  • Already planning next year

Didn’t know what to expect but it was fabulous. Great music - great energy & vibe. Already looking to plan on going next year. Worth seeing.

  • The hype was over exaggerated!

by Amy on 8/23/23Rating: 2 out of 5

Cons: Not many disco hits were played, songs were played from beginning to end barely any mixing by the DJ, later in the evening it switched to 90s pop and felt a little high school gym party then disco party. Drinks were okay. Pros: Nice location, Everyone was dressed up nice and got a few pics.

  • Fun Party. More ABBA Please.

by Christopher on 8/22/23Rating: 4 out of 5

This was a really fun party. The crowd was very excited to be there and the DJs up front were really fun. It felt magical to dance under a mirror ball. I was surprised by how YOUNG the whole crowd was. I'm 40 and felt like the oldest one there. I would definitely attend again to blow off some steam. I have a few small suggestions for improvement: 1. Timing. Can there be more transparency around the start of the main event? I never know with shows. 2. More ABBA. I loved the variety of music played, but was hoping for a few more ABBA tunes to be included. Don't let my nit picks deter you from visiting Gimme Gimme Disco. I'll definitely be back.

  • A Night We Won’t Forget

by Chloe on 8/21/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I don’t know how much I can express on how amazing me and my friends had for gimme gimme disco night. We were celebrating my best friend’s engagement and what better way than dancing and drinking to Abba of course. The staff was amazing, the music was amazing and the atmosphere was something you could let loose and have fun with your girlfriends. I want to make a big shoutout to Danny the manager. He really made us feel special and upgraded us to a bowling lane and even treated us to some drinks and even got us on stage. I also need to make a big shoutout to Monique, Delijah, and the DJ Karem, they all made the night for what it was. Seeing my best friend who got engaged and how much love was given her way was something I am so grateful for and happy I got to experience it with her and our other best friend. I don’t know how to top her bachelorette party now but I know for sure we will be back and can’t wait to dance the night away again. Thank you again to the team at the Brooklyn Bowl, can’t wait to see you guys again!

  • Gimme gimme MORE

by Karina on 8/15/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I loved gimme gimme disco. Amazingly entertained the entire night, Josh and Ava were awesome. Danced to some great music all night!

  • Ridiculously and Unnecessarily Lit

by MQ on 8/15/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Crazy, stupidly fun night. Disco dancing, spontaneous conga lines, and the DJ was SUPER entertaining. We loved his tiny metallic shorts and rhinestone sunglasses. DEFINITELY go if they come to your city. My only suggestion would be that the DJ should go on 30 mins after the start time instead of an hour.

  • Bad DJ

by Michelle on 8/14/23Rating: 2 out of 5

I’m giving this two stars because the DJ did NOT deliver and I only managed to have a decent time because of my friend. It’s called “gimmie gimmie disco” not “Gimmie gimme Taylor swift… Rihanna…”. While modern artists are great, there was a theme and it was not followed. Replace the DJ and maybe you’ll get me there again. Gimmie gimme disco, more like gimmie gimme nothing.

  • Not disco

by Nat on 8/14/23Rating: 3 out of 5

A bit disappointed in the music selection as there were not as many disco songs played. Many songs were played that did not fit the vibe of the event. Not worth paying 40$ in my opinion and will take this experience into consideration the next time.

  • Vibes were great, but the music was not.

by Tee on 8/8/23Rating: 1 out of 5

Venue is awesome! I really like the Observatory. The show itself is… okay. This is my third Gimme Gimme Disco experience and I feel like, although there is a DJ, they’re just playing music from a playlist and pretending to push buttons. I also wish they played more disco era songs to dance to. “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” and “Piano Man” just don’t do that for me. Idk maybe the drinks weren’t strong enough for me..

  • Much room for improvement!

by Rene on 7/31/23Rating: 2 out of 5

Sorry to be upfront about it, but that event really was disappointing. I understand with 80s parties being very popular, the bar is pretty high, but this one did not even get close: The DJ cannot really be called that as they pretty much seemed to just play a playlist with little to no transitions between songs, no relations between songs being played successively, and no interaction with and connection to the crowd whatsoever. Furthermore, the location was way too big for the small number of tickets that were sold, so people left pretty early on to move to different locations and the entire experience seemed like a fail. It was clearly a combination of insufficient management/planning and a bad DJ.

  • Could’ve been a hit

by April on 7/31/23Rating: 2 out of 5

There were a lot of people dressed in their disco era attire. There were 2 people on stage, basically pressing play on a laptop. Pretty low energy. With some more effects and stage presence, this could be a cool event.

  • Changed

by Katie on 7/24/23Rating: 3 out of 5

I’ve been to the past three GIMME disco’s and always had fun. But this one was different and disappointing. The alcohol was sold on the third floor and you weren’t allowed to leave to go to the dance floor with your drink. So you had to drink it upstairs on the balcony. I think this deterred a lot of people, bc the dance floor was empty as a result.

  • Exactly as Advertised

by Anon on 7/24/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Amazing 80s music, dancing, singing, and everything else you’d expect when you buy a ticket. DJ was fun and interacted with the crowd a lot. If you are in to 80s music, I’d definitely recommend.

  • Wonderful experience

by Nathan on 7/24/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Such a great venue! Friendly bartenders and staff, delicious drinks, and a great open floor to dance or listen to music. I love The Depot!

  • DJ Night

by ylo on 7/19/23Rating: 2 out of 5

It was fun but definitely not what I expected /: The DJ let all the songs play through and wouldnt really mix or through a spin at it

  • Was great but..!

by Giovanni Paulo on 7/18/23Rating: 4 out of 5

It honestly was a lot of fun with a few downfalls. Like anything but that’s the point of a review. I’ll keep it short and sweet. Too much abba. They say to recommend music but I paid attention to a good amount of what people were recommending and I heard maybe like 2 Recs be played. I also submitted a ton and none stuck. Lastly, being that the show has a stage, it’s almost like people are geared to look at the stage… not dance and get lost in their own world. I guess not much they can do about that last one but overall. A groovy grime good time. I’ll definitely be at the next.

  • Disappointing

by Keeks on 7/18/23Rating: 1 out of 5

I was so disappointed - the music was absolutely awful. They played Come on Eileen but didn’t play actual disco. I regret going and I had been looking forward to this event for weeks.

  • SO MUCH FUN

    by Amy18 on 7/18/23Rating: 5 out of 5

If you love all things 70s and disco then you for sure want to go to this event. I wasn’t even born remotely close to the 70s and i still had a lot of fun!

  • AMAZING

by Claudia on 7/18/23Rating: 5 out of 5

My friends and I had so much fun at this event. The music was great and everyone was singing and dancing. Would definitely love a repeat of this event.

  • A Young, Expensive Disco

by Zach on 7/18/23Rating: 4 out of 5

Had a decent time here - but the crowd was very young, and the drinks themselves were about $18/ea, which is a little bit insane for a venue in McKees Rocks. Also, a "Disco"dance party quickly stopped playing disco and transitioned to rap, presumably for the youths. It was fine overall, probably better if you're in your early 20s and don't mind paying an arm and a leg for drinks.
