I really enjoy the musical. I love love the movie and was very skeptical of the musical, but I don't regret going. Would totally recommend to go see it. Love the dancers and completely blown away with the stage settings gosh so beautiful to see all the different arrangement on the stage. Great acting peeps.

This event lacked everything. While the actors do have talent, the lyrics and lines were impossible to sing or believe. Oda Mae Brown was truly good but even her lyrics at times were problematic. There were just too many words to fit the melody! Also the ghost on the train was just screaming his rap - it didn't work. We are very disappointed in this production.

    Ghost the Musical

Disappointing. The voices were not as strong. Oda Mae was by far the best and Molly the worst. The techno effects interesting, the songs average. One of the more disappointmenting musicals we have seen.

    not what we expected

by jw54321 on 1/21/14Oriental Theatre Chicago - Chicago

Admittedly it is difficult to go from a movie to a musical production, however, this was hard to sit through. The music wasn't captivating. It was difficult to understand the words in the songs. The lead actors were good, but not great.

    Just good

by joknows on 1/21/14Oriental Theatre Chicago - Chicago

We are a group of 3 couples. The went into this feeling just OK with seeing it. The women wanted to see a romance. The play is exactly like the movie so that is what we expected. The music and singing should have been better.

The acting and store line was very good.. Unfortunately, the orchestra played WAY too loud and some of the singers needed to almost scream out their songs. We heard many make the same comment around us. We were on the main floor row N so the people in front and closer the orchestra pit must have been very unhappy.

    Techno but good

by zotz on 1/21/14Oriental Theatre Chicago - Chicago

The Trib gave this only one star so I wasn't expecting much but even this old lady enjoyed the play (maybe I am just not as knowing as the Trib.) The technology used was good and made it different than the movie. The only thing I thought was a problem was the lights that shined right in to you face every now and then - really people, not needed. The Whoopi role was exceptionally done.

The music was great and the singing was fantastic. My husband and I enjoyed the backdrops and followed the story line easily. I even teared up at the end. I would definitely recommend this to any adult

Mesmerizing! Stage craft & illusions are fantastic. Psychic was played superbly but Sam should have injected some more passion into the role. Overall fantastic and recommended strongly.

Ghost was better than I expected

by SusieQ209 on 1/19/14Oriental Theatre Chicago - Chicago

Visual effects were amazing. Orchestra, soundtrack, and singing was much too loud! Almost screeching at times. Singing and dancing was average, but overall a very entertaining show. Some of the speaking parts were done so fast that it was hard to understand.

Ghosts should not have been a musical

by DRY5 on 1/19/14Oriental Theatre Chicago - Chicago

We thought the lead singers were below par. Left at intermission, a first for us.
