Sound quality disappointing
by Mark at Rose Center on 8/21/24The Rose Music Center at The Heights - Huber HeightsRating: 3 out of 5Gin Blossoms are my favorite band that is touring these days. I was looking forward to this show, especially with Toad and Vertical Horizons on the bill; I like Toad music but had never seen them in concert before. I really enjoyed VH and Toad: lead singer for VH had good rapport with the crowd and Toad played a great mix of songs. The sound quality was clean for both bands. When Gin Blossoms hit the stage, the sound quality was terrible. The 1st 3 songs were unlistenable, with the Scotty's guitar sounding out of tune and Robin's vocals way off. On top of that, it sounded like the volume was turned up alot from what Toad and VH were at. The sound got better as the show went on but I expected the headliner's sound to be dialed in from the first song. Song selection was great (they have alot to choose from) but I would have preferred a longer set, with more songs from Congrats and Major Lodge Victory. I will definitely see all 3 bands again when they are back out on tour.
