Owen was always the class clown growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio. After high school, he got serious and enlisted in the Navy.
Owen became a military police officer at the Naval Installations on Coronado Island in San Diego. During this time, Owen worked up the nerve to go at a nightclub. After only a year of doing stand-up, he was named "Funniest Serviceman in America."
Then in July of 1997 he auditioned for BET's COMICVIEW. Two appearances on the multi-cultural comedy showcase won him his own one-hour "Grandstand" show. At the end of the season he was selected from the year’s four "Grandstanders" to be the host. Not only is Owen the only white man to have ever hosted COMICVIEW, but he is the only white on-air personality the network has ever had.

It was my husband's birthday gift because he had never seen Gary Owen live before. The show was one of thee best gifts l could have given him. We laughed from the time the opening act took the stage until Gary said good night.
I havnt had laughter in my life for many years due to so many close family passing the worst was my son who loved to make people laugh but since I lost him the guilt I have even just smiling is overwhelming But Gary Owen brought the laughter from deep inside me ,We had great seats up front he was great so the guy that opened for him was good to,4 drink cost $65 with tip bit over priced because they wern't that strong.But over all we had a great time, If you need a laugh Gary Owen will make you feel it in your gut
Venue needs more space bery tight squeeze and with covid an monkey pox ,people need a little more room

I’ve seen Gary 2x before, always hilarious. This time he seemed a little bitter from divorce and searching for material. Show was kind of raunchy. I miss the old Gary. I hope he can find his groove again.
This was such an amazing comedy show. My fiancé laughed so much he we crying all night. Gary is stupid hilarious! Go check him out!

Gary's show was up lifting and hella funny. He handled the hecklers well. I recommend seeing him again. Ticket process was so easy rven I couldn't mess it up.
Loved the show! Best one ive seen from him. The opener was phenomenal as well. I loved this venue because it was intimate and good service!
Had me me laughing from beggining to end. Gary did not disappoint what so ever. I would definitely recommend, and definitely would see again.
You are my favorite comedian and I watch you on YouTube everyday and it’s on my bucket list to see you in person. I live in Mississippi so it would be greatly appreciated if you would come to the landers center in southaven or the FedEx forum in memphis. I would love to see a show in person. Keep up the great work and you’re awesome
I like Gary owen comedy specials a lot. But he took the night off in New Orleans when he came here. Felt like he could have been better. He was funny but sort of felt like he held back. Je gotta come back here and do better next time.
Let me start by giving props to the DJ, he was on point. Had me wanting to get up & dance. The host Sommore was fabulous, funny & fierce. Tony Rock was funny too. But Arnez J stole the show, he had me in tears laughing. Jay Pharoah was not funny until he did his impressions & he was spraying spit during his set ( gross) felt sorry for the front row peeps. Lastly Gary Owens told the exact same jokes as on his "Black Famous" comedy show on cable. Not much to laugh at when you've already heard the jokes. Sorry Gary, but 3 out of 5 comedians isn't bad!
You have to self park if you are not a Diamond member (they can valet). You're not informed that self parking is $10 until you are exiting. Had dinner and a little gambling before the show. Inside the secure ticket check area there isn't a bar to have drinks before the show. You have to get your drinks before entering the secure area. The show was GREAT!!! After the show a little more gambling.
I had great seats and show was nice great time to get out the house venue was cozy.
He was very funny! He didn’t shy away from being in the tabloids($44,000 the amount his soon to be ex wife wants per month alimony) and gave you just enough, and made you want to hear more! This was my second time seeing him and I will definitely go see him again! Laughter is the best!!
The show was great. Gary Owens & Tbone give an outstanding performance. “Meet & Greet” was cool too.
Owen was emotionally genuine and sincere about his very public divorce (withholding details of course) and his dyfunctional upbringing but manage to make the audience laugh through all the relational dystopia. Especially when an adrogynous sounding person started to heckle Owen about his martial grief, his clap back game was just as relentless as the heckler's baritone "female" voice. Overall, I always loved Owen's willingness to be vulnerable and connect with his mostly Black audience. Perhaps he should run "how to be a relatable and humble white man in America" workshops for those caught up in the white patriarch supremacy time warp. Owen knows where bread gets buttered and respects the community that churns it out.
What an outstanding evening we had. From the time we arrived, we enjoyed positive people all around us. The staff was very friendly, and extremely accommodating. The show itself, was awesome. T.Robe started the show off right with his funny jokes and interaction with the audience. Gary Owen, once again, did not disappoint. He was hilarious!!! And was able to handle the few hecklers, shutting them up easily. This has to be the highlight of the year so far.
Gary is hilarious I will be going to any shows he has in the future! We really needed that laugh and he gave it to us 10 fold the whole show!
