This group -- described by _Rolling Stone_ as excelling "at marrying world-weary lyrics with ebullient melodies" -- had several hits in the 1990s, broke up in 1997, re-assembled in 2001, and have been touring & recording ever since; with several changes in membership but no more major hits. We went to hear their 1990s hits, and were not disappointed; indeed, their first song was "I'll Follow You Down." The show continued for about two more hours, with one well-done song after another. The Sound Waves Stage at the Hard Rock Casino in Atlantic City combined an area for standing, in which you could get literally next to the stage, with seating towards the back. A bar was available in the standing area, as well as outside the stage. Although recording devices were "officially" not allowed, almost everyone was using their smart phones for photos & videos. The ushers do, however, enforce a no-flash rule. If you enter Hard Rock Casino at the parking area, you'll have to walk through the casino to get to this stage; if, however, you enter from the boardwalk, you'll be right at this stage's entrance. Security inside the casino was more than adequate but not heavy-handed. After dark, some people may feel a bit un-nerved by the area just outside the casino area, and the surrounding streets -- walk for five minutes from its doors, and it will be eerily quiet, with panhandlers asking for money. If you plan to spend the night in Atlantic City after a show, be prepared for sticker shock over prices for lodging. Overall, we enjoyed this concert, and will likely return to Atlantic City for other shows in the future.
No wonder the tickets were so cheap. Such a weird vibe. Left before the show was over. Had been looking forward to this show for awhile. Extremely disappointed.
All music sounded sane, did not play hits Venue seating people on top of each other and hot
This was by far one of the best nights of my life. Filled with great music, nostalgia, and making awesome memories. I would 100% see them again!!!
This is the second time I've seen the Gin Blossoms at The Wellmont Theater in Montclair. They sounded great and everyone in the crowd seemed to be having a good time! They played all of their popular hits along with their very early songs.
I had a great Time. Good lighting and sound. The Mercurys and Slmbr as openers were clearly a success
Must implement temperature check. Not everyone was wearing mask. Over all love the show. But felt a bit paranoid for non maskers
The concert experience was excellent, the check-in, acoustics, band were all great. The biggest exception were the uncomfortable seats which were the most I have experienced seats in all of NYC metro area venues. This is likely to cause me to avoid the Wellmont. I was squeezed between two larger size individuals and could not make the slightest wiggle without bumping them. Then two large men came and sat in the row in front of me and what little leg/knee room remained was taken completely up. I had to go to yoga class the next day to work out my stiffness from being stuffed into my seat. My companion ended up sitting on the stairs for the same reason.
Sadly the group went on an hour late and we had to leave b4 our favorite song.
They had two opening bands. First one was lead singer from Gin Blossoms son second was a local band which was unnecessary. The concert was supposed to start at eight Gin Blossoms did not go on until 10 very disappointing and annoying to have to wait to see who you pay for
As always, the gin blossoms put on an amazing show. The Paramount is a great venue, with a professional staff who do an outstanding job assisting customers. The two opening acts put on great shows. The 1st act, The Mercurys, led by Robin Wilson's son, were excellent. I especially enjoyed their cover of "Wipe Out". SLBMR, the 2nd opening act, were also excellent. As stated previously, the gin blossoms put on an excellent show.
Waited a long time for this concert and it did not disappoint. From the venue itself which I like because all the seating is good ,to the sound and lights, for me its great place to see your favorite performers. The Gin Blossoms sounded super, actually better then expected playing all the songs I loved from their albums. Vocals were great, tight band , super fun night
Enjoyed the atmosphere of the Amp. The setting is a great place to get away and enjoy some live music.
The venue only opened this year and has hosted quite a few different artists. There’s not a bad seat in the house! The band played well and had some technical difficulties. They did play extra long to make up for it. As always, they’re a great band to see live
What a flash back in time to watch these guys! My daughter and I had a terrific time and the band sounded great! We love the venue! There's no bad seat there and it's so pretty out there.
Took my 19 year old son to see the gin blossoms and we both had a blast!!!! Great show sound great still!
Super clean venue. Awesome seating. No lines for the bathroom or drinks. Reasonably priced. One of the best places I’ve been to for a show
The bands sounded great. That being said the venue is not a place I would revisit. An open field with no cover or shade from the sun. Porta potties not bathrooms. I’m all set
Ticket Master gave no information about when Gin Blossoms was playing. Concert time was 1 pm but 2 other bands played first and so Gin Blossoms didn’t start until 5 pm! It was a really hot day! The bands were fantastic! Great seats from anywhere at this venue. Just more info from ticket master would be helpful.
