Great Concert for favorites of the 90's!

I was excited to see Toad and the Gin Blossoms together again since they were two of my favorite bands of the 1990’s. VH started the set and started the night off well and was followed by Toad. Both bands more than delivered.
The GBs hit the stage with a lot of energy. Lead singer Robin Wilson’s vocals were dead on and the music was on point from the first song till the end of their set. The only disappointment of the night was that I was hoping to hear the song 29 (an age I thought was so old when the song came out) and Not Only Numb but alas, it wasn’t to be.
The last five songs, My Hands are Tied, Allison Road, Found Out About You, Hey Jealousy, and Til I Hear it From You, had the crowd all standing and dancing to the music. The encore song was John Denver’s Leaving on the Jet Plane.
Aside from the music, the one thing I most appreciated about the night was Wilson reminding the audience that most of the GB’s songs were about addiction and regret and then went on to thank the audience for allowing the band to continue to perform and make music. It hit home that we all were young once and that we survived our 20’s and now appreciate the music of our time even more than we could realize.
I’ve seen a lot of concerts over the years from giant stadiums to small venues like First Ave. This one is in my top three.
