The Gaither Christmas Homecoming was a wonderful heartwarming show. Just wish our view wasn't obstructed by cameras/lights.

  • Amazing harmony!

by amazingharmony on 12/13/11Van Andel Arena - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

The superb harmony of their voices was at times almost unreal! To listen to a CD is one thing but when you hear them live....it is quite the experience!

  • Moving, Amusing, Enjoyable - Gaither Xmas Show!

by SunniTC on 12/13/11Van Andel Arena - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

I bought tix for my folks as Christmas gift, they never do anything like this. What a truly wonderful show ! The talent was amazing, I can't believe I only paid $31.50 per ticket. I am still trying to decide which cd to buy first. The entertainers were all very in tune w/ the audience and looked to believe in and enjoy what they do. I've seen a LOT of shows ranging from Kiss & Aerosmith @ Van Andel to Yanni, Ray Charles, Allman brothers, Depeche Mode, I love music & this was definitely one of my favorites! Humorous, Mark Lowry is a gem. Liked the twinkle lights, the whole show was really well done. Staff was friendly. Bathrooms clean (although there could always be more!) We had a perfect evening. Look forward to another homecoming! Merry Christmas!

  • The Gaither vocal Band amazing

by pheel on 12/13/11Patriot Center - FairfaxRating: 5 out of 5

A wonderful concert to include in your Christmas Holiday. The, family's , singers and the atmosphere make it a richly rewarding experience. The only drawback was the Patriot Center itself. It is an old facility. It does not have the best acoustics for a concert. I guess it is a good arena for a basketball game. Fortunately the Gaithers overshadow any obstacle.

  • The Gaithers were fantastic!!!!

by Overcoming on 12/12/11Patriot Center - FairfaxRating: 5 out of 5

This was an absolutely fantastic worship experience. I wish I could have stayed but left to avoid traffic as I live in the Richmond VA area. The atmosphere was contagious after a while. It took us a minute to get warmed up but then everyone was really into it. Thank you Lord for the gift of these people and their families. Thank you for the sacrifice and time they put into serving you and all those who are blessed to see them live. Please, please, please come back to the VA/MD/DC area soon!!!!

  • Awesome show

I was truly amazed at the show put on at the Gaither Christmas Homecoming concert. It was a very good value for the money. It lasted almost 4 hours (with a short intermission). All the performers were entertaining.

This was a wonderful Christmas concert. I always enjoy the Gaither Vocal Band and David Phelps' solo was absolutely WONDERFUL!!!!! He is soooo good. The Martins are great for their close harmony as are the Issacs. The baby was so cute. Such a little chub. Enjoyed the Booth Brothers. They are always so good. I was at the first concert in GR when they first sang. Bill introduced them as a new trio. They were cute then and they haven't aged at all. Buddy Green is so talented. Enjoy the comedy with the memb ers. Missed some of the ones such as Easters and Hoppers but all in all it was very worth my time.

  • A Complete Wonderful Surprise!

by MKanis on 12/12/11Van Andel Arena - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

I took my parents to this concert because I knew that they enjoy the Gaithers, but I had no idea how amazing it would be. We laughed, we were moved to tears and filled with awe. The level of the talent and performance excellence is simply as good as it gets. There was a good natured effort to insert humor, some was good but it did get a little too corney (the sound, not Bill's straight man - he was great) Anyway, can't recommend this concert highly enough... if you take your mom and dad, mine were absolutely thrilled.

Great night. Walked right into a bathroom stall upon arrival. No line. (Hey this was very appreciated because it took a while to find parking) No line to get in. Ushered to my seat by 3 different folks with pen lights. Great music. Two nice screens to view it all up close. We got plenty of music and different groups. Enjoyed the Martins and Buddy Green's harmonica, and the Gaither group. It was all great. Good humor with Mark Lourie and the group. Well worth the trip.

This was without a doubt the best gospel music show I have ever attended. Every song was great and every performer was just wonderful.

I am a big fan of the Gaithers. They do a wonderful job and have many excellent artists performing with them. It was a pleasure seeing them in person for the first time. I have no complaints about them or the artists, however I thought the sound was not done as well as it could have been, and the seating was not very comfortable. I would definitely see them again if I could.

  • Great Night

by Nancyjoldersma on 12/11/11Van Andel Arena - Grand RapidsRating: 4 out of 5

Brought my mother-in-law and we both loved it very much! The quality of voices is absolutely amazing! I consider myself to have close to perfect pitch and these singers are dead on! Loved the variety. The only thing I would suggest is that they sing more Christmas songs earlier in the show. Seemed to wait a long time to hear familiar Christmas songs and especially to sing along to. Thanks so much!

  • So grateful to hear "He's Alive!"

by reallyforgiven on 12/11/11Van Andel Arena - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

It was a profoundly moving experience for me. Buddy Green and the Martins really focused praise on the attributes of our wonderful, loving God. Wes Hampton and David Phelps sang two songs that always touch me,, "He is Here," and "He's Alive!" The Isaacs' title song from their latest CD "Why Can't We" was very convicting. The bass soloist was impressive in range, but I really love his interpretation of "We Don't Live Here Anymore," which I saw and heard on one or two of the Gaither television programs. Despite Michael English's throat problems, his performance of "Please Forgive Me" was still powerful. I really enjoyed Gordon Mote's Christmas song, which was new to me. I appreciate so much an unabashed celebration of the grace of God with lyrics with a strong message, music that feels completely developed, and presentation that is skilled and evocative. Your ability to sing so many songs in one concert amazes me because I can only sing five or six before my throat feels sore.

Music was enjoyable and inspiring. Banter between Bill and members of the team was entertaining. Sound system and lighting were great.
