  • great way to start off the season

by 23rusty on 12/11/11Van Andel Arena - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the lady who sang the opening song (can't remember her name) but she only sang ONCE. I so wanted to hear her again. Love Buddy Green but he sang so much more than the others, Why?. It was a wonderful evening and we will go again.

Should have been over about the time of the intermission. Lasted for 4 hours, many of the sets / acts were not necessary and did not add anything. Overall the show was very good, but it was way too long......

by Anonymous on 12/11/11Van Andel Arena - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed this Gaither Homecoming show at the Van Andel Arena. It was 3+ hours of great music and entertainment. The Martins and David Phelps and the Booth Brothers were the stand outs for us!

my wife and her 91 yr old mother have gone to many gaither concerts, starting back when it was just the gaithers and the slaughters. ok I have gone to a bunch also, but not as hugh a lover as those two, until this last concert. Bill always has a nice concert, and david, mark, and the rest of the vocal band members, have always been great, this time david sang 3 solo's and with he being one of the greatest voices, I am so glad he sang he solo's the stole the show,it went from very good to greatness. great plan bill

Bill Gaither never disappoints me. This was truly an event to remember. A friend, who has never attended The Homecoming Concerts, attended as well. She was highly impressed with the entire event. She indicated that she wanted to make it an annual event in her calendar. The Gaithers make it an event to look forward to with great anticipation. Thanks again to the Gaither Homecoming Series, concerts and ticketmaster.

  • Gaither Homecoming was an amazing event!

by Innkeeper913 on 12/11/11Van Andel Arena - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

We LOVED it!! The music was outstanding, as always. The acoustics were tremendous. Lighting and special effects just added more to the event. And where can you get 5 full hours of music for $15 per person. Even the more expense tickets would have been worth the cost! Loved It!! and looking forward to their return visit in a year or so.

In our 41 years of following Bill Gaither Trio, Vocal Band and the Homecoming Freinds we were very disappointed. Not enough groups came, wasn't "in the round" so had to crank necks to see. No screens above us to watch. Was hard to tell who was on stage. Just an overall very disappointing night for our $70. Won't pay that again.

Inspiring, really began the Christmas season on the right note. Every artist's performance was topnotch and we left feeling inspired and knowing what the real spirit of Christmas is about, the birth of our Savior. Happy time, good time, fun time look forward to next Christmas Homecoming! Left with such a good feeling, even the people in the parking ramp were feeling good, waiting patiently, allowing others to merge and smiles all around.

  • Christian Worship at its best!

by JBeaver on 12/9/11Patriot Center - FairfaxRating: 5 out of 5

Southern Gospel music hits your very soul. Opera and bluegrass on the same stage! God uses all types of music to allow His children to express their love to Him and His Son, Jesus. Sing-alongs were fantastic in such a huge facility. Lifting voices to praise our God. Love was felt thru-out the auditorium. Thanks GMU for allowing the Gaithers to return every year. Northern VA needs this witness.

  • David Phelps song was questionable

by prunepit on 12/8/11Patriot Center - FairfaxRating: 4 out of 5

David Phelps has a wonderful operaic voice. However the song he sang was meant for the opera. He sang the song in a foreign language and I could not know what he was singing about. My pastor and girl friend agree with me.

Just a wonderful concert. We got our money's worth.

  • Inspiring and a blessing!

by nursglen on 12/7/11Patriot Center - FairfaxRating: 5 out of 5

The incredible voices of the Gaither vocal band are awesome and give me such a blessing to hear them sing praises to our lord and savior. Being able to sing along when the audience joins in is wonderful to do and hear. I felt like I'd been to church where my heart is full of love and wonder at God's awesome gifts and their use to praise Him. David Phelps has the most incredible voice I've ever heard and when Mark Lowry sings "Mary Did You Know",the tears just roll down my cheeks .

Love the show the best Christmas show I have seen.

  • by SEL24 on 12/6/11Patriot Center - FairfaxRating: 4 out of 5

The show was longer than I thought it would be, in a good way! Well worth the price of the ticket. I'm sorry that Mrs. Gaither wasn't there.

  • O Holy Night was awesome!!

Going to a Gaither Homecoming is one of the best experiences you will ever have. Every moment of the concert was wonderful. The voices and instruments were all incredible. The end of the concert was so moving that I got tears eyed when I told my daughter about it.

Outstanding artists provided an evening of great music, lively humor, and spirited faith. The format was typical Homecoming style. as was expected. I was pleased with our seats and the venue was very nice.
