The venue was perfect for a late summer concert. The bands sounded awesome. There was a issue with our tickets and the event staff went above and beyond fixing the issue. I would go to this venue again without hesitation.
The Horseshoe Casino must have comp'd a ton of tickets. I expected a mixed crowd of Gen X's but was surprised to see so many of the Greatest Generation in there. So many... It looked like a retirement home field trip. The band Fastball didn't stand a chance. The singer never could get the crowd into the show. The band struggled with sound. He had to ask for a loop pedal to be turned on and the singer had to request twice to turn the piano down. Maybe that's why they only played 5 songs and promptly left the stage. During Fastballs show, it looked like a parable from the bible, slowly and two by two, the Greatest Generation, slowly shuffled out of the arena. The exodus continued through The Gin Blossoms show but they had plenty of radio hits to fall back on to keep the crown entertained. Bless him, Robin Wilson was the utmost professional and tried to get the crowd into the show but struggled despite a solid performance. Roughly half the crowd had left mid way through The Gin Blossoms set. This was the first show I have seen where it wasn't the band that had a problem, it was the crowd that was bad. These bands performed even though the crowd was lackluster, they had to watch the crown leave during their set. The venue felt more like a high school talent show than a "rock show". I felt bad for the bands
We really enjoy the Riverdome because it is a small venue and has great entertainment. The seats are pretty snug but the ticket prices are way better than large venues such as CenturyTel. I would highly recommend the Riverdome inside of the Horseshoe casino.
My experience with Gin Blossoms and Fastball exceeded expectations. I’m not a Fastball fan but they were great. And Gin Blossoms sang all their hits including one of my favorite songs (Found Out About You). It was just good ole Rock music. The only things were the show was pretty short and Gin Blossoms didn’t have much merch (posters to be exact).
The Gin Blossoms, are as good, as I hoped they'd be ! They played all of their hits, including, the whole first album ! They were also very personal with the audience !
great venue, great sound.. took me back 25 years.. Gin Blossoms still got it.
They performed at the beautiful Genesee Theater in Waukegan,IL. The Genesee is a true gem. The concert was great! They put on a wonderful show and were very engaged with the audience. It was our anniversary and a great way to celebrate.
Gin Blossoms always sound good, plays all their hits, interact with the crowd, and we always have fun!
The sound was great and the venue was beautiful! Even though the Genessee Theater is a historic venue, there was surprisingly easy access (side exits on BOTH sides) to large restrooms and well stocked bars.
It was fun! I felt like I'd gone back 20 years and felt that young again! My date and I were very pleased. I would see them again for sure.
Fun concert! Great band to see in person! Good venue to see band at as well.
Both performances were high energy. They still love what they are doing. First Tonic performance. GinBlossoms several times. I definitely will go to another show of their’s. I highly recommend seeing them perform ♥️ Tonic band played “sugar”, “if you could only see me”...GinBlossoms played songs from their Mixed Reality album”.... great!!
I like the Gin Blossoms as a casual fan, so when tickets became available I thought why not. I wasn't sure I'd be able to sit through an entire concert, but I was honestly surprised. The band was tight and sounded awesome. The crowd, while a little bit older, was vibrant and jamming to all their songs. I really liked the bands vibe when they called everyone down to the front to dance and sing along. As I already mentioned I wasn't 100% sure I would stay for the entire show, but I admit I was bopping along to every song, not just their hits. Not only did I stay for the entire show, I was yelling for an encore with everyone else at the end. I was very impressed and I would definitely go see them again.
Gin Blossoms sounded great - performed all their popular songs and then some. The venue was small - so we could see the stage & monitors well. My only complaint would be - why do the people in the audience have to get up & move around to get drinks, etc, during the entire concert? It's very distracting!!
Excellent show. Had a great time!! Small intimate venue and plan to attend more concerts there!
The show was outstanding. I loved their classic hits. And enjoyed their new songs. A great band to see!
I have been waiting for years to see these guys, and it was well worth the wait! Really great show. The band established chemistry with the crowd early and often through short stories about their career, as well as the sharing of tambourines, so the audience could participate. Lighting and sound were phenomenal. I'd highly recommend this show.
The band sounded excellent in this theater. The seating (chairs) isn't ideal for a rock show - maybe crowd was a lot of older folks that needed to sit though... high energy acts will be wasted on a seated audience
Great experience from start to finish. The Gin Blossoms sounded great!! Excellent show! The staff at the venue truly care about your experience. Everything from the parking to the lovely pub next door was exceptional.
