Dj was impolite and the event was underwhelming, not worth $25. I would pay $5 tops.
First off it was amazing seeing everyone dressed up! My outfit was Saturday Night Fever inspired (Surprised no one else attempted it). The crowd was great! Music was awesome! 10/10 recommend!!
January 11tth was ABBAsolutely one of the best times I attended at the House of Blues in San Diego. Karem the DJ was as energetic getting the crowd into the music. I was truly honored when he pointed me out in the crowd and recognized me as a groupie for Gimme Gimme Disco, even better he played two different ABBA songs you won't hear at GGD, "As Good as New"and He ended the night with "On and On and On". It was very crowded on Saturday night too. This was the last Saturday of my Christmas vacation before returning back to work the following Monday. Thank you again Karem for a night I will always cherish. Forever a fan in Downey, California and I'll keep lookin for you at local venues in my area. Signing off, but I'm ready for GGD at The Constellation Room in Santa Ana on January 18th (Saturday)
This is a review for Angelo (Las Vegas Brooklyn Bowl). My flight was late into town that night, so I arrived on Sunday night after the event started. It started out kind of lousy, but when Angelo invited us to dance on the stage, my attitude changed quickly. Overall, I would rather have heard faster DISCO songs, but he kept us dancing this time. I had a great time on the stage showing off. It will be a while before I come back though.
My friends and I had such a great time at the Gimme Gimme Disco event in Boston on New Year's Eve. The DJ, Josh, was fantastic. Not only was he a great DJ, he was an incredibly entertaining performer as well. His outfit change halfway through the show had us all screaming! The music selection was perfect and there were even a few surprise songs that we weren't expecting. This was such a fun and different way to spend New Year's Eve in the city and I would definitely attend another Gimme Gimme Disco event in the future.
Could not imagine a better way I could've spent my NYE! Highly recommend!
Pretty disappointing. DJ did NOT understand the assignment. Appeared to have no concept of what disco is and basically just played sing along oldies (sweet Caroline, come on Eileen, bohemian rhapsody) which IMO is pretty lazy DJing.
What a fun evening! Great music and a wide age range of people. The DJs interaction with the audience could use some improvement.. he seems *new* I'll be going back again and again!
The DJ at the Teragram for this night was Patrick. Normally, I get upset with Patrick because he cuts into the beginning of ABBA songs, but he played a lot that night (Dec. 14th, 2024) downtown L.A. at the Teragram Ballroom. The security allowed people to remain on the stage during the event for as long as we wished (big plus to them). I was impressed that Patrick also played The Time Warp from The Rocky Horror Picture Show (first time for a Gimme Gimme Disco event). I'm going back in late January and early February. Thank you Teragram for hosting this really fun event. The Teragram Ballroom is a great music venue for Gimme Gimme Disco. Please make sure that the DJ is either Reece or Karem from San Diego though! Patrick played for 2.5 hours until he saw people leaving.
I've attended Gimme Gimme Disco twice before and had an absolute blast, but unfortunately, this specific event fell far short of expectations. The DJ seemed distracted, frequently leaving the stage to chat with friends, and random people were touching his equipment. This led to interruptions like air horn sound effects going off mid-song, which completely killed the vibe. On top of that, the song selection was disappointing—I'd come to dance to iconic tracks from the '70s and '80s, not endure remixes of Cotton Eye Joe or Cupid Shuffle. For a ticket price of $22-$27, I expected much better. If this had been a $5 event, the quality might have been understandable, but for nearly $30? It was a letdown. To the Gimme Gimme team: please vet your DJs more carefully. I know how great your events can be—my previous experiences were fantastic—but this one was not up to your usual standard.

I was not expecting much and was honestly blown away by this event lol it was so much fun, the music was amazing, venue immaculate, and the DJ was great. Extra highlight to the staff of this event, they were SO nice and incredible. We lost a purse at one point and the entire staff rallied around helping us find it, while also making us feel helped, heard, and valued. I am eternally grateful to them as we had three phones and three wallets in the missing purse! THANK YOU GIMME STAFF <3
I attended the Gimme Gimme Disco event at the House of Blues in San Diego on a Saturday night (Nov. 30th, 2024). Karem the DJ was on FIRE that night. He kept on putting good ABBA songs and DISCO music as well. I got a lot of compliments from the audience with my energy on the dance floor and lipsynching to the songs. I carry a prop microphone 🎤 with me too. I'm a Gimme Gimme Disco groupie. I'm the tall bald guy always wearing an ABBA tribute t-shirt. I am looking forward to more this month (December 2024) to end 2024. Whoever created this dance craze, you've gained a fan for life!
Possibly the biggest letdown of the year. The hype around this event is all fluff. Went to SLC’s show tonight and it was so underwhelming. First, the DJ was so unenthusiastic. Second, they played every song ALL THE WAY THROUGH. Disco songs are like 6 minutes long bruh. And it was mixed so horribly. They barely played ABBA or anything people knew so the crowd would just sit and sway for a few songs Bc nobody cared. And the songs chosen were SLOW so it’s hard to dance to. Looked forward to this event for a year bc I missed the last one, I should have missed this one too. Just horrible. I want my money back.
I had attended this party in February. Had the best time. Didn’t make it because it was more like a concert. When I got there, the event was over. The website didn’t include the ending time. The tickets didn’t make mention either. A waste of money and time.
I didn't really enjoy the party. There were mostly fans of Abba, yet somehow, it didn't work... Waiting without any music for the party to start was kind of a mood-killer...
Great venue overpriced drinks no place to sit but a lot of fun
Nice show. Had fun! Just wish there was a little more “disco/funk” music.
I got MAJOR compliments on how much I LOVE to show off at these events. I even got a compliment from one of the bar-tenders as I was leaving the venue. Hands-down, The Teragram Ballroom downtown Los Angeles is the best venue for GGD. I will be returning on Oct. 26th for GGD. I hope it's Reece who will be spinning the music. This is the first time in months I could actually spin like a top on the stage. I have an arthritic hip (I'm 56 folks) and I felt like I was in my 20's this night. I was the 6' 5"ABBA fan wearing an ABBA T-shirt. I'm looking forward to another fun night at GGD!
