  • very disappointed

by Peewee on 5/16/22House of Blues San Diego - San DiegoRating: 1 out of 5

I think this is total false advertisement. By the photo above, i thought this was a tribute band to Abba. Never did i think this was a costume party with a DJ playing Abba songs and a guy jumping around like Chris Farley on the stage to get people to cheer him on. I thought it was completely lame and never expected the people that attended to swarm the stage as if a real band was playing. It was unbelievable and a total farse. I am telling a lot of people about this. Total sham

  • Music, DJ’s need DJ Class 101

by Mike on 5/16/22House of Blues San Diego - San DiegoRating: 3 out of 5

While the music selection and vibe was great. I felt the DJs were playing a playlist off Spotify and not actually DJing a show. Songs were play for too long, and not cross faded. Often I heard the track lowering volume as if you listening on a CD. I would have preferred the DJ to mix between the tracks much much better. Also, I would like the songs to be cued better? Disco songs are long, I don’t think we need to hear the full song. DJ needs better technical skills at mixing, cross fading and cueing.

by Erick on 5/2/22House of Blues Chicago - ChicagoRating: 1 out of 5

Since y’all asked again. It was boring. Guy played almost nothing you could dance to. Africa by Toto? Please. Save your $20.

  • Bad DJ!!!!

by Kenn on 5/2/22House of Blues Chicago - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

This event was disappointing. The music was not loud enough and much of it was not pure disco or even disco remixes. The DJ had never mixed any music and appeared to be just playing songs off his laptop. He kept interrupting the music and speaking in between songs, about his family members and life experiences. I had never heard of him and did not care about him or his family at all. The event was emptying out. It should have been as wonderful as it was marketed to be.

  • Awful

Just a guy playing his Spotify playlist. Do not spend $$ on this

  • Just a playlist at a venue

    by 2022 on 5/2/229:30 CLUB - WashingtonRating: 2 out of 5

was expecting a mix or a DJ-type situation, but turns out to just be two people playing songs from a playlist and renting out the venue. For so much hype, I kind of expected more.

  • Bleh, mediocre

by Erick on 5/2/22House of Blues Chicago - ChicagoRating: 2 out of 5

About 40% of what he played was actually disco. Could not dance to the rest of the songs he was playing. Don’t recommend

  • Great venue. Not disco.

by Hel on 5/2/22House of Blues Chicago - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

I love HOB Chicago. My criticism of the event is in the marketing and performance. There was one DJ on the stage performing the entire show/event, and he did not personify disco at all. He was wearing a muscle t, skinny jeans and a baseball cap. There was no disco style. And hardly any disco music was played, mostly 80s and early 90s classics. Think Whitney Houston and Queen. Donna Summer was played once in the last 20 minutes of the show. I don't think he understood the point of the show. I was expecting Saturday Night Fever circa 2022. It could have been so much more.

  • It was ok

    by D. G. on 4/26/22The Observatory - Santa AnaRating: 2 out of 5

It was ok. It was over at 11pm which I didn’t not know before hand so for a $27 ticket it was not worth it. There were not that manny people there which was a good thing so my group had space to dance together but I’m not sure why it ended so early.

  • Crowded

by Liz on 4/25/22Big Night Live - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Club was terribly overbooked with no dancing room and too much shoving literally everywhere you went

  • Such a fun time

by Rachel on 4/25/22Big Night Live - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

The music was amazing, DJ had a lot of energy and interacted with the crowd, and everyone’s disco outfits were incredible! 🕺🏻🪩

  • Incredible

by Grizz on 4/18/22The Depot - Salt Lake CityRating: 5 out of 5

My only regret is not dressing more stylish. Drinks were amazing, environment was super safe, and the music was never slow or boring. We had a hard time finding a song to sit down and take a break to!

  • Fun but needs more ABBA

by Erika on 4/13/22Summit - DenverRating: 3 out of 5

Took an ABBA obsessed friend for her birthday. Very fun, but started way later than the tickets said, and the DJ only played like 7 or 8 ABBA songs all night. The music was good just not on theme.

  • SO MUCH FUN

by CH on 4/12/22Bogart's - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

Loved how everyone went all out for the theme, the DJ was also great!!

  • Feeling alive again

by TheDavidGomes on 4/12/22Bogart's - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

An amazing time for with friends in Bogart’s. This event was way better than I expected. The energy was like an celebration of life. The staff was incredibly lovely, it was really use to get in, the songs was a unique momento for me. The best party to celebrate after so many days spent at home isolated thinking that this whole situation was “the end of the world”. I feel alive again.

  • Absolutely ridiculous

by Kenna on 4/12/22The Depot - Salt Lake CityRating: 1 out of 5

Went on my friend’s 21st birthday and they wouldn’t let her in because her license was technically “expired”

  • Gimme Gimme Some More

    by N on 4/12/22Bogart's - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

The disco was amazing! One of the best nights of my life. Themed drinks, hours of dancing on end, and a DJ that got the crowd hyped up made for a fun-filled tribute to 70s music.

  • Gimmie more

by Sspend on 4/12/22The Depot - Salt Lake CityRating: 3 out of 5

Don’t get me wrong, I had a really fun time at this event. But charging people $20+ to hear a gal push play on a 70’s playlist felt like a ripoff. I got the impression that she doesn’t even really know how to DJ, as there were very few transitions between songs and even moments of silence between songs. Not to mention her equipment was setup on a sad plastic folding table, without even a table cloth. I loved the music and had a good time, but I feel you could have put in a little more effort to make the experience more immersive (disco balls on the stage, a better DJ booth, Gogo dancers, video and lights) and worth the price of the ticket

  • Disappointed

    by 70s on 4/12/22Summit - DenverRating: 2 out of 5

While the idea was fun, the execution was bad! The DJ was horrible. He literally pushed play and shouted , “let’s go Denver” into the microphone and that was it. There was no mixing of songs, remixes, segues, nothing. The crowd would get hyped at the start of a song but 3-4 minutes later as the song was still playing, the crowd energy would die. We left after 2 hours and went to another club with a much better DJ. We had high hopes for the night but were so disappointed. I could have DJ’d better than the guy who we paid for!!
