The music was great - boat operator just packs people onto the ship to sell drinks. There is no room to dance or even move around without bumping into people. I’ll try one of the land based Gimme Gimme Disco events next time.
Loved dancing at the Casino and the disco music, just wish there had been more disco. I thought it was awesome how there were all ages there, dressed up and dancing.
It was not made clear that you needed to bring your ID so I was unable to get my friends in and practically wasted my money.
We danced all night! Great music! Very nostalgic! We can’t wait to do it again!
I was very disappointed because I thought that the music would have been all disco but unfortunately it was more techno. I brought a friend for her 60th bday because she loves disco and she also was very disappointed to say the least.
It was everything I hoped for and wanted to go for so long, loved the experience and it was so much fun!!
I CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH, how AWFUL this event was. I grew up in the 70s, so all I know for music is disco. The company should be sued, calling this disco. The songs played were disco HOWEVER , TO A TECHNO BEAT. This was NOT and BYFAR, DISCO! It was VERY LOUD and all people were jumping up & down to dance to it. DJ used F word MULTIPLE times. Everyone in our party was disappointed and there were 2 older ladies (in their early 70s) who were SO DISAPPOINTED, they left in the first 1/2hour. For someone looking for old school disco or studio 54 music, THIS IS NOT FOR YOU! NOTHING BUT A WASTE OF MONEY, which you can't get back!
I was expecting a live band. It was just a guy. Not sure if you could call him a Dj, he barely touched the equipment and the songs sounded just like normal. So the $45 I spent was just for some guy to jump on stage. An hour after the expected start time btw
Hubby and I had an amazing time! Crowd was very happy, good vibes, but then the DJ came out in his underwear, ew. Wasn’t the best platform for that.
Was looking forward to a fun evening filled with disco faves only to realize that disco isn't what it used to be. Disco isn't disco without Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, et al. I'm a Queen fan but don't even try to sell me that they were ever part of the disco era. Very disappointed.

I thought it was going to more like a disco night. The DJ kept stopping after each song to give speech which kind of killed the mood. Also, there was too much "Mamma Mia"for my taste. Lots of great songs were left out.
I'm a big fan of disco and I really like the Pier 17 rooftop venue, so it seemed like a no-brainer that I would like this show. I was wrong. It was terrible. 2 corny guys dressed in gold lame and interrupting perfectly good songs to provide "witty"commentary and dance around like idiots. It was like a bad wedding or Bar Mitzvah act. We all ended up leaving because it was so sophomoric and we were terrified we'd end up embarrassed by appearing on their social media. No self-respecting fan of disco should give these people their money.

THESE GUYS ARE NOT DJ'S. THEY DO NOT KNOW REAL DISCO MUSIC. IT WAS A NIGHT OF THE WHOLE MAMAMIA MOVIE(ABBA). THEY HAD A DRUMMER PLAY FOR A FEW SETS. THERE IS NOT ROCKIN DISCO. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED. I AM 54 YRS OLD AND MY BROTHER WAS AN ACTUAL DJ, SO TRUST AND BELIEVE I KNOW DISCO. WORSE CONCERT.
We had a lot of fun, the two deejays are hilarious, they should come to Belgium and the Netherlands with their show
My girlfriends and I had an incredible night attending the Gimme Gimme Disco event at the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury, New Jersey! The whole vibe was screaming FUN! The two hosts were so entertaining and made the night!! Everyone was dancing and smiling and having a blast! Braless women flaunting our beautiful bodies, feeling free and powerful! It’s sort of felt like a blast from the past… Almost like Woodstock, if I were old enough to have attended Woodstock lol. And of course, being by the ocean… Being at the Stone Pony… It’s a combination of everything for me… The whole night was amazing! We would definitely attend another Gimme Gimme Disco event for “SHORE”!
We had a good time but they played I think the entire Mama Mia soundtrack . ABBA is good but they aren't the stand out of the disco era. They threw in a Donna Summer song, Queen, Earth Wind and Fire and some rock songs that made it ok to be at The Stone Pony. It was a nice night out with an all inclusive age bracket.
DJ Style dance. Great music terrible segues. I mean if we are into awesome music & willing to pay for a special event DJ party. At the very least the segues should be flawless... that part of the gig was disappointing the rest was very high energy & fun.
