With over 25 years in comedy, Gary Gulman has established himself as an eminent performer and peerless writer. It’s no wonder the New York Times wrote, “Gary is finally being recognized as one of the country’s strongest comedians.”
A product of Boston, Gulman has been a scholarship college football player, an accountant, and a high school teacher. He has made countless television appearances as both a comedian and an actor and is one of only a handful of comedians to perform on every single late-night comedy program.
Gulman has made four successful TV specials including his most recent critically acclaimed stand-up special for HBO, The Great Depresh, a tour de force look at mental illness, which is equal parts hilarious and inspiring. In 2019 he appeared in the international blockbuster Joker. He will next be seen co-starring with Amy Schumer in the upcoming Hulu comedy series, Life & Beth, and is currently writing a memoir for Flatiron Books, tentatively titled K Through 12.

In my opinion Gary Gulman is the best standup out there. Or as he might put it , paramount.
Still thinking about things and laughing days later - no easy feat in the current climate. Gary Gulman is quick on his feet, able to stray from his material when a moment calls for it, but gets seamlessly right back to the action, making every performance unique. Not a comedian who picks low hanging fruit, and he never punches down. Philistines, stay home. Every kid who was in the "gifted"program, this one's for us.
I have watched many of Gary’s clips on Facebook and YouTube and laughed out loud at all of them. I was bored with this show. I watched several people leave, and thought about doing the same. His stories have so much potential, but he just drags on and on and you never really feel like you get to a punchline. My husband and I giggled here and there, but this definitely wasn’t a show I’d see again.
Not very funny at all not worth the 130$ I spent on two tickets
After reading Misfit couldn’t wait to catch Gary’s standup show, and I have no regrets about that! His linguistic genius, perceptive details and comedic timing had me laughing out loud. In the next moment his vulnerability in recounting painful childhood memories brought me to tears. Gary Gulman is a true master of his craft who generously shares his thoughtful, albeit personal observations of the world. Such a funny, endearing man…great show!
I’m sorry but it was an awful experience!. He’s voice had no energy. My wife and I really enjoyed attending comedians specially in NY city. My first time attending in Foxwoods Casinos . And it was so bad we were falling a sleep!. We had to leave the show at 8pm and we were extremely disappointed. I’m sorry we are the kind of people that it doesn’t take much to make us laugh. But Gary’s show was way below our expectations. Sorry for the bad review but it was the truth.
The show was fun, but we definitely were not the target audience. I enjoy a good comedian so I didn't do any research. Probably a bigger hit for a slightly older crowd (50s) and definitely for those with Jewish heritage.
We love the Bella as a venue and Gary Gulman is so smart, and so funny. One our best events of the year.
My new fav! He was vulnerable, fascinating and beyond hilarious. Can’t wait to see him again. :)
