Sound quality was great. Friendly Fires performance was amazing Opening band wasn't energetic enough to really warm up the crowd. Venue was too crowded for dancing. Waiting to get in the venue in the rain was unpleasant. Staff was quick, courteous and stern when necessary.

Friendly fires actually sounded better live than on CD and they sound pretty good on CD!! They added a horn section for the live set. Nice touch. Very energetic and put some subtle twists on their songs.

    The Xx an Friendly Fires

by indieMo on 12/6/09Webster Hall - New York

The show started a little later then i had assumed but it was well worth the wait. The sound system at webster hall was amazing for The Xx. The bass seemed a bit overpowering to the rest of the band, but it was still a good set. And i love that they played the florence an the machine remix by The Xx in between the Xx set and the Friendly Fires. Then The Friendly Fires came out and rocked the roof off the W Hall. I love bands that will do impromptu jam sections rather then just play exactly what is on their albums. Following the footsteps of great bands like The Violent Femmes, !!!, and Hot Chip, they didnt hold back on the jam sections within the occasional song. All and all it was an amazing show and i look forward to seeing both The Xx and The Friendly Fires again sometime down the road.

by Keyah on 12/6/09Webster Hall - New York

It loved it from the first song to the last. the dancing and how edd came into the crowd with his guitar! AMAZING. Loved every moment. I felt as though i was their with only my friends and they were singing to us. They are better live! i can't ever listen to the CD with the same way.

This show was incredible! Not only are they extremely talented musicians, but the light show and the energy were great. Watching Ed Macfarlane dance is like watching a manifestation of pure joy; you can't help but smile. Go see them!!

Friendly Fires were off the wall!

by jjjjbw on 12/6/09Webster Hall - New York

Picture this: you're standing in a concert hall for an hour, waiting for the band to come on stage. You're not sure what to expect, as the opener was alright but nothing special. Then the lights go out, and a synth begins to drone. Then all of a sudden you're thrust into the most energetic and upbeat performance you've ever seen. Everyone's moving, including the band. Your heart's racing, and you realize that this is going to be one show you won't soon forget. Thus was the Friendly Fires show last night, December 5. The band was full of raw, uninhibited energy, and the crowd only enhanced their performance. Pure gold.

    Blew me away

by CJRR on 12/6/09Webster Hall - New York

Friendly Fires completely stole the show, nailed every song, got COMPLETELY into it. The crowd was really great and enthusiastic, the venue was the perfect size, sound and lights were great, and everyone danced like crazy. Incredible. Supporting band The XX were cool too, set the stage perfectly and gave good contrast to the more energetic and upbeat FF. I just hope they all come back soon to play again.

    Friendly Fires was the bomb!

by HongKonger on 12/6/09Webster Hall - New York

Friendly Fires is an amazing band that really gives it their all. With their stage presence it is like you are listening to their album at home but the sound quality is even better.

    Pretty good

by BrandonJackson on 12/6/09Webster Hall - New York

It was really hard to enjoy Friendly Fires to their full potential because the crowd didn't really seem to understand that their music is intensely danceable and that they shouldn't stand still when they listen to it. They were really good performers, I just had a hard time getting into it.

    Friendly Fires and XX

by Samuryan on 11/23/09The Music Box at the Fonda - Hollywood

The XX came out and played an amazing show as a 3 piece. It was a nice and mellow primer to have my face melted off by the energetic, fun and exciting sounds of Friendly Fires. They were spot on, so fun and going crazy. It was one of the best shows I've been to.

    Friendly Fires was amazing but...

by NylonDaisy on 11/22/09The Music Box at the Fonda - Hollywood

The XX was SO boring. They were the worst live band I have ever seen. Every damn song sounded exactly the same; same vocal pitch, beat, etc. Horrible. But other than that, I had a good time. Friendly Fires are so energetic and amazing.
