Cuban-born Gloria Estefan has been bringing the Latin sound to audiences around the world since the '70s with iconic hits like with iconic hits like “Words Get in the Way,” “Bad Boys” and “Can’t Stay Away From You." With album sales in the tens of millions, she is considered the world’s most successful Latin crossover artist, bringing an edgy yet heartfelt vibe that transcends cultures and language barriers. As she hits the stage in an explosion of cool, controlled energy, Estefan entrances ticket holders with her honey-smooth vocals, rhythm-infused tunes and inspiring lyrics. In 2013, Estefan embarked on a world tour to promote her album, The Standards, performing for sell-out concerts in venues that included London’s Royal Albert Hall.
A Cuban immigrant whose family fled the Castro regime, Estefan first hit the music scene during the 1970s as the lead singer for the Miami Sound Machine. In 1985, the group released its first Columbia album, Eyes of Innocence, which features the mega-hit “Dr. Beat” and the popular ballad “I Need Your Love.” The album made Estefan a star, and the band became more of a venue to showcase her sizzling hot vocals. By 1989, the group disbanded and Estefan became a fully established solo artist, capping her fame with singles such as “Anything for You” and “Get On Your Feet.” In 2013, Estefan celebrated her four decades in music with The Standards, an album of songs from the Great American Songbook. The album hit No. 20 on the Billboard Top 200 and continues to be a bestseller worldwide, as well as a fitting tribute to Estefan’s evergreen versatility.

I really enjoyed the concert! I love that she played a lot of music from Miami Sound Machine and Mi Tierra albums. Gloria looked amazing and put on a great show! I also enjoyed the stories she shared inbetween songs. The only thing I didn't like was the venue. The Bingo room was not a good venue for a concert. Especially since we requested handicap seating and they had no designated place to put us. Where they did seat us, everyone stood up in front of us and being wheelchair bound my poor mom could not see the show!
The concert was great, Gloria was fantastic.. But the seats could have been better set up.. Once the first person up front stood up, that was it... No one could see the stage.
The combination of Gloria and Carole was amazing. I went to see Carole King, because she has always been my favorite. I wound up really enjoying Gloria and the Miami Sound Machine as well. I was so emotional all night long- from laughing and dancing, to crying my eyes out at how beautiful the music was. I always wanted to see Carole King live and finally, my dream came true. I got to sing all of my favorite songs along with my favorite artist. My heart was just so full. Oh, the venue was very nice also- the MGM at Foxwoods- it was a really nice place and the sound was good. Would definitely go back there for another concert.
The concert was great. I loved the inter-action between Carol and Gloria. We had excellent seats on the second night. Wish Gloria Would do these type of duet concerts going forward.
Both were great! Would go again both my husband and I enjoyed it....
Everything about this experience was great. from purchasing the tickets online to the seats for the concert to the concert itself. I'd do it again!
I have always loved GLORIA in concert and she didnt dissapoint me , she is one of the best show woman out there... I was hesitant to see Carol King but she was great , I loved the fact that she sang in Spanish and sounded great... I would go back to see the both again......
Who would think that Gloria and Carole go together???? Years in their age span and music style made no difference !! They were fabulous!!!
I was wondering how the two ladies would gel--but it was terrific.
My two favorite singers of all time in a fantastic venue....it doesn't get any better than that! Both artists were in top form both nights I saw them. Chance of a lifetime concert, it was more than worth the hassle and money of getting to the venue and staying overnight for the last night. If you happen to be a Gloria Estefan or Carole King fan and they ever perform again, do not pass up the opportunity!
I enjoyed the Carole King portion of the concert as a 5 stars. Carole's voice is impeccable and I picture her in her 20's with dark hair if I close my eyes while she sings. Her fingers move on that piano without thought. As for Gloria, she has the energy the moves and the sincerity but the Cuban thing is so overdone. I realize that she has roots in her homeland where she is proud and one or two songs to acknowledge Cuba is acceptable. But, it was overdone with at least 5, maybe 6 dedicated to her heritage. She is here now and yes she did pay tribute to our service men being that the concert I saw was on Memorial day weekend, but stick to the wonderful songs we know and own, not the ones special to herself. That is why it got 4 stars for the concert. I have nothing negative for Carole King. Star 100% and pure talent.
I enjoyed the show but the sound was awful during the first half of the show. I was in the first row at the mezzanine level and it was like witnessing an earthquake. I was unable to hear Gloria singing because of the percussions and the equilibirum between bass and high notes. Too much basses. I did not enjoy the first part in terms of musical impression. The dancers were amazing and the percussionists were great. It improved when Carole King sang with Gloria because, in the songs, the percussions were not so important. Overall my wife and I appreciated the show but ,in this kind of theater, the sound system should be tested and equilibrated.
They both are legends. This is a highly recommended show!! I had a great time.
This was an awesome concert! The Miami Sound Machine was amazing! Only problem...it was short. I'm not sure if it was worth the drive down and the price of the tickets. My mom and I had a great time, but we agreed it was almost not worth it.
I go to a decent amount of concerts and this was a good one, not wonderful but good. My least favorite thing was actually the venue though. It was very lack luster. I expected a wonderful lavish experience since its the NEW big wonderful foxwoods, and it was anything but. It was very comparable to anywhere else I have been, no better for sure. The consession stands were bare minimum to begin with and didn't have half the stuff we tried to order anyway. The rest of the place was like that, not worth the drive. The actual show was good, Carol King was actually better than Gloria and I love Gloria and had never heard of Carol King, so that was a nice surprise :) other than that meh...............
Wonderful!!!! I would recommend this show to all. Two superstars one night.
