  • He was better in March of 2024

    by Aspie4ABBA on 10/15/24Teragram Ballroom - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

I don't know what happened, but this dj was better in March of 2024. He also cut the dancing at least 30 minutes early tonight. I will give him another chance when I head to San Diego.

  • It was such an ABBAsolutely Fun Night!

by Aspie4ABBA on 10/15/24The Parish at House of Blues Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

Ok, I got to give Patrick (dj who played this night) props. He still did start some of the ABBA songs late, but overall the music was on fire this particular night. I was very satisfied and wanted it to keep going on longer for the night, but I had to work the next day. I hope GGD returns to this particular venue soon. I look for this dance event as much as possible per month. I'm attending two more in October that I'm excited for. I will travel out of town if it's within driving distance. If you enjoy ABBA, 70's and 80's DISCO music you will love this event. Keep dancing the night away!

  • Could be better

by Hippie Chick on 10/15/24Rating: 2 out of 5

I’ve attended this event before at this venue. The female DJ was much more interactive and played all Disco music. It was a much better time. Tonight the male DJ seemed to struggle by playing a few songs more than once then switching to more recent pop songs with heavy base beats that were incredibly loud. The venue was split in half with no waitstaff or food other than a mix of crackers. The lighting was lackluster as well. They did not illuminate the disco balls on the ceiling. The best part was the friendly people who came!

  • Great dance party

by Rujith de Silva on 10/15/24Big Night Live - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Had a great time, good 80s music, spacious venue for dancing. But drinks were expensive!

  • Inconsistent in music and vibe

by Kj on 10/15/24Big Night Live - BostonRating: 2 out of 5

It kept going back and forth feeling like an actual time at a nightclub and something not quite like that. Dance songs with a beat would be played and the vibe would be good and then something else would come on and have no beat. They should’ve done dance versions of the songs that needed it. Lighting was kinda lame a lot of the time and the crowd was meh

  • Room for improvement

by Hippie Chick on 10/15/24Blue Ocean Music Hall - SalisburyRating: 2 out of 5

The first show at this venue was much better. The female DJ was much more interactive and played more Disco tunes. The male DJ we had seemed unprepared and repeated a few songs throughout the night. He also did not stick to Disco tunes and mixed the songs with very heavy and loud base beats that were hard on the ears. Also, the disco balls and lighting effects were lackluster. The room was split in two with no waitstaff or food options other than a cracker trail mix. Hopefully the next one will be better!

  • Gimme Gimme Disco

by Susan on 10/14/24Brooklyn Bowl Nashville - NashvilleRating: 1 out of 5

The most disappointing experience I’ve paid for and attended. Very little disco music was played. They intermingled disco music with various other types. Most of it was nothing you could dance to.

  • Music was not entirely Disco

by Melanie on 10/14/24Blue Ocean Music Hall - SalisburyRating: 2 out of 5

I’ve been to a Gimme Disco event in the past and it was non stop dancing with disco music. All the classic stuff. However the DJ started out with disco, then he switched over to newer remix music. People were leaving the dance floor until better music was available. I felt like the DJ was not really reading the crowd. I probably would’ve skipped this event if I had known it wasn’t going to be true 70’s music.

  • Poor DJ - Salisbury, MA

by Mo on 10/12/24Rating: 1 out of 5

Just not a solid set list - Donna Summer? Chic? Tavares? - dude never mixed songs before. Cannot recommend this location.

  • Pop music not disco

by Pokergirl on 10/8/24Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena - Atlantic CityRating: 4 out of 5

I had a great time however the music wasn’t really all disco. It’s more 70’s-80’s pop.

  • The DJ was high

by Dancing Queen! on 9/24/24The Queen - WilmingtonRating: 3 out of 5

DJ was high as a kite. The room was sweating hot before we even danced, no AC, no fans. The Music was good, the crowed was friendly. If not high the DJ would have been great!

  • Disco was great!

by Rie on 9/23/24Delmar Hall - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Such a fun night, excellent music in a wonderful venue! Would do it again!

  • Gimme gimme gimme my money back

by Disappointed ABBA Fanatic on 9/17/24Brooklyn Bowl - BrooklynRating: 1 out of 5

Absolute waste of money - it was basically just a “”DJ”” on a stage pressing play on Spotify (that is whenever she wasn’t talking to her friends or on her phone). She had no interest in trying to mix in songs properly. Waste of time - it wasn’t even 25% capacity.

  • Overall a blast

by Ash on 9/13/24House of Blues San Diego - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

The event itself was amazing! Such good music and we had the option to scan a QR code to request songs. The DJ was awesome and he remixed things really well. They even allowed groups of people up on stage to show off their dance moves!

  • SO SO FUN!

by krisjenner on 9/10/24House of Blues San Diego - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

i def recommend if you love ABBA and disco/70s esque music. our DJ was amazing and we had such a fun time 😎

  • Way overpriced for the experience

by Zo on 9/10/24Bogart's - CincinnatiRating: 2 out of 5

I personally love disco and was really excited for this event. I bought two tickets which were about 30$ each-60$ total (one of the more expensive tickets I’ve bought, I’ve paid a lot less for actual live bands) The show was literally just one guy on stage with a MacBook playing songs that I’m pretty sure had premade transitions. There wasn’t really much effort put into this and although it was nice to listen to the disco music and dance, I could literally do the same thing at home for free. At the end of the day, I was pretty dissatisfied by the show. If I payed like 15$ per ticket I don’t think I would be as disappointed. It felt really lazy

  • ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!

    by Discolover252 on 9/10/24Bogart's - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

My friend and I went and had a BLAST! We both love Abba and dancing, so this was right up our alley. We unfortunately couldn’t stay for the whole night, but I honestly wished we could have. I would love to do it again!

  • Great time, Diversify the Playlist.

by Ktina on 9/9/24The Bluestone - ColumbusRating: 4 out of 5

Gimme Gimme Disco was a great time. My only suggestion is to play waaayy less Abba. There were so many hits I missed hearing that could've replaced most of the 10+ Abba songs played. Also, we totally missed the QR codes placed around the venue for requests until the last 10 minutes. Maybe make these more noticeable in the future. The atmosphere was fun and the energy were definitely on point though. I'll be back for future shows.

  • Get down....Boogie Oogie Oogie!

by Mike Bookman on 9/9/24The Bluestone - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

This event was the best! The Bluestone, an old church remade for concerts and other events, was the perfect venue for Gimme Gimme Disco. The floor was spacious. The music was nostalgic and fun. The vibe was groovy. Would definitely go to an event like this again!

  • Music was good.

    by P n J on 9/3/24The Observatory - Santa AnaRating: 4 out of 5

Music was good. I wish she (the DJ) would have played more ABBA and the music that I requested. Next time.
