  • Set Lists Were Too Short

    by Gasher0502 on 8/22/09Cain Park - Cleveland HeightsRating: 3 out of 5

Cain Park was a great venue to see a show. Great sound system. However, the set lists for both the Gin Blossoms and Tonic were entirely too short. There were no encores from either band. Opener One Loan Car was good. However, they seemed to play longer than Tonic and the Gin Blossoms. Tonic sounded fantastic, but the Gin Blossoms were phoning it in. Overall, a disappointing event.

  • Gin Blossoms & Tonic

    by dan000 on 8/22/09Cain Park - Cleveland HeightsRating: 2 out of 5

One Lone Car opened the show and did very well. They played a long set due to the absents of Tonic The Gin Blossoms played second .The band was tight but Rob Wilson was all over the place and even left the stage a few times to go off in the wings. Whats up with that. I dont know if Tonic ever showed up we left.

  • Extremely dissapointed

by cetta on 8/22/09Cain Park - Cleveland HeightsRating: 2 out of 5

This was my 5th time to a Gin Blossom concert and the first time I have been dissapointed first the concert started late then they changed the lineup and flipped flopped the gin blossoms and tonic and that was after I e-mailed the park and was told the opposite that could have been really a disaster since we were traveling a 100 miles and were going to see the gin blossoms then the gin blossoms only play one hour and no encore wow 100 mile drive for a 10 song set plus bringing along a gin blossom fan who was seeing them for the first time everyone was really disapointed.

  • meaningful

by palommasgirl on 8/12/09The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

This concert has a different meaning to me than it would to anyone else. I brought my dad with me when my boyfriend had a last minute visit from family. The concert was amazing and I was glad that my dad enjoyed it because he normally listened to country. unfortunately, a couple of days later my father was killed when riding his bike home from work by a DUI driver. I was extremely close to my father and knowing that I was able to take him to see two of my favorite groups means the world to me. I will always treasure that night and the time I was able to spend with my father.

  • Gin Blossoms Rocked Harrah's

    by SJK15 on 8/9/09Harrah's Chester Casino & Racetrack - ChesterRating: 4 out of 5

Robin Wilson got the crowd into it right away by calling everyone to come up to the stage, The band sounded great and played all the songs we wanted to hear. It was a lot of fun.

  • Awesome!

by BabblingWally on 8/7/09Showcase Live - FoxboroRating: 5 out of 5

They played every song I wanted to hear and were very crowd friendly. Robin was going out into the audience and singing into cell phones, so that was pretty cool. I would definitely recommend seeing them. Great show.

  • Awesome show!

Being the first time at BB Kings..I thought the set up was great..next time tho I will be eating a little earlier before the show and hope to get closer to the stage.. A big thank you to Robin as always for staying after the show and signing autographs and taking pictures w/the fans..what a hoot he was for jumping all around on the platforms getting around to everyone..just the look on all the security was priceless!! Thank you guys!! Had a wonderful night out as usual =)

  • Not a good venue

    by larry01 on 8/5/09Harrah's Chester Casino & Racetrack - ChesterRating: 3 out of 5

The Gin Blossoms were great. Robin Wilson's voice is as good in person as on a recording. This guy can sing and doesn't need studio intervention. However, Harrah's facility is basically a banquet room. The seating was banquet chairs arranged around the stage -- no elevation for seats farther away from the stage. If people stood near the stage -- which they were allowed to do -- you were screwed if you just wanted to sit. You couldn't see a thing. Also, their amplification was powerful for such a small venue. The bass was so loud, it was vibrating through me. Like I said, I'd see the Gin Blossoms again. I love their music. But not at Harrah's.

  • A very energetic and entertaining performance!

by KingSlugOfCali on 8/3/09B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

A fun and energetic set that played all of the expected songs. When you see a show by a group that hasn't produced relevant music in years, expectations are that they will come out bored and go through the motions...they actually felt connected to the audience. I truly enjoyed their set.

  • the gins show

  • Awesome Gin Blossoms

by Mylosh on 8/3/09Showcase Live - FoxboroRating: 5 out of 5

The BAND was great, the venue was great and we could not have asked for a better night (except for the meathead that wanted to mix it up after his girl started leaving empties on our table and we told her to stop.) First time seeing the GBs and the first time at Showcase Live and both were amazing. We knew every song they played except for the one from a new, yet to be released, album and even that song was great. I will certainly see them again and wil most certainly make another trip to Showcase LIVE.

  • Gin Blossoms were Great

by SuzyZ on 8/3/09B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

The Gin Blossoms were great. The interaction with the crowd was phenominal. The small setting made the show. Only wished they played longer!!

  • Gin Blossoms - Amazing!!!!

by MissMKM on 8/2/09Harrah's Chester Casino & Racetrack - ChesterRating: 5 out of 5

Concert was one of the best ever. The intimate setting at Harrah's was great. Robin invited the entire audience down in front of the stage for the whole show. He interacted with the audience during the entire show - recorded songs on cell phones, gave high fives, fist bumps, bithday acknowledgements, etc. We got up close and personal with all of the band members during the show. The entire band put on a great performance and they seemed to enjoy themselves. Robin sounded exactly like his records. They played one of their songs from their upcoming album. Wish Harrah's had more scheduled concerts in Chester.

  • Gin Blossoms Rock

    by DJM1 on 8/2/09Harrah's Chester Casino & Racetrack - ChesterRating: 4 out of 5

Gin Blossoms - the music was awesome and the crowd totally engaged. Great mix of songs and energy. Only one negative - Gin Blossoms played ONLY 1 hour. I thought that was a bit of a rip but the hour they played was great. Tthe venue was ok. Nice that everyone could get up close (not many sat in their seats). Otherwise some of the views here at the Harrahs casino would not be great.

  • Gin Blossoms

by AmazingMane on 8/2/09Harrah's Chester Casino & Racetrack - ChesterRating: 4 out of 5

I absolutely LOVE the Gin Blossoms, have since I first found out about them many years ago. It was a small venue, intimate, and not overly crowded. The band sounded great, even with the acoustics not being optimal for such an event. With that said, I will say that the tickets I purchased were for full view. That view was obstructed, as everyone that had obstructed views moved to stand directly in front of the stage, as they were invited by the band. While that is very cool for those folks, those of us in the first few rows were forced to either stand, or stare at the backs of the people who hadn't paid the same amount for the view. And the only other thing that I was unhappy with, was the band played for only an hour. It was the shortest "concert" that I've ever seen. I would recommend them though, despite those issues. I did find myself singing along with all their songs, and that was very cool.

  • Worst event my concert going years

    by Hubbard215 on 8/2/09Harrah's Chester Casino & Racetrack - ChesterRating: 1 out of 5

First off, when you pay for "Premium Seating" you expect your seats to be up front. Well, when we got there, 10 minutes after the show started everyone was out of their seats and right up on the stage, that includes the people who payed a lot less and had seats in the far back. So needless to say we wound up in the "back" of the crowd despite having the better seats in the house. If you are going to have a pit area....fyi, it's called standing room only and you pay ONE PRICE. There was no opening act and the band played for 1 hour and 15 on the dot. As much as I love the Gin Blossoms I am not sure whether the band was at fault or Harrah's casino was the culprit but I will surely never return to Harrah's for an event ever again. Not to mention their stage looked like something from a high school prom. I have seen the GBs play for FREE and put on a better show. P.S. there is one lane leaving their parking garage so it took 45 minutes just to leave, pretty sad considering that is about half the time the concert lasted.

  • Never gets old

by Lemon on 8/2/09B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The Gin Blossoms have been around for a long time, but they're still as great as they were when they first started out.

  • Good show, bad venue

    by mtw02 on 8/2/09Harrah's Chester Casino & Racetrack - ChesterRating: 4 out of 5

Gin Blossoms sounded great. It was a 90s flashback, great to hear them. Their playlist was almost exclusively their old stuff - I don't think they have many new songs. The show was also pretty short but given the venue setting, that was fine. The worst part was the venue. It was not good - it was like a hotel banquet hall, hardly suitably for a rock concert. Harrah's needs to get a place to host shows like this...it just detracts from the experience.

  • Just Pure Awesome
