    A TIME

by Abby on 4/10/24House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

Im going every year now. The most fun event I have gone to in a while. How do I become friends with the DJ asking for a friend?

    Amazing time

by DiscoQueen on 4/9/24Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

This is the 2nd time I have attended this event. It is so well attended, I love that there are people of all ages, that everyone dresses for Disco and everyone dances. There is nothing bad about this event and....drinks are a great price! I WILL go again.

    It was fun

by Emily on 4/9/24The Masquerade - Hell - Atlanta

Disco was very fun! I wish that the songs were more Dj’d instead of playing the entirety of the song and the background graphics were more advanced. Overall great time though

Not as good as last year

by Not as good on 4/9/24House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

Music is good but there weren’t as many people as last year. Which you could see affected the ambiance but I think the DJ was better last year. AS ALWAYS THE DRINKS AT HOB ARE WAY TOO EXPENSIVE

    Excellent

by Morocha de Buenos Aires on 4/9/24The Masquerade - Hell - Atlanta

We had so much fun and were dancing for almost two hours. The DJs were fantastic, playing lots of dancing music of my times (I am 57). It was great to see so many young people dancing, having fun, enjoying the great music of the '80s. It was very energizing.

    Eh

by Grod on 4/9/24The Masquerade - Hell - Atlanta

I expected more disco and Abba and this was a mash up of songs from the 70-2000’s

    Very hot

by Milk on 4/1/24The Depot - Salt Lake City

All music was great, absolutely all songs, DJ was not happy, he was inactive, it was very hot near to the stage, it was impossible to be near anything but the bar.

    It was fine.

by Ladyfrog75 on 4/1/24The Depot - Salt Lake City

I’m from the 70’s. She played some disco favorites. And those she had on repeat in between other time period, & other genre & other language songs. The crowd was a giant mosh pit. Other than some of the costumes didn’t feel like a disco at all. And for the drinkers, it was practically impossible to get a drink. we had a VIP spot with a waitress and only a third of our company received drinks some of the time. Turns out there was only one waitress for the whole bar. And the VIP was in a dark corner, where most of us couldn’t see or be a part of anything. We paid a lot of money to not get drinks and not be able to see the crowd. And the wait at the bar was at least half an hour. It looked like it was a lot of fun for the 18-year-olds to get out, dress up, and mosh. Definitely a young crowd environment.

    Low Production

by DancingQueen24 on 4/1/24The Depot - Salt Lake City

It felt like the Salt Lake City show had the third tier Dj. Transitions were horrible, the crowd chose the music, very minimal interaction with the crowd from the dj, light show was subpar, and no disco ball anywhere! I had higher expectations based on the marketing. So much room for improvements and so many missed opportunities. Thankfully the crowd brought the energy!

    Fun Time!

by DancinQueen on 3/27/24Saint Andrew's Hall - Detroit

This was a super fun event, the DJ was high energy and great with the song selection. I was called up on stage twice to dance which was incredible! Danced for 3.5 hours straight and had a blast the whole time.

    Just do it!

by Mini on 3/24/24Big Night Live - Boston

If you love to dance and let loose, come here. I’m an introvert and I didn’t really feel like coming out but a whole new person came out on the dance floor.

It was such an ABBAsolutely Fun Night!

by Aspie4ABBA on 3/18/24House of Blues San Diego - San Diego

The pros outweigh the cons with this particular night. The only con was we were allowed on stage for 2 of the songs at a time and we had to wait for others to have a turn. The DJ was on fire all night long! This guy in a referee shirt was one of the most High Energy DJ's I have seen a LONG TIME! That was a major plus to me. I loved his dancing antics and getting the crowd all riled up! You rock brother! Major Pros- TONS OF ABBA songs all night long including: If It Wasn't for the Nights and When I Kissed the Teacher. A few cons- playing some modern hip hop was a turn-off for me. I wasn't crazy about the concrete floor, but the energy of the crowd was incredible. I know a LOT of people give these events (Gimme Gimme Disco) very bad reviews, but I've been to 6 this year and they are always mega-packed! This one was no exception. I would have worn shorts if it wasn't cold that night. It was like a sauna in that venue! I can't believe how many 18+ love the music of ABBA?!!! I'm in my 50's, so that would be expected but people years younger love ABBA?!! I love it! Some of the 70's outfits were really cool to see too. I loved the people wearing the platform shoes and platform go go boots too. I'm driving up to Fresno on Saturday (March 23, 2024) because of this event! Keep rockin the venues Gimme Gimme Disco, forever a fan in Downey, California! You made my entire year.

    Gimme night

by Rollaapa on 3/4/24The Senate - Columbia

The night was super fun actually it was a good amount of people there and they played good music it felt like people were drunk and high which was nice. Everyone kinda kept to themselves but has a great time no one was super weird to anyone else. There was an incident where the music had to stop and respect to the dj because when people asked him to stop he cut it fast and made sure it was known that he cared for the people in the crowd. The crew or security was nice they were kind of just vibing.

    Disappointing

by Brian on 2/27/24Bogart's - Cincinnati

Not Disco at all. Need a reputable DJ who really knows what Disco is. Don't waste your time on this one. Sad experience. Left early as we felt cheated.

What a fun night. Everyone was dancing and having fun. So nice to see everyone dress up in their disco themed clothes. I'll go again.

    Awesome event

by Old lady on 2/26/24Blue Ocean Music Hall - Salisbury

This event was so much fun! Such a diverse age group came together and danced the night away. The venue was awesome. The DJ did a great job as well keeping the energy up! I’d do this again in a heartbeat!

    Kinda Boring

    by Ray on 2/26/24

I guess I was spoiled from having a DJ friend but this probably was one of the worst “DISCO” sets I’ve heard. And I get it, it was to appeal to the majority but the disco was very commercial, things you hear at weddings. There are so many more artists from that era that could have really made this an awesome party.
