  • Gin Blossoms concert was fantastic!!

    by SkiandWife on 11/17/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - SnoqualmieRating: 5 out of 5

We've always wanted to see them and it was well worth the wait!! The band is tight and rocked the house. We went with our son and a friend of his, and all of us thought it was a great show. So I guess you could say they still have a very up to date sound even though they have been around for years. Their new songs are every bit as good as the old familiar ones. As usual the Snoqualmie casino is the place to see a show, the band even went into the casino after the show. Gotta love that.

  • great venue, fantastic band

So good, makes me wonder why I ever lost track of them. One of the most enjoyable shows I've seen all year (and I've been to 12). Felt like being in a small club and seeing a local band only with great sound.

  • Can't wait for the new album

    by GinPlayer on 11/15/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - SnoqualmieRating: 4 out of 5

Well to start with, I have to admit that I like GB and have for along time. The combination of simple but tasteful guitars, great song writing, strong melodies and good harmonies makes me continue to like them. The show was great. For my tastes, no boring opener, just the reason I came. The Gin Blossoms. One really long set and some encore songs. They played all the tunes that we remember and one from the upcoming (and much anticipated) album. I know normally people like the "old tunes" and get cranky if a band plays to much new (especially unreleased ) stuff, but I would have like a few extra new songs. That said, I REALLY like "Miss Disarray" (forgive me if that isn't that actual title). Robin's voice was right on the money, and Scotty was flawless as well. The new drummer is tasteful and comfortable. Jesse's guitar is also great and the backup voacals are perfect. And Bill on Bass... Man that guy has long fingers!!! (and plays great) Am I a fan?? Well Yahh, but I an't no kid, and I would go see them again tomorrow... and the next day..... and will piack up the new album (and will continue to play as many GB songs as my bandmates will let me :)

Great small venue made it feel like we were in a club. Very intimate. The band was great. Could have been longer but can't complain much for the price.

  • Gin Blossums was great

    by dirtyspaniard on 11/14/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - SnoqualmieRating: 5 out of 5

They played all of their hits, and then some. Not sure why singer left stage in a hurry during the show. But the band mates kept it going and tried their best to fill the void. When he came back about 5 or 7 minutes later, it was like he didn't miss a beat. His voice is awesome. He sounded great the whole time. He did a Sir Elton John acoustic version of "Rocket Man" at the end of the show. It was absolutely awesome. I would love to see them again. They said they were putting together a new album. I can't wait to pick it up.

Seeing the Gin Blossoms was like going back in time for just a little while, so fantastic! I'm REALLY excited for them to come out with their new album next year!

  • Fabulous Gin Blossoms

    by ReenyRae on 11/14/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - SnoqualmieRating: 5 out of 5

Everything about this concert was enjoyable. The Gin Blossoms' sound is so appealing and soothing yet lively. We look forward to their next concert promoting their album release in 2010.

  • A very strong Gin Blossoms show

    by Sindrew on 11/14/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - SnoqualmieRating: 4 out of 5

This was one of the best shows I have seen the Gin Blossoms put on. Saw them at Snoqualmie last February and they seemed bored. They are starting to be performers and are not going through the motions. They seem into the music and have an interest in playing high quality music. If they add a little more production to the show this will be a 5 Star act. No opening act!!

  • Loved me some Gin & Tonic

by GYNA on 8/29/09Cain Park - Cleveland HeightsRating: 4 out of 5

The summer night under the stars was awesom at Cain Park in Cleveland. Gin Blossoms came out and went straight to our favorite songs. Tonic "Rocked the House." Unfortunately the venue only permitted the bands an hour of play since they were delayed due to a flight issue. Tonic was very apologetic though.

  • Gin Blossoms set too short

by Albin on 8/24/09Cain Park - Cleveland HeightsRating: 3 out of 5

I am a huge Gin Blossoms fan and was disappointed about time they were on stage. I thought they were the headliner and would play much longer than they did, and thought Tonic would play before them.

  • Gin & Tonic - Shaken not Stirred

by RockinRoberto on 8/23/09Cain Park - Cleveland HeightsRating: 3 out of 5

The Gin Blossoms and Tonic show at Cain Park on Friday August 21st has to be one of the oddest shows in recent memory. The show was scheduled to start at 8:00 with the opening act One Lone Car - but a voice from a mystery announcer lady (we never could figure out where she was speaking from) stated that due to a plane malfunction, the show would start at 8:30. After their set, the Mystery announcer then said that due to the previously mentioned flight problems, the Gin Blossoms would be performing next. They opened with Follow You Down and for the the next 50 minutes performed many of their hits with a new song thrown in for good measure. Singer Robin Wilson seemed a bit out of it at times, as they closed the set with Hey Jealousy. Expecting an encore, the crowd was disappointed as roadies came out and started breaking down the stage. It took about 25 minutes to set up for Tonic as the Tonic drummer even used John Richardson's Drum Kit. From the opening song "Open Up Your Eyes" the band rocked and jammed. After about 35 minutes of music, Emerson Hart strummed an accoustic intro to the bands best known tune"If You Could Only See. They really kicked it up a notch on this song, but as the song ended so did the the show. Apparently, Cain Park has a Midnight Curfew so they could not have played any longer if they wanted to.

  • Gin & Tonic Rocked!

by nikindc on 8/23/09Cain Park - Cleveland HeightsRating: 5 out of 5

I've been to a lot of concerts and I was surprised at how good the concert in Cain Park turned out to be. In fact, I enjoyed it more than any other concert I've been too. The acoustics were fantastic, the venue was beautiful and the entire evening was a memorable one my husband and I won't soon forget. EXCELLENT SHOW!

  • Gin and Tonic Rocked!!!

by LeeCleve on 8/23/09Cain Park - Cleveland HeightsRating: 5 out of 5

Both acts were amazing! They had high energy and played all their hits....they were entertaining and a lot of fun to watch! The Gin Blossoms' Robin always knows how to engage a crowd!!!

  • What Happened

    by zaw73 on 8/23/09Cain Park - Cleveland HeightsRating: 3 out of 5

I have seen the Gin Blossoms too many times to count but this is the first time I have to say I came away with the feeling that they just were not into it. Robin sounded great and Jesse seemed to be the only one wih any energy. Tonic was running late so I don't know if that upset them because they had to "open" for Tonic. Still my favorite band by far but just not up to their expectations. Can't wait for the new album...

Venue was amazing. Think Wrigley field meets Swiss family Robinson. Gin blossoms, Tonic and One Lone Car were all great. Awesome experience.

  • Despite flight delays, a good time had by all

by arothman on 8/22/09Cain Park - Cleveland HeightsRating: 3 out of 5

Cain Park is always a great place to see a show. We sat on the lawn under a clear sky and had a very relaxing evening. The sound and lighting were nicely done. Opening act "One Lone Car" from St. Louis turned in a decent performance, which was certainly no small feat. It must be tough as the unknown opener for two bands people have actually heard of in Cleveland, coupled with the half-hour delay of the concert due to an in-flight emergency on the airplane bringing Tonic's lead singer. The band played an extended set of radio-friendly and generally non-distinguished pop/rock. Nothing to write home about, but enjoyable. Since Tonic was not yet in the building, Gin Blossoms seemingly reluctantly took the stage first. The band ran through all of its hits and a few new compositions, and despite lead singer Robin Wilson playing to the crowd and running out into the audience, the overall effect of the show was "this is a group of guys in their early 40s who almost made it to the top ten a over a decade ago and really don't know why they're doing it anymore". The music was solid, competent, sing-along enjoyable... but in general it was low on energy and "rock show excitement". It was a by-the-numbers set. Tonic, however, played an excellent set, despite half the crowd having left after Gin Blossoms finished, and having been scared to death in a depressurized aircraft at 25,000 feet just hours earlier. The trio only has one or two songs most people would know, but they made all of their songs seem fresh and hit-worthy by playing with energy and excitement. Tonic definitely made the people who hung around long enough to wait for them happy. In fact, I could have listened to them for a another hour had the show not started late.
