About Garden Brothers Circus

Garden Brothers Circus on Tour

You don’t become North America’s longest-running circus troupe by resting on your laurels, and for its 2021 extravaganza, the Garden Brothers Circus stages its most extreme, over-the-top show ever. Garden Brothers Nuclear Circus: Humans Gone Wild features such breathtaking feats as the “Human Slingshot,” “Motorcycles in the Sphere of Fear,” and the infamous “Wheel of Death” (a massive, vertically rotating structure on which acrobats perform death-defying stunts). But it’s not just humans going wild in this show - the Olate Performing Dogs (as seen on America’s Got Talent) will also make an appearance. And of course, it wouldn’t be a Garden Brothers Circus without such classic carnival attractions as jugglers, trapeze artists and a demonstration from the world’s strongest man. Bring the kids early to meet the performers, get face-painted like a superhero and take a ride down the Monster Slide.

Garden Brothers Background

America had the Ringling Bros., and Canada had the Garden Brothers. Both began as small family businesses before setting the gold standard for big-top entertainment in the 20th century. But with the Ringlings’ circus leaving town for good in 2017, the Garden Brothers now stand as North America’s longest-running carnival revue. Its roots date back to the 1920s, when Scottish emigré William Garden and his wife Jean began touring as a song-and-dance act called Garden & Shaw, sowing the seeds for the official launch of the Garden Bros. Circus in 1938. After William passed away in 1954, his Montreal-based sons Ian and Bill assumed control of the operation and turned it into a touring juggernaut, with Ian playing double duty as animal trainer and ringmaster, while his wife Micheline oversaw the technical aspects. After three successful decades at the helm, the couple passed down the reins to their children Richard and Ian Jr., who eventually handed them off to a cousin, ensuring that the Garden Bros. Circus has remained in the family after a century of spectacles.

  • Circus Was OK

by KGre on 10/25/18Bojangles' Coliseum - CharlotteRating: 3 out of 5

They had two elephants you could pay to ride in a small circle on. Bounce houses, face painting prior to the event that was OUTRAGEOUSLY priced. Not many performers so they did multiple acts. I was not impressed. My 7 and 9 year old really enjoyed it though

  • Good but Loud

The talent was amazing ! We were surprised though that there weren't more animals. And it was painfully loud!!

I just didn’t like the halftime part to come back with just 30 more minutes left of the show

  • Circus isn’t quite what it used to be

This event was entertaining but not nearly what it used to be.

  • Not recommended...Mediocre show

by MomWifeHomeschooler on 10/11/18OkeechobeeRating: 1 out of 5

We went yesterday to this circus here in Okeechobee FL, IT WASN'T LIKE THEIR COMMERCIAL, not even the same people, they were like less than half of the crew I can see in their videos, even looks like what we say yesterday was a backyard mediocre show in front of their advertisements... nothing glamorous, no light shows or the ladies with the feathers, nothing that will bring you to the expected magic of a circus, if once it was that, there was no shadow of that in what we paid $30 dollars for, per person to watch last night, LAST NIGHT WAS MEDIOCRE. Today after talking with other parents that also went to this "show" we agreed in the same, this is homemade low budget tricks show, the only thing that was good was the motorcycles show, there were no clowns and the one doing the part was lazy enough to not use makeup or being funny. ALL IS ABOUT MONEY, the entrances are expensive at the entrance, the ladies attending last night selling the tickets were like bad witches, rude with parents and children and never welcoming..."we already got your money, move...next!".. really RUDE , it seems they have no Circus soul, nobody presents the next performance, no moderator, so you don't follow well what they are doing down there, they are rude enough to use their lauds electric tools to disassemble their equipment in front of the audience, interrupting the attention and the music of the performance. So they just go through the motions, take you money and leave. To buy the tickets online in their web page? I won't recommend it, if you are wise enough about giving to an stranger your credit card number, if you still want to go, use ticketmaster to buy...In the middle they do a break to keep stealing you blind, a lemonade under dubious conditions $8, and if paying $30 per adult is not enough, you have to pay $12 for a 30 seconds ride on a camel around a tiny circle or for jumping on an inflatable house "hurry kid, there are more kids in the line, move...next! "...NEVER AGAIN. A Circus without soul, business selling their China toys coming to your town to sell their stuff and performing a mediocre show. The VIP section, like 3 rows of chairs around the tiny scenario separates the attention and engagement of the audience, the general admission public away from the scenario like for 30 ft bores the kids and never allows engaging, they seems more entertained by the china toys that by the performances. Community felt like an stranger came to scam the town and left during the night.

  • Garden brother circus

by MagicMartins on 10/10/18Canton Civic Center - CantonRating: 5 out of 5

It was a really great event. Plenty of things going on. Really fun for the kids. I’ll definitely be back next year. Just wish there was tigers and you know the old school circus with tents and general circus things.

  • Garden Bros Circus was a great family experience

    by Nana777 on 10/10/18Canton Civic Center - CantonRating: 4 out of 5

My adult children, grandson and I had a wonderful time at the Circus. It was nostalgic for my children and I and a new adventure for my grandson. The acts were exciting and the attractions on the floor before the show and during intermission made the circus atmosphere of yester-year. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the music was too loud and the clown act with the people in the audience was too long. Getting the people to participate more quickly would have made it less time-consuming. I would definitely recommend it to others. PS. At no time did I see animals abused. The circus staff took very good care of them.

  • Awesome performance

Kids loved it. Adults got to laugh. We all really enjoyed ourselves!

  • Horrible

by Butterhead on 10/5/18Eastern Kentucky Expo Center - PikevilleRating: 1 out of 5

I have never been so disappointed in my life, for the amount that the tickets cost you would think that it would have been a better experience. The VIP tickets were on the floor, I should have known something was wrong when there was no seating chart, You were so close to the ring you couldn’t really see anything because of the people in front of you and the ring block the view. The better seats were the General admission, but our loss. The Acts, nothing but tumbling and men/boys climbing up poles and jumping around like monkeys, it was very disappointing. When I think of a circus, I think animals, well the only animals in the show were horses that were ridden around the ring and two poor pitiful elephants that were on the last stages of their lives. I assumed that the standards of the Expo Center were going to be met, I was very wrong, instead we got something that should have been out in a field or something. Was it worth the money, well no not by any stretch of the imagination.

  • It was really fun

by Lindsey37 on 10/5/18Eastern Kentucky Expo Center - PikevilleRating: 5 out of 5

The circus was great, the expo center did ask people to be there at 3:30 to be able to get in the doors, they were 30 minutes late getting the doors open, which left a lot of people with children, waiting outside. Besides this, the circus was great, and we had fun.

  • It wasn’t the worst but not the best

by Kitty101516 on 10/5/18Eastern Kentucky Expo Center - PikevilleRating: 2 out of 5

I had thought they would’ve had more animals than they did. I probably won’t be back unless they bring more animals all they had in the show was horses, a dog and 2 elephants.

  • by TishaD on 10/5/18Eastern Kentucky Expo Center - PikevilleRating: 1 out of 5

We were very disappointed in the circus. The performers were barely clothed and the clowns pretended to strip. Our 3 and 5 year olds wanted to see the elephants, but had to leave because not child friendly.

  • Child loved Garden Bros Circus

by Momand1child on 10/4/18The Arena at Southeastern KY Agricultural and Expo Complex - CorbinRating: 5 out of 5

My daughter loved Garden Bros. Circus! She especially loved the clowns; she couldn't wait for them to come back out to perform again during the show. She also enjoyed the acrobats who performed while being held only with their hair, the jugglers, and the motorcycles riding in the sphere. She can't wait to go again!

  • Wonderful show for all ages. Do not miss this!

by Thraddash on 10/4/18The Arena at Southeastern KY Agricultural and Expo Complex - CorbinRating: 5 out of 5

I cannot say enough about this wonderful circus. We were entertained from start to finish. You should not miss this under any circumstances. With all of the politically correct snowflakes trying to undo history and culture I wanted to see the circus before they are all extinct. I was not disappointed. Every single aspect of the show was entertaining and I am so happy I took my family there. I don't want to give any of it away, so i won't describe the acts. i will warn, however, that everything there such as food or souvenirs is pricey, If you don't know, that is how things are in the shows. Eat before you go and save up if you think you are going to be wanting pony rides or face painting for kids, etc. Thank you so much for the most wonderful show I have seen in 40 years. Your people are amazing. Please do not miss this opportunity to see an amazing show that is worth twice the ticket price. Be a part of history before the snowflakes take it from you. You will not be sorry. Absolutely LOVED the show.

  • Not very good.

by Zappedmomma on 10/4/18The Arena at Southeastern KY Agricultural and Expo Complex - CorbinRating: 1 out of 5

The circus was not what I consider to be a circus. Sound was terrible. After spending $100 on tickets i expected much more. Only animals were the elephants, horses, and a dog......Just wasn’t put together very well.

The thing good about this show is that the kids were allowed to ride the animals.

  • by NatalynH on 9/29/18Mobile Civic Center Arena - MobileRating: 3 out of 5

It cost too much and my child was not entertained and was bored. They did not keep the excitement throughout the entire show

It was a great time at the Garden Brothers Circus, thought there would be more animals for the show but it was the first time we had been to this circus and we did have a great time. The acts were great and we had fun.
