Hi had a lot of fun reliving my Disco Daysđșđșđșđș
This was an extremely fun NYE party! The music was fantastic, the crowd was hype, the DJs were killing it and the drinks were good and strong đ. My only complaint was coat check. They ran out of room really early in the night so we had to leave our coats on the small ledges on the second floor. Thankfully, that solution worked great. But I would highly suggest installing hooks so people can hang their coats properly especially if you donât have amply room in coat check for everyone.
Fun crowd and even better music! EVERYONE was dancing! Awesome
The party was everything you wanted an ABBA themed disco to be. The lower review is because of the venueâs staff, which takes a heavy handed approach to guests. My friend was kicked out for trying to pay cash for a beer. He didnât consume the drink and didnât cause a scene but that was enough to get bounced. I was yelled at by a bartender for using the wrong kind of disposable cup at the water station.
We went to this in DC for NYE and had a BLAST! Great dj with an epic mix of disco through the ages, but kept it to mostly the classic throwback songs. We had truly the best time and will 100% be going back.
only two abba songs :/ $8 coat check. go to a dive bar instead.
DJ was poor, felt like a very cheap set up with a projector and some balloons; nothing disco about it
The DJ seemed like someone's mom who they called up last minute. She played full songs til they stopped as if she was working with cassette tapes. Her mixing was awful and half the song choices were just not even familiar disco songs. She played a bunch of slow songs right after the countdown that basically put us to sleep. The crowd left rather quickly.
If you like disco then this is a TON of fun! Especially for NYE!! Bringing in the New Year to Dancing Queen? Peak.
This event was such a blast for me! I felt alive and invigorated from the upbeat and positive vibe. Oh my gosh! The confetti and balloons were absolutely were amazingly super fun!!! I will never forget the colors, the music and the people I met! You gotta go for the experience!
Dancing and singing all night long! The energy of the DJ and the crowd were awesome. The music kept flowing from one great hit to another. Canât wait to go again!
This is the worst event I have ever been to, I have been to funerals with better music, was meant to be ABBA but was just a guy playing music from Spotify, I honestly have seen busier school discos, the only thing Iâm going to GIMME GIMME is a bad review, I should of put 100 dollars in a slot machine and walked away from it at least someone would of been happy cause I certainly wasnât.
Thumbs down - this was a disappointment - I expected all disco music, 70s era, to be played as the name suggests. This was not the case. Also some songs were repeated within a 90 minute span. The transitions were not as expected from a professional DJ.
The event was amazing super fun and eventful from start to finish. Only downfall was it said until 2am and for some reason the event was ended before 12:30am and it wasn't the dj but the venue. Not sure what happened but I wish I got my money's worth. If it said to end at 2am why did it end at 1230am. Not cool from the venue.
The event did not have a DJ for more than 2 hours after it started, up until which the music was a standard spotify playlist of unthematic music played at a volume too low to enjoy. Drinks were excessively expensive, even water cost 5 dollars. I had won a previous citizens live event that gave me two tickets for an event of my choice, I informed them I would like to attend this event with over two weeks in advance, and I received no reply until a day before the event, at which point I had already purchased my own ticket. This was a waste of money, a waste of time, terrible service all around, and a complete disappointment overall.
I had a lot of fun, but I wish I knew the actual event started at 10:00pm and not 8:00pm like it was advertised. I also wish more actual ABBA songs were played. But, I liked the venue, I liked the DJ, and I had a lot of fun!
The concept is great and we've had a lot of fun before. However, the DJ playing in the Boston event on Dec 8 was horrible. She interjected irrelevant comments after every song, played each song for the full 6 minutes (yes, the entire 2-minute codas meant for mixing), made 0 effort to mix or even match the ending of one song with the start of another (the #1 task of a DJ), played some songs multiple times over the span of less than 3 hours, had 2-3 occasions where the music simply stopped because the song ended and she was somewhere else, and even played a 2010s non-disco song at one point! For a random night at a random bar, she might have passed. But for an event with a stated theme and an actual paid ticket, she was completely inept. It felt like just playing the "80s disco"spotify playlist would have been better.
There was too much ABBA back-to-back and not enough disco you could dance to. There was too much talking in between each song. There are tons of disco songs that left me asking why did Cher's song "Believe"get played. Do more research on disco and play the popular disco songs that we love and enjoy dancing to. You'll have a better turnout for longer if you do.
If you want to hear good disco music itâs definitely worth the experience but in my opinion they need to amp up the stage presence maybe with backup dancers.
This was mostly ABBA songs with no mixing, just some guy playing a song, then the song ends, then the guy says something, and then plays another song, crowd seemed to like it, but it was mostly just ABBA, so call it that
