Overall it was fun but the video was complete opposite of audio. When Abba songs played they werent on screen, and vice versa.whole audio/video experience was totally off. But overall still had fun,it was worth it!!
Friendly bouncers, quick entrance, we ate and had a few cocktails at the HOB restaurant before the Disco. The whole crowd had that 70’s vibe! Dressed in 70’s and complimenting each other all night! Ready for the next one!!
Super fun. Loved that everybody dressed up. Just wish it lasted a bit longer
The start time on the ticket was wrong, so there was a massive line to get in. Some folks didn't get in until well into the show. The DJ didn't seem to be actually doing much, rather just playing parts of songs from the 70s, 80s and 2010s. There was so much opportunity for the video projections and the music to be additive to the experience, especially for the cost of the ticket, but instead it felt like walking into any bar that wanted to have an Abba night and turned on the jukebox. Overall, I'm not mad I went but I definitely would not pay to do this again.
The event was somehwat msleading. We thought this was a live music event...possibly disco tributes, but it was a DJ. It started out fun and many antendees dressed the part, but the DJ strayed from disco music after 2 hours.
I loved it but they didn’t start playing ABBA until awhile into the event
Loved the energetic DJ who was just in love with 70s and 80s music as the crowd. He played all the classic hits and dropped great beats and mixes. He really got the crowd going. We had the best night ever!!
prior to the Disco DJ, they played a soundtrack that was rock and roll. Would have preferred disco and dance music. Also the Disco DJ started at 10 pm. Why so late. I give the night 3 stars.
The first time I went, I loved it. They had tons of water and the DJ was so hype! The second time was okay, the bartenders were very stingy with water, and told us we had to fill our cups in the bathroom sink. The DJ was not as exciting the second time, and there wasn't as much of a flow. Transition from song to song was pretty abrupt, and sometimes it was awkward. Overall it was fun though.
Music was great and venue was nice and spacious. I couldn’t have asked for a better date/dance night with my girlfriend. The place was not packed but the vibe was great and everyone in the bar seemed to have a great time. Everyone was dressed up 70s style which lended itself the the experience. Already looking to purchase tickets to go again!!! Recommend for anyone, single or in a relationship
I really liked the atmosphere and the DJ! It was a great experience for me. The only problem I might see is a lack of free seats lol. Upgraded seats cost $30 per table (2 people). But it was still enjoyable!
I had so much fun at one point I told my friends I wished it was my birthday because I was having so much fun!! I will definitely go to a Gimme Gimme Disco in the future!
DJ wasn’t as good as previous discos I had attended. Staff at venue was friendly and helpful, some basic drink ingredients weee out of stock.
I had so much fun at this event. I met so many people and I’m glad I didn’t have to worry about meeting anyone too young or anything. The bar tender was super nice and music choices were up to the people to request
There was no disco ball unfortunately which I felt was a missed opportunity. The DJ played the songs in their full length, and not "club mixes" either so it got a bit monotonous at times. They both had great stage presence. The song selection was good until they started replaying songs which was odd. The venue ran out of water in the coolers a few times. All in all, it was well worth the price and experience, but I feel that it could have been elevated with a few of these modifications.
We thought we just going for a distraction from the usual weekend funness ... Turned out to be a night for the record books!!! The energy from the DJ and the crowd created a moment in time to last a life time!!! Ok .... Im instantly a fan !!! Thanks to everyone on the stage and present there ....Everyone was awesome!!!! Soo Many beautiful people !!!
Don’t market it with ABBA if you’re only gonna play a feel ABBA songs dude. Great production, loved the general playlist. But I paid good money to hear ABBA spin all night. Felt like a bait and switch to hear an ABBA song play then not hear one for a long time after.
Admittedly, I had high expectations for this event, but my friends and I agreed that it let down even modest expectations. The problem was that the DJ played far too little ABBA and did not change songs quick enough. He let every song play the full amount, not switching to the next song until the previous ended. What resulted was a slog of low-energy and low-momentum disco dancing. If he played more ABBA or more bangers and kept the songs coming, the energy would have been much higher.
The DJ played the whole song every time and did not even bother to blend each one together. Anyone with a playlist could have done what he did and probably better too. he didn't even download all the songs so in the middle of the show he had a wifi problem. The lights were also way too bright. If it wasn't a paid show and Abba wasn't as brilliant as they are, the place would have been empty by 10 pm.
