pretty bad because when Gloria would speak to the audience, it was hard to understand. Love Gloria Estefan but hated the venue!

    Gloria's Party

by Arkitexture on 10/17/10San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino - Highland

This show was definitely something special! From the audience being able to text their favorite songs in hopes that Gloria will sing them (and she did as many as she could) to the unexpected oldies on her set list, this show was a non-stop, unforgettable Gloria Fan dream come true. She started the show with a partial version of "Here We Are" within 2 feet of me in the audience (and I wasn't near the stage by any means). I was able to hug her and feel her great energy! She ended the show with confetti and upbeat dance tunes including Conga and I Just Want To Be Happy! Being a non-Hispanic American who speaks/reads/understands Spanish, I truly appreciated her performing some of her greatest Spanish sung songs like, Con Los Anos Que Me Quedan, No Llores and Tres Desos! She catered to EVERYONE with her inspirational English and Spanish tunes! For what I call an "impromptu" show (without a tour being had), this was truly a fun and huge production with lighting, dancers and a full orchestra! I'm glad I didn't miss out!
