  • One of the most fun times I ever had!

    by E. M. on 10/16/22Varsity Theater - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

I seriously can't describe how perfect the Gimme Gimme Disco was because no words can accurately encompass how much fun it was! So many people were dressed in disco clothes, and the vibe everyone had was immaculate. Everyone was so kind, and we were all excited to be there and to dance! The disco songs were PERFECT! So much fun to dance to and sing along with. The DJ was friendly and hilarious and had great moves as well. Honestly this was one of the most fun nights of my life, and I can't wait to do it again!

  • Literally the Best

    by M. A. on 10/12/22The Masquerade - Heaven - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

It was so freaking awesome. The lights, music, DJ, people- all absolutely amazing. 11/10 recommend.

  • One of the best experiences ever!

by Dragana on 10/11/22The Loft - PoughkeepsieRating: 5 out of 5

I’m in my late 40s and I went to this event thinking that I will be surrounded by the people of my own age, not expecting that the younger crowd would be interested in this as much. Boy was I wrong. The majority of the audience was in the 20s and boy, were they enjoying this. This was such a magical experience, with both young and old, singing their hearts out and dancing to the music of the 70s. It was truly once in a lifetime experience. I look forward to visiting one of these events again soon!

  • Best Night Ever!

by DancingQueen on 10/10/22Varsity Theater - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Had the best night on the town with my friends!! The music did not disappoint, the vibes were immaculate, and the DJ was very nice and took pictures with us afterward. 10/10 would recommend!!

  • Disappointing

    by M. D. on 10/7/22Rating: 2 out of 5

I went thinking it would be so fun. It was not. First of all, the DJ barely interacted with the crowd. There were no screens either, we just watched him stand on the stage. The transition between songs were non-cohesive, as mentioned by other people in the reviews. The sour cherry on the top was his political announcement when he told the "women" in the crowd to vote for abortion. So disappointing. Some songs were great but overall the show was awful.

  • Everything that you think it is!

by Max on 10/4/229:30 CLUB - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Super fun! I thought only 3 hours wasn't going to be enough time, but it was so exhilarating with so much dancing that 2 hours in we were wiped-out but powered through until the end. ABBA and some similar genre artists along with a couple slower songs just to get a break was perfect. And Josh!!! I might have this man DJ my wedding he was so entertaining! The only thing I would improve upon is that the tickets said it was at 9 when the doors opened at 9 and it didn't start until 10 so a lot of waiting at the beginning.

  • Super Fun!

by Talya Torres on 10/3/22Brighton Music Hall presented by Citizens - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Overall this was a really great experience! An awesome event to go to if you like going out but don't always love the environment of going to a club or bar. The only thing I will say is I wish they had music prepared beforehand- the request system was fun and all but I don't think it should be the only thing to rely on.

  • The venue was great but the staff was outta sight

by Elliot on 9/13/22Roxian Theatre - PittsburghRating: 5 out of 5

I danced too hard and the sole of my shoes started to peel off, I went down to the coat check and asked the staff if they had tape, sure enough they got me some duct tape and managed to keep my dancing shoes intact for the rest of the night!!

  • Lacking

by Roseanne on 9/13/22Roxian Theatre - PittsburghRating: 2 out of 5

Good music, for sure, even though it wasn't only 70's music. Annoying there were 80's and even 90's music. HORRIBLE DJ. He literally stood and did nothing during the show. His transitions were noncohesive with the BPM's not even matching up. It was like attending a wedding with a free DJ...except I PAID to for this. Awful, we left early

  • This event was AMAZING!!!

by Erin on 9/13/22House of Blues Cleveland - ClevelandRating: 5 out of 5

So much fun, the energy from the DJ instantly set the tone and the crowd was super engaged. Sang and danced my heart out!

  • It was fun, but..

by Anita on 9/12/22The Observatory - Santa AnaRating: 3 out of 5

The music was great! On theme with the event. However, I don’t think the DJs did that amazing of a job at transitioning songs. I genuinely think they tried their best, and maybe I was expecting the event to be a little different. But there was a lot of talking in between songs and the repeated “Santa Ana how are you doing” which was fine a couple times but I feel like it was in between every song. And when songs did transition to the next, it usually was after the entire song ended and it wasn’t smooth at all. I felt like we were listening to a Spotify playlist. There was also a lot of dancing on stage by one of the girls, which I get it if her job is to be a hype woman. If that was the case, it would’ve been cool to see her at least dress like the theme. The best parts of the show where when people from the crowd joined in and when the guy (I think his name was Richard??) danced/lip sang to Queen songs. He had the exact energy the venue wanted and he was dressed on theme. If this event was created by the two girls DJing, kudos to them. This is a genius idea and I think if their performance was polished a bit it could be a huge ticket seller. They have the right idea, but should work on the executions.

  • Worst DJ ever.

    by D. C. R. on 9/7/22Rating: 1 out of 5

Seriously went with a big group and the DJ was horrible. Hardly played any ABBA, would somehow mess even that up even tho he was just pressing play and gallivanting around. They played a ton of 80s stuff and repeated songs a ton. It was kind of embarrassing. Will never go to one of these nights again!

  • Drunk DJ? Disappointing flow.

by Jason on 9/5/22The Regent Theater - Los AngelesRating: 2 out of 5

Great venue, disco ball and positive-energy people who turned out to dance. But the DJ? He accidentally stopped and started songs, had two songs playing at the same time and didn’t realize it, and annoyingly after every song he’d break to silence and get on the mic asking how everyone was doing. It was weird, embarrassing and of course continued to break any flow that should be part of a night out dancing.

  • End time? :/

by Calvin on 8/30/22House of Blues San Diego - San DiegoRating: 2 out of 5

Yeah I showed up kinda late… at like midnight. But I thought disco stuff in general both historically and currently went quite late. Upon arriving at the House of Blues I saw a locked venue and I was kinda surprised that it had already ended unless they just stopped letting people in? Anyways in the future I’d really love to see an ending time posted along with the start time and now I know not to assume that everything goes till 2:00.

  • I could have done a better job than the DJ

by Lauren on 8/30/22Summit - DenverRating: 2 out of 5

Although I had a good time overall, the DJ was less than subpar. If I'm going to an event with a DJ, I would expect him to put a little bit of effort into it. All he did was press play; songs were played from start to finish with zero mixing. I could do a better job than him.

  • Gimme gimme my money back

by Ann on 8/27/22House of Blues Chicago - ChicagoRating: 1 out of 5

This was the most disappointing event I’ve ever been to at the HOB. The event began at 10:30pm so we arrived around 10:50pm thinking it wouldn’t be an issue. We waited outside in line for OVER an hour. Completely ridiculous to not get into the event until midnight. Why on earth weren’t they properly staffed to make sure the lines were running smoothly? Once inside we were forced to wait in line again for bag check- even though our bags were small enough to keep on us. And this was confirmed once we reached the front of that line. We finally made our way into the event, pumped to hear ABBA and Disco hits, just for the DJ to miss the mark. We only heard 2 ABBA songs and maybe 2 other Disco Classics. The DJ was playing Bruno Mars, Toto, Cyndi Lauper, SWEET CAROLINE, and even modern dance music, such as Higher Love. I paid $20 to go to an ABBA disco night- not to hear the same music you can hear at every other bar on a Friday night for free. The DJ at one point said he felt like he was losing the crowd and that it was uncomfortable. Talk about laughable. We left after enduring an hour of this and went home. I would’ve had more fun putting on Spotify’s Disco Hits playlist and staying home.

  • BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE

by YourAverage21YO on 8/24/22House of Blues Chicago - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

YOU MUST GO AND PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HOUSE OF BLUES DO IT EVERY 2 MONTHS! It was amazing!!!

  • Overall happy

by Geeg on 8/23/22House of Blues Chicago - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

The event was supposed to start at 10:30pm but it didn't actually begin until closer to midnight and ended at 1:30 am. It felt fairly short. I really enjoyed the music though! The DJ was very energetic and I had an overall pleasant experience. Wish it had been longer. Some of the songs did not fit in with the 70s vibe (Uptown Funk..) but for the most part the music was enjoyable.

  • SO MUCH FUN!

by Annie on 8/23/22Delmar Hall - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

went to the show at Delmar Hall in STL- song choices were GREAT, energy/crowd was amazing, everyone was having a great time and everyones outfits were so fun and on theme!!! One of the most fun nights I’ve had in a long time!!

  • Gimme gimme a lil more

by Meg on 8/23/22House of Blues Myrtle Beach - North Myrtle BeachRating: 3 out of 5

It’s not like I didn’t have fun. I did… but it was massively underwhelming. I realize it’s Myrtle beach and it’s not necessarily the place you would expect a disco dance party to pop off but there need to be more lights, more energy, and a little more piZAZ. Dj definitely did his best but it definitely could have been more than it was
