About

Frankie Valli is best known as the frontman of The Four Seasons and stood out from contemporary singers for his unique falsetto vocals. Rising to fame in the ‘60s, Frankie Valli is still going strong as a solo artist 50 years later.
With The Four Seasons, Valli had 29 hit singles that reached the Top 40 and as a solo artist he added a further nine Top 40 hits. The first hit for the band was “Sherr,” which went to No. 1 in 1962. Frankie's first solo hit, “Can't Take My Eyes Off You,” which was to become his signature song, was released in 1967. Frankie and the band continued to have hits throughout the ‘60s and ‘70s. In 1978 Frankie was back with a big hit, performing the title track to the iconic film Grease, which became a favorite all over the world.
Throughout their career from the ‘60s to the mid-‘70s, The Four Seasons released around 20 albums, but many more compilation and collection albums were to be released over the years. A further 10 albums were released by Valli as a solo artist, the most recent of which was Romancing the 60s, released in 2007. Valli has continued to perform and tour throughout the decades, and continues to collaborate with other artists. As recently as 2010 Valli recorded a duet with Juice Newton, “The Biggest Part of Me,” which was released as a track on Newton's Duets: Friends & Memories album. Despite a very distinguished and long-standing career, Frankie Valli wasn't to make his debut on Broadway until 2012 when he performed in a week-long concert.
For a career that has spanned half a century, it’s difficult to list all the awards and acclaim Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons have won. It‘s testament to their success that in 1990 they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and that they entered the Vocal Group Hall of Fame a further nine years later. The popularity of some of their recordings has stood the test of time among fans and artists who have followed them down the years. Some 200 artists have made their own cover versions of “Can't Take My Eyes Off You” alone. As if being immortalized in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame wasn't enough, the life and careers of Frankie and The Four Seasons became the subject of the globally successful musical Jersey Boys in 2005. The show went on to win six Tony Awards and continues to tour today, stopping at the likes of the Old National Centre and other nationally acclaimed venues.

    Frankie was terrific

by CoachGramps on 9/7/09Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

This was the third time I saw Frankie Valli live- (the first two were back in the 60's on college campuses) and he has not missed a beat! His voice was as good as ever, the backup ensemble were as good as the original Four Seasons (maybe better dancers), and the musicians were terrific. A sellout crowd, singing along with the performers brought me back to my college years. The sound system might have been adjusted too loud for the musicians, as some patrons had a little difficulty hearing the lyrics of some tunes, and some of the seats in the upper sections along the sides had frame glass obstructions, so the view was not the best, but there was a nearly full-capacity crowd & they were into the performance.

    Frankie Valli

Frank sounded great, although I don't think he can hit the high notes like he use to. Very enjoyable.

    way to loud

by sully100 on 9/7/09Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

when frankie sang his own tunes with the small band , everything was wonderful and sounded right , but when they did covers and had entire large band playing , the mix was way too loud , the music too busy and for the type of music and crowd they were performing for , it was too much - also no opening act and entire act was 90min

Frankie still has his great voice and good looks!

by MaggyMay on 9/7/09Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

Frankie sounded exactly the same at Boston's Blimstrums 40 years ago as he did at Foxwood's Casino on September 6, 2009. It was unforgetable!

Frankie Valli was an Excellent Show!

by MissyMobile on 9/7/09Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

Loved it! What a fabulous show! My husband and I thought that Frankie was in his mid 60's to find out that he's 75! His voice and stamina have not changed at all. He and his "boys" as he called them, put on a really fun, enjoyable show. If you've seen Jersey Boys, this is the concert, only with Frankie Valli playing himself in the lead. Frankie did not disappoint. Sometimes the headliners throw in fillers of songs they like to sing, but few people recognize. He didn't do that. Even when he sang some songs from his new CD, they were all songs we've heard before (from the 60s) and could sing along to. What a great time. So glad we made the trip!

    Frankie Valli still brings it--excellent!!!!!!!!!

by braves1 on 9/7/09Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

Frankie sounded fantastic. The only criticism is that I would have forgotten about singing other singers 60's sounds and just stuck with singing more of Frankie's hits. There were so many more hits he could have sang in that period.

by JudiAnn05 on 9/7/09Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

This show was totally amazing! It rocked! Frankie sounded as good as he did years ago back in the 60's and 70's. His back up singers, or his "boys" as he likes to call them were just fantastic! His band rocked and selection of songs was great! We had a wonderrful time and would recommend this show to everyone! Please bring Frankie back again soon!

    Frankie is living Rock History!

by mulcher1 on 9/7/09Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

It was a really good concert! The place was packed and everyone was into it. Frankie is a seventy something but his voice is a thirty something. I could detect nothing aged about his voice. It was great. I wasn't too crazy with his spiel about politics but the music much outweighed a few minutes of his political stuff. He was really great. I wish he would have done more of his hits but I'm thankfull that what he did perform was technically excellent. He was great. He didn't miss any of his biggest hits. He and his toupe showed a sense of humor and kept everyone amused. I wish I could thank him personaly.

    fabulous

by yeolphilosopher on 9/7/09Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

Frankie Valli hasn't lost any of his charisma. The songs were nostalgic and the new cd has all the charm of the 4 seasons' standbys. His young backups were energetic and Frankie has the self-assurance to allow them front stage exposure as a true great performer always does.

    franki valli still rocking

by downthehall on 9/7/09Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

Frankie Valli did not disappoint in his Mohegan Sun concert on 9/6/09. For an hour and a half, Frankie entertained the crowd with a mix of old and older tunes. He began the show with Dawn, and finished with an encore of Rag Doll and Lets Hang on. His voice was powerful and his new background Seasons were exceptional. The crowd sang along with Cant Take My Eyes off You and Big Girls Don't Cry. New arrangements made it possible for him to still hit those high notes. Towards the end of the show, they did a few songs from their latest CD Romancing the Sixties. Nice songs, but I would have preferred original Seasons material such as Opus 17, The Sun Aint Gonna Shine, Marrianne, etc. Otherwise, a flawless show that brought us back 45 years.

    Frankie Valli

by hotstuff5 on 9/7/09Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

What a fabulous performance. The four back up singers compliment him. We went to his show last year at Mohegan and then saw The Jersey Boys twice. One of our favorite entertainers.

    Frankie Vallie was fabulous!

by Donly on 9/7/09Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

His voice is as strong as ever, and the sound quality in the arena was great. He sang continuously for over 90 minutes, his top hits naturally, but then some songs recorded by other artists. The band was phenomenal, as were the 4 Seasons, who are young, good looking, and have equally strong voices. He has great stage presence.

    Frankie sounded smooth!!

by JoJoct35 on 9/7/09Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

Didn't know what to expect since we had heard from other family members that they saw him in concert a couple of years ago and he didn't sound good. Well were they wrong!!! It was so much fun! Frankie sounded fantastic! His back-up singers and band were great too! I only knew a few songs that he sang since he was past my generation but then he would sing others and I knew them! His songs have standed the test of time!! Highly recommend it to anyone from young to old!

    Frankie Valli = Amazing!!!

by TLetta on 9/7/09Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

Frankie Valli has still got it.. he hit every one of his notes, and sang with that incredible voice that no one else can do.. well except the Jersey Boys on Broadway.. but overall phenomenal show!! I definitely recommend this. There were 6 year olds to 80 year olds there.

    Valli still has it!

by ozzie1098 on 9/7/09Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons were outstanding when they played Saturday night at Mohegan Sun. Frankie still has the voice, even after almost 50 years. The back up singers had beautiful voices too. The band was outstanding. They performed all the favorites, with some new songs as well. Well worth the money!!
