  • Ryan Star was amazing!

    by RStarFan87 on 10/31/10Altar Bar - PittsburghRating: 5 out of 5

Christina Perri opened the Fall Q Ball. She played a great set, including her current single, "Jar of Hearts." Ryan Star came on next and rocked it with Dallin Applebaum. (The full band did not play this show.) They did a fantastic job and delivered an energetic, powerful set. Ryan's passion for his music is unmatched and I always love to see him perform, so I was glad QBurgh brought him to Pittsburgh. Looking forward to the next show! I only saw part of the rest of the performances so I won't comment about them directly, but Steven Page, David Archuleta, and Gin Blossoms also performed.

First time I ever saw Christina Perri live. Her voice sounded amazing! Hope to see her again sometime. My favorite of the night was definitely Ryan Star!!! So much energy and passion that he puts into every performance!! Hoping to see him with his entire band soon!

  • awesomeness

by Tiffanest on 10/22/10Altar Bar - PittsburghRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was amazing and the highlight of the evening of course was David Archuleta and his voice was just amazing in concert as in his CD and Christina Perri and Ryan Star were awesome too but, that steve guy was well he had a good voice and his songs were pointless and no your never gonna be 300 pounds and float up to the sky. BUT ARCH WAS SOOOOOOOOO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Loved the Concert -Tiffany <3

  • David Archuleta was out of this world AMAZING

by anniejc on 10/21/10Altar Bar - PittsburghRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the setting this event was at, the Alter Bar, very intimate..very cool vibe. Christina Perri was very good. Love her song 'Jar of Hearts' Really liked Steven Page too. I enjoyed all the artists there and David Archuleta was outstanding. I only wish he had done a longer set.

  • archie is the man!

by julieanno on 10/21/10Altar Bar - PittsburghRating: 3 out of 5

I was really excited to support the cause and to srr David Archuleta. I was extremely disappointed that he only sang 4 songs. I was very upset and walked out after his performance. The performers on before him played multiple songs around 7 and he was on stage for oly about 15 to 20mins.

  • "Think Pink" Ball was Great!

    by gina2010 on 10/21/10Altar Bar - PittsburghRating: 4 out of 5

Nice venue. Good crowd. Great cause! What a great way to spend a Tuesday night! Plus, we helped fund Breast Cancer research. Performers were amazing! Lots of fun! Was introduced to some great acts that I'd not heard before. Would have liked to hear some longer sets. Looking forward to seeing who will be in next year's lineup!

  • Quite a mix of acts....

by Tomguin on 10/21/10Altar Bar - PittsburghRating: 4 out of 5

Have to admit I was there to see Steven Page, formerly of Barenaked Ladies, and I didn't know a couple of the other acts, but it was great live music in a unique venue. I am glad to see that there was no smoking allowed (after all it was a benefit for breast cancer) since the last time I saw Joe Gruschecky there it was LOUD and so smoky I had to leave. But all the acts did a nice job, and a nice acoustic set from two of the Gin Blossoms. I was sorry to see that more people didn't come out for this great benefit show. But all and all any night to go out and see some live music is a good one.

it was one of the best concerts we've ever been to--and we go to them all.

  • Gin Blossoms Concert

by coverofnight on 7/30/10BERGEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - EnglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

They're back and better than ever. I loved this band the moment I first heard "Hey Jealousy" blasting from my radio, but after the first two albums, they seemed to disappear from sight. I saw them a million years ago headline over Cracker & Spin Doctors, and I really enjoyed the performance, but today, so many years later, they seem to have a new energy that blew through the old hits, including many from their most recent album, and even touching their soon to be released new collection. Great upbeat power pop, the kind that doesn't let you stay in your seat, and we didn't. Hope to catch them again plugging the new collection.

  • Great Performance

by MajorMike on 7/26/10BERGEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - EnglewoodRating: 4 out of 5

The band did a great job sounding just like they did 16 years when I first saw them. It was just a shame there was not more support. The venue was only half full and most people were old . . . like 40's up to 55 or so. So there was no energy in the place, even though the band's stage presence was great and they really tried to get the crowd going. I felt bad for the band. So if you go see them, expect a great performance, and bring alot of young friends along with good energy. The only downfall was the 2 encore songs they played - I didn't know them.

  • Would see them again, and again!

by blipper on 7/25/10BERGEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - EnglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

Great show with wonderful mix of old and new songs. We would go to the show tomorrow!!! Lead singer Robin Wilson really put out, and was kind enough to give my 8 year old daughter a tambourine to accompany the band and to take home with her. Scott Johnson Bill Leen and Jesse Valenzuela were as tight sounding as I remember them years ago, Very pleased we went to show!

The show was a blast. They are energetic and really good performers

  • Gin Blossoms Biloxi

    by RSpring361 on 4/19/10Mississippi Coast Coliseum - BiloxiRating: 5 out of 5

Robin and the gang were amazing. Not the biggest crowd ever but Robin treated the show like it was a Madison Square Garden sellout.

  • Loved it all!

by santacruzin21 on 4/1/10Coach House - Capistrano - San Juan CapistranoRating: 5 out of 5

I wish they could move the tables and have a dancing area, but the venue is a little on the smaller side so I understand why they can't. I love the feel of the Coach House though-- very friendly owners, and employees. The servers never cease to amaze with their ability to juggle drinks and food with the crowd, and take orders over the music. And the Gin Blossoms. AMAZING! I love this band, and Robin is an exceptional front man who puts his whole heart into it. A beautiful show, absolutely loved being there!

  • Gin Blossoms in San Juan Capistrano at Coach House

Such a small venue that you can slap hands with your favorite bands. They rocked the place and it took me back to my teens. Loved it!!!

  • Gin blossoms BLOSSOMED!

by drm1031 on 3/28/10Coach House - Capistrano - San Juan CapistranoRating: 5 out of 5

The opening band, Anderson Hall, was soooo good! Had never heard them before but would highly recommend seeing them...got a free CD to share w/ friends. The second band, Fallen Stars, was just OK. The drummer was the best I have ever seen so awesome job to him! And their music was really good just not the singing! As for the Gin Blossoms, sounded like I was hearing them on the radio, not live. They really were amazing and loved the energy they brought to the room! The kept the crowd involved and put on a great show...would love to see them again!

  • Gin Blossoms rocked the New Years Ball!

    by Lisa1214 on 1/1/10Montrose Room InterContinental O'Hare - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

I had a great time on New Years Eve at the rock N Roll Ball. I love the Gin Blossoms and had it not been for this band headlining the NYE event, I would not have spent $85 for the show. The price was a bit steep considered it did not include appetizers, but seeing and hearing the Gin Blossoms was worth it.

  • the breakfast club stole the show

by momomichelle on 1/1/10Montrose Room InterContinental O'Hare - RosemontRating: 1 out of 5

If you want to wait in hour long lines to get bottom shelf drinks and be hearded into cramped rooms this is it! I didn't even want to see the Gin Blossoms. The highlight of the night was the opening band, The Breakfast Club. They were the 80's tribute band and they rocked! The two white crew wasn't anything special aside from the belly baring booty dancers and the dollar bill showerings. My overall rating is 0 stars but I can't review it unless I give at least one star.

I would recommend but only if you want to stand. I was disipointed that there is no angle on the floor. If you are seated, visibility is just ok. Enjoyable evening just the same. The sound crew did an excelent job on the mix. Nice acoustics, consitant threwout. All staff were friendly and helpful.
