  • Not enough abba

by Wherewasabba on 8/16/25The Masquerade - Hell - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

We were at the disco for 90 minutes but left after hearing only 3 ABBA songs. We would’ve liked to stay longer but many of the songs being played were soooo long and just didn’t fit the vibe. I’d suggest reducing the ratio of not abba songs to abba songs from 4:1 to 2:1 and only playing 90-120 seconds from each song. No one has all night to wait to have a good time. Bringing people up on stage for the Rasputin dance was great though. Fav part

  • Fun, could have been more interactive

by Dianne on 8/11/25Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton BeachRating: 3 out of 5

Fun time, love that everyone wore disco outfits. Music could have included a lot more of the most popular disco hits. The screens could have been put to better use, like showing videos or people dancing. I thought they would bring dancers onstage. The lighting was only ok. Half the night was too many lights on. This is my favorite venue, so was expecting more.

  • Nice and organized

by AG on 8/11/25Marquis - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

First time at the event like this and my wife's and I were very nicely surprised. Great venue, clean and under control, security very professional and on top of everything. Great DJ, great mixed music. For sure we will be back to this venue and looking forward to more Gimmie Gimmie Disco DJ.

  • Dollars Discoed out of my pocket

by Cody on 8/6/25Delmar Hall - Saint LouisRating: 1 out of 5

I was thoroughly disappointed. I went to an event that was advertised as Disco music. In my opinion a couple of songs isn't what I was expecting. I am not a DJ and could have made better song selections that would have represented the Disco era.

  • Genuinely amazing

by Wil on 7/16/25The Parish at House of Blues Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

Great crowd, great music, and overall a great night. Definitely bring drugs though.

  • ABBA-Salutely Delicious!

by ABBA Dancer on 7/15/25The Parish at House of Blues Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

Reece was on FIRE this past Saturday at the Parish Room in the House of Blues Anaheim. He kept the energy going despite having some health problems earlier in the day. This was Reece's best set ever! I couldn't stop dancing all night. I hope he is at the next one in Los Angeles soon. They don't host Gimme Gimme Disco enough in California, especially in Southern California. He played 15 ABBA songs too! Waterloo (1974), Mamma Mia and SOS (1975), Dancing Queen and Fernando (1976), Take A Chance On Me (1977), Angeleyes, Chiquitita, Does Your Mother Know, Gimme Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight), If It Wasn't For the Nights, Voulez Vous (1979), Lay All Your Love On Me, Super Trouper, The Winner Takes It All (1980). He was open to requests and he did his best to play what you asked too. I hope it returns soon! Keep up the good work Reece.

  • Abbasolutely fun night!

by ABBA Disco Dancer on 6/17/25The Observatory - Santa AnaRating: 5 out of 5

The Observatory was packed on Saturday night. Reece was our DJ. He kept the energy going for a while too. He played lots of ABBA and Disco too. It was great to get back to Gimme Gimme Disco again. Im flying to Austin on the 20th for Gimme Gimme Disco too. I wish it would open more events in California soon.

  • If This Is For HOB San Diego, Bring Karem Back!

by ABBA Dancer on 5/30/25House of Blues San Diego - San DiegoRating: 3 out of 5

review for House of Blues (San Diego) only. On this particular night, I thought it was going to be fun. It was Memorial Day Weekend, and I had Monday off. The female DJ looked good from her Disco outfit. This young lady needs more training. She kept on cutting into each song early and never let them at close to finish. She cut at least 90% of the songs, especially tons of ABBA she would cut short. I felt like I wasted my night coming to this particular GGD event for ONCE. I travel to Seattle, Dallas, Austin, San Francisco, San Diego, Fresno, Ventura, Sacramento, Phoenix, and Las Vegas for GGD! I hope they are reading this review (the GGD producers), this DJ needs more training please.

  • Disco Fever

  • Good but not better than before

by TonyManero on 5/27/25Marquis - DenverRating: 3 out of 5

The venue wasn't as open as the Summit, but it was better suited for the smaller crowd. This was the eighth Gimmi Gimmi I've attended, and one of the things that made past events so special was how the DJs played full songs and stayed true to the disco era. Unfortunately, the DJ last Saturday night broke from that tradition—mixing in a lot of '80s music and attempting old-school scratching, which disrupted the vibe. The previous DJs helped build excitement with better music choices and by dressing the part, capturing the spirit of the event more authentically.

  • The First Time It Was 3 Full Hours!

by ABBA Dancer on 5/21/25Teragram Ballroom - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

I won't lie, this is the first time Gimme Gimme Disco played a full 3 hours at the Teragram Ballroom in downtown Los Angeles. The majority of the music was very good. The only con is that the dj (he knows who he is) kept starting some of the ABBA songs late or cut them off early. I had a great time this night. I can't wait for another night of dancing in San Diego this Saturday (May 24th) at The House of Blues.

  • The First Time It Was 3 Full Hours!

by ABBA Dancer on 5/16/25The Depot - Salt Lake CityRating: 5 out of 5

I expected this night to be closed early because when I arrived around 10:00 pm, it looked like nobody was attending. For the first 20 minutes the DJ (Patrick) allowed us to choose any ABBA/Disco song we wanted to hear. I chose an ABBA song which nobody knew, purposely! He played it. Next, about 25 minutes later, the venue was PACKED! Mind you, Los Angeles was in the high 90's on this Saturday (05/10/2025). The air conditioner works WELL in this place. The security was polite too. He played some weird songs which weren't DISCO though. Overall, I got my Gimme Gimme Disco fix for the weekend. I also flew into San Francisco the night before (Friday May 9th). I just wish Patrick would stop cutting songs like Mamma Mia or Money Money Money in the beginning. However, he surprised me with the finale at the end of the morning (1:30 a.m.). He played ABBA's Thank You For the Music until it ended. That was my whole happiness for that weekend. It was worth my time and effort. He started playing around 10:30 pm. I'm glad that Gimme Gimme Disco comes at least once a month to Los Angeles, I hope more pop up in June and July and August soon.

  • Disappointed

by AM on 5/15/25Teragram Ballroom - Los AngelesRating: 1 out of 5

Wasn’t a fan. Been to other 70s events and this felt quite amateur event. DJ was not mixing in between songs very well.

  • It Was a Fun Night

by ABBA Dancer on 5/11/25Ace of Spades - SacramentoRating: 5 out of 5

The DJ was a woman who played a lot of different songs. I wish it would have lasted longer though. It was a fun night for me.

I’ve gone to Gimme Gimme Disco events for the past 4 years across multiple states. It’s such a good time. Disco music from each decade. Every one has good auras and energy! Love going to these events!

I'm not sure which venue this is a review for, but if it's for the Constellation Room in Santa Ana it was beyond fun with the DJ, Karem. Please bring more of these to Southern California or San Francisco, Fresno, Sacramento, and San Diego more frequently. PLEASE! Forever an ABBA and Disco fan in Southern California.
