    Good but it's just me..

by SPRA on 6/12/11The Music Box - Hollywood

How far the band goes they probably were a amazing band. But do to my 5'0'' status I was unable to see the band. If I were to sit up there, my vision would be blurred. The sound around me echoed beyond me, I was worrying about the speakers being beyond the area, if I were to hear them good as the person in front, they probably be amazing. Just sad that I was unable to see the third member of the band.. I guess they were good no matter what the people thought it was going to be not perfect because of some sort of problem, I'm pretty sure some people can't notice. This is my first concert not being as huge as the Honda Center, and all I can say to the fact is that the experience was much better, just something different was that the people here were much older and more of a party person. These bands deserve a good rating without the problems of unable to get to view them better, they deserve the ratings in terms of music ignoring the venue review.

Friendly Fires Rocked!! Beware Sob Checkpnt

by Rourketown on 6/12/11The Music Box - Hollywood

Had a great night seeing Friendly Fires at the Music Box. I took my wife who had only heard the 'hits' but that was enough. Energetic sold-out crowd were loving the band from England. Tribal beats meets dance music meets 80's retro-alternative. Very fun with an eclectic crowd of old and young alike. I must say something about Hollywood Blvd and the Sobriety Checkpoint right outside the W hotel. Freakin Yikes!!! We had a few glasses of wine at dinner before the show and were driving East toward the Music Box on Hollywood. We found ourselves trapped unable to get off the street with about 50 police cars and pattywagons lined up on the street. I'm all about safety but what a joke and waste of resources. We got by with no issues but would think twice about going to that part of town on a Friday again. And by the way, the Music Box while a great Venue is run like a typical Corporate Prison inside, you can't move two steps without getting double checked and hassled by one of their staff with a headset, sorry, I'm an oldschooler but too many lawyers and accountants can kill the vibe at a show - I thought this was Hollwood??

    Don't sleep on Friendly Fires

by JRoss on 6/5/11Paradise Rock Club - Boston

Got a chance meet some of them before their set and they are really cool guys. The opening act was terrible, but Friendly Fires killed it. The entire crowd was moving until the last note. One of the funnest shows I have seen hands down. Garaunteed good night out.

Friendly Fires play an amazing show. You are rocking to the beat the whole time Ed is singing! The whole band is jamming out, playing as if you are the only show they will ever play. If you can catch one of their shows, you won't regret it!

Huge energy, tons of percussion packed a big punch

by djgets on 5/29/11Paradise Rock Club - Boston

First time seeing the Friendly Fires live and totally happy with the experience. Outdoors around sunset at a festival would have been a better venue for the huge summery sound they bring, particularly with the wildly atmospheric tracks off the new album, Pala. Sound quality was a little lacking (though it could have been my corner-stage positioning) and vocals were difficult to hear in the mix, but that was the only reason not to give five stars. The boys had an incredible amount of stage presence and energy, and the session guys filled out the tracks nicely. Cheers!

Friendly Fires was beyond my expectations!

by sfspearman on 5/28/11Webster Hall - New York

The venue was surprisingly cozy, the band was AMAZING, and the people were really cool, which was great considering that it was NYC (nothing against New Yorkers, mind you...) I'd read some reviews of Webster Hall on Yelp that were mixed, so I went with some trepidation. My experience was grand- the staff members with whom I interacted were gregarious and informative. I shall return for a show here- unequivocally.

    Great Show!

by ThatFilmGuy on 5/27/11Webster Hall - New York

It was my first Friendly Fires concert. Came across this band through my girlfriend about a year ago. Great music. Awesome style. They're amazing and fun when performing live. Their setlist was pretty good, only wish they played longer than one hour. Go see them if you get the chance!

Third time seeing them and it was the best one yet! The new songs sounded great and as always they put on an up-beat show that makes you want to get your dance on!

Would give it five stars but...

by Brenvem on 5/27/11Webster Hall - New York

The crowd was overwhelming and it was like jammed pack. Not a big fan of webster hall. Woulda preferred to see the show at terminal 5.

The show was great:) I'd never been to the roxy before and I really liked it! Friendly Fires always puts on a fun show. Both of the opening bands were surprisingly great! I really loved the first one but I dont know their name... but I'm searching desperately! Superhumanoids knocked my socks off... I'd never heard of them before but seeing them live made me a believer. Check them out!!:D

    great venue

by Anonymous on 2/9/11Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

Friendly fires have a great beat but I dont think I would like to see an entire set by them again. Maybe 1 or 2 songs in a mix of music

    Totally phoned it in.

by tigerpac on 2/9/11Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

What a half-hearted performance. Saw them last year at Webster Hall and they were AMAZING. They looked sluggish and not into it. Which matters a lot for a high-energy band. A bad night.
