  • ABBA-Salutely Delicious!

by ABBA Dancer on 5/1/25Teragram Ballroom - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

I frequently attend the Gimme Gimme Disco events all over. I'm really now a groupie you could say. Please bring more of these fun events to Southern California or San Francisco, San Diego, and Fresno more often if possible. Had a great night but I don't know which venue I'm reviewing, so I'm trying to be fair. If it's Teragram Ballroom, please make sure to tell the DJ to STOP cutting the ABBA songs. Thanks.

  • ABBA-SOULUTELY FABULOUS!!!

by Disco pants on 4/16/25Delmar Hall - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

I loved the music, the host was amazing and friendly the venue was great with very friendly and helpful staff and the music was the best par for an ABBA-Haulic like myself!

  • AMAZING

The Dj was super fun! Played the best songs and we all had blast the entire night!

  • Awesome DJ

by Jazzy on 4/14/259:30 CLUB - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great experience. That was my third Gimme Gimme Disco and the DJ was the best ever. He really engaged the audience. Had a blast!!!

  • It Was An Interesting Night

by ABBA Dancer on 4/7/25Teragram Ballroom - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

If this is a review of THE TERAGRAM BALLROOM, please tell PATRICK the dj to stop cutting the ABBA songs early in the beginning or cutting them short too early. I enjoy his vibe getting everybody all worked up for the music, but it really is annoying when the dj cuts the music too soon or cuts the beginning of the song early. I want to hear the music all of the song from the beginning to the end. Overall, it's fun dancing to disco music from the 1970's and 1980's. I hope it opens more dates in California very soon.

  • I Loved That It Went On and On and On!

by ABBA Dancer on 4/7/25Constellation Room - Santa AnaRating: 5 out of 5

Karem from San Diego did an awesome job! I hope he's at the Ventura Music Hall on Friday (04/11/2025) too. The venue was just the right size for dancing. Normally, The Observatory main room SUX for dancing, the floor is too sticky and it's uneven. The Constellation Room was perfect! I know I'm going anger ABBA haters, this venue plays a LOT of ABBA. I had a blast! The music kept moving, but that stage got way too packed fast. The MJ impersonator was fun to see. I also enjoy when he impersonates Freddie Mercury from Queen too. The setlist of ABBA songs by year: Honey Honey and Waterloo (1974), Mamma Mia and SOS (1975), Dancing Queen, Money Money Money, and When I Kissed the Teacher (1976), Angel Eyes, As Good As New, Chiquitita, Does Your Mother Know, Gimme Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight), Voulez-Vous (1979), Lay All Your Love On Me, On and On and On, and Super Trouper (1980). It was mega packed in The Constellation Room that night (04/04/2025) which is a Friday night. I'm going again this Friday to Ventura and Saturday downtown in Los Angeles at The Teragram. Keep up the good work Gimme Gimme Disco and Karem the DJ you were on FIRE!

  • Good event, could be better, but I enjoyed it

by Rennysan on 4/1/25Rose Music Hall - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

I enjoyed the party disco with my neighbor, but it could be better if you made more lights effect and improve a little in mixing music. But overall it was a great event in a great place.

  • Fun!

by Lanie on 3/25/25The Underground - CharlotteRating: 4 out of 5

I’ve been before and have enjoyed it! This one, however, was not my favorite. I knew they’d play more than abba but I feel like they played more 70s and 80s music and not enough abba. also, the dj talked a lot in between the songs. I don’t mind him interacting with the crowd but I was there to dance and sing, not stand around in the quiet for a hot minute. i also wish there were more mashups of songs like in the past. it was fun, just not my favorite i’ve been to

  • Disco 🪩 Fever

by John Dumas on 3/25/25Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Fun night! Played great music floor was bumping! Definitely go again when it comes to Vegas again

  • Non-stop Dancing!!

by Bboy Ruckus on 3/24/25Big Night Live - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

If your legs can withstand dancing all night... I’d say go! It was action packed from the start. Makes you want it to be every single weekend! Words cannot describe how much fun it was. You’ll have to experienceit to see what I mean. Song after song, they keep you movin, and groovin allllll… night… long!

  • DJ could’ve been better

by Whitty on 3/24/25Big Night Live - BostonRating: 2 out of 5

Great crowd without feeling overcrowded. Fun people but the Big Night Live DJ could’ve been better. He just played songs and then when it ended there would be like 5 secs of silence in between and no mixing of records to keep the music flowing, sometime would even loop the same song to have it playing for like 10 mins. House of blues DJ was a lot better and interactive

  • It was such an ABBAsolutely Fun Night!

by Abba Dancer on 2/25/25Riverside Municipal Auditorium - RiversideRating: 5 out of 5

I drove to Riverside for this new venue location from Downey. It was the smallest venue for Gimme Gimme Disco for me though. Karem from San Diego was our DJ for the night. He did his best to play a lot of different disco hits and ABBA songs which I prefer. He played a total of 15 different ABBA songs in the 3 hours that he played. I can't complain. I wish Gimme Gimme Disco was every weekend in every month just like New York and New Jersey is. I'm bummed out there are no local events on February 28th or March 1st this weekend. I'm going to the next one at The Teragram Ballroom downtown next Friday (March 7th) which is a good venue to play disco songs and have fun on the stage when you get the chance to show off.

  • 'gimme gimme disco' = beg for disco music to be played...

by the wiggles on 2/25/25The Masquerade - Hell - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5

Show ended quite early, a lot of non-disco songs were played, strange stage crew - felt like i was watching a kids 'disco brought to you by temu wiggles', also felt like the dj/djs were just playing pre made remixes that were from other artists. all around very strange and a waste of money

  • Good time once

by NotOldISwear on 2/18/25Big Night Live - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

This was my second time going. Had a great time the first go around but apparently forgot about parts I didn't like in the moment before. We went to a show that had open doors at 5:30 and the crowd was overwhelmingly older (power to them, they danced hard). It was good people watching and seeing everyone's outfits. Downsides: The bass was so loud that I could feel it through my ear plugs and my fiance even ask me to plug his ears at one point. The song transitions are horrendous. Left early because they transitioned from disco to more 70s music.

  • Good Tunes, Good Outfits, Small Venue

by GA on 2/17/25Empire Underground - AlbanyRating: 4 out of 5

Pretty fun event. The music was almost entirely actual disco, with a few non-disco songs thrown in (that the crowd very obviously wasn't into, so not many played). I left after 2.5 hours, when we had gotten through the best disco hits and it was a lot of unknown stuff. Almost everyone was dressed on theme and it was awesome! I had a little bit of an issue with the venue being pretty small, we filled it and I kept getting crowded out of where I was dancing by big groups, but that's not the event's fault. Side note: disco has a long history with LGBT people, but as far as i could tell as someone LGBT, there didn't seem to be that many there. So, if you're looking for an event specifically to meet like-minded individuals, this isn't that. tl;dr: mostly good music, good vibes, the barriers in the venue should have been moved back. Lost a star because it was mostly same-y unknown songs after 11, could be better paced.

  • A Fun Night of ABBA and Disco!

by ABBA Disco Dancer on 2/11/25Teragram Ballroom - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Reece, the DJ encouraged everyone to get into the music. It was a short evening because it started at a late time. It started crowded, but people started leaving early before 1 am. ABBA setlist- Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight), Take A Chance On Me, Voulez Vous, Fernando, SOS, Angel Eyes, Super Trouper, Waterloo, Dancing Queen, If It Wasn't For the Nights, Lay All Your Love On Me, Mamma Mia. You're lucky if you get 1 ABBA song at a disco venue ever. This was a fun night for me even though I have arthritis in both hips. I left atv1 a.m. instead.

  • Disappointing

by Disco on 2/11/25Teragram Ballroom - Los AngelesRating: 2 out of 5

I’ve been to the one in San Diego and it was so much fun! Packed with a full house, lots of decorations, engagement from the DJ. But this was soo weird and dead. There were only about 25 people scattered across the room. No decorations. DJ said nothing, just an old guy standing like a stone on the stage lip syncing the songs into a mic that was turned off. He was kind of humor though. Shout out to that guy.

  • Great night out!

by Mid-life Momma on 2/6/25Delmar Hall - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Such a fun night! High energy, good vibes, everyone there to dance dance dance. Such a diverse crowd--all ages, races, gender identities! The volume was perfect--loud enough to make you shake you rump and sing along, but not so loud that you had to scream at friends when sitting at a table. LOTS of ABBA, they basically play every one of their hits. This was fine with me, but my friend hit the eye rolls after about the 5th ABBA song. Perfect girls' night.

  • Exciting Event

by MOBILE MARTY on 2/4/25Delmar Hall - Saint LouisRating: 3 out of 5

First time here at Delmar Hall. Nice place. Friendly staff. Got there early so as to get a good table (recommended as the place fills up fast) and parking. When the music started there were plenty of people on the dance floor. As the first hour progressed, the dance floor was packed with a ‘young’ crowd who were very appreciative of the dee jay and the music. By ‘young’ I mean college age to 30’s. Sound system was very good. Since I was a New York disco dee jay for twenty years, playing at all the clubs in the city, the songs were kind of bland for me. I was expecting music that would be “mixed”, non-stop (as they were back then) by the dee jay instead of just playing one song after another. There were many songs by Abba, who I love, just too many as was stated in a previous review. There are thousands of great disco songs from the 70’s and 80’s that could have been played. I give a great big ‘good job’ by the female dee jay as far as getting the crowd in an uproar. Still glad I went. This is probably the closest to real disco music here in St. Louis. If you ever want to hear a NYC dee jay that still spins vinyl on his turntables, let me know :-)

  • It was such an ABBAsolutely Fun Night!

by Abba Dancer on 1/30/25Teragram Ballroom - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

I went last Saturday night (Jan. 25th, 2025) downtown at the Teragram Ballroom. I won't lie, it was really quiet for the first 30 minutes before the event started. BAM! Around 10:30 or later, it was JAM PACKED! This is the busiest I've seen at the Teragram for Gimme Gimme Disco. Normally, I'm not crazy about this particular DJ (Patrick), but he made up for a lot of times I was disappointed. He kept on throwing down the music! He cut 1/8 of the ABBA songs from the beginning, but he played quite a few songs from ABBA including- Angel Eyes, Fernando, Chiquitita, Ring Ring (1973), The Winner Takes It All (cut it short though). I really was surprised. He threw in a few 90's and 2000's songs, but it didn't take away from the fun. I am looking forward to returning back to the Teragram Ballroom on Feb. 8, 2025 which is a 3-day weekend from work. Keep em coming Gimme Gimme Disco, we need more dates in February for the Los Angeles area or at least San Diego if not. Very pleased, I went home exhausted from having so much fun. The quartet of the stage dancers was nice that night for entertainment too.
