  • Caliendo, very funny....

by livetiludie on 8/28/09Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton BeachRating: 4 out of 5

Frank Caliendo has a fast paced act that works. It keeps your brain on its' toes. Your mind may feel bruised, as if it was the ball in a tennis match. The warm up is sometimes good. This is my third time seeing Frank in three years. Sorry to say the act has not kept current or moved from the old standbys; what always served him in the past. If it is new material you want to see, it may be in Vegas or on TV, but not on the road! As I recall, on the road was where the new material was tried out.....it seems not so with Frank. Darn.

  • She laughed so hard she snorted

by LuvBug448 on 8/28/09Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Frank and his lead-in act were hysterical. Frank's routine was such a whirlwind of jokes; I can't even remember my favorite. Both he and his warm-up guy were interactive and quick on their feet - showing that they both possessed true talent not just the ability to do scripted repetition. The lady next to me laughed so hard she snorted.

  • You have to see Frank!

by Honestwags on 8/28/09Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton BeachRating: 4 out of 5

Frank appeared with all our favorite characters and a few we had never seen. The crowd roared non-stop for the entire show. He was on! We had a great time and would see it all again.

  • Frank Caliendo is amazing!

by Lucypoo on 8/28/09Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton BeachRating: 5 out of 5

He is unbelievable how he can change from one impression to another with facial expressions and all in just a second. My only criticism would be for people from all walks of life and of all ages, he needs to update a few of his impressions. For instance, if you don't know anything about basketball, you may not even know who Charles Barklay is/was.....(speaking from some women's points of view). I personally knew all his imitations except for one. Yeah, keep it current it all I would say.

  • Non-stop belly laughs

by DDMdoro on 8/28/09Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Caliendo is brilliant. Flawlessly impersonates Dubya, Bill, others. Rapidly transitions from character to character without missing a beat as you try to catch your breath between belly laughs.

  • Frank is the BEST !

  • Frank Caliendo was Amazing

by Leitrim on 8/27/09Newport Yachting Center - NewportRating: 5 out of 5

Over the years, my husband and I have attended several comedy shows as well as concerts at the Newport Yachting Center. Part of the enjoyment of any show is the atmosphere. At the Yachting Center, we love being on the waterfront, being so close to "the talent." As for the show, Frank Caliendo was even better than we expected, (and we had very high expectations). The best part was not just the impersonations (Al Pacino, my favorite), but how Frank created a kind of framework so that the impersonations were part of the act, not just the act. Finally, it's always fun to attend a show in which the entertainer is having a great time, and there was no question that Frank seemed to enjoy himself almost as much as we did. Bring him back next year!!

  • Caliendo Does It Again

by mdc3ff33 on 8/27/09Turning Stone Resort & Casino Showroom - VeronaRating: 5 out of 5

I loved this. I wasn't sure what to expect at first. I had seen Frank Caliendo on Fox Sports and thought his John Madden impression were amazing...but there was so much more. This guy is hilarious, one of the best comedy shows I have seen.

  • Clever and fun

by Tabere on 8/27/09Newport Yachting Center - NewportRating: 4 out of 5

Frank Caliendo is clearly gifted but his appearances on TV lose their luster after 10 minutes or so as you become more accustomed to his act. Happily, that wasn't the case in person. He built upon each impression and intermingled his characters in unexpected ways that held your interest. His personable stage presence and absence of props or character makeup underscored his considerable talent. He kind of lost me with the sports personalities, which I personally felt went on a little too long, but there were clearly audience members who revered that segment and were thrilled that they got what they came for.

It was funny, his George Bush is right on but getting a little old. Would have liked to have heard more voices, he did the same ones over and over adding short skits with a few more. It was alright but if he came again I probably would not attend. No WOW factor.

  • Frank Caliendo.......not JUST John Madden!!

by Hardwood22 on 8/24/09Turning Stone Resort & Casino Showroom - VeronaRating: 5 out of 5

Frank Caliendo, the man of a thousand voices, was at Turning Stone Resort last night. If you have not seen this gifted comedian and impressionist, by all means, find a way!! Frank had the crowd in stitches from the very beginning. Still working on his President Obama impression, (which wasn't bad at all!) he proceeded to blend in Bill Clinton and George Bush with ease. Saying he missed Bush from a comedy perspective, Frank utilized the former President along with a heavy dose of Charles Barkley, ("That's trrble, trrble, you knucklehead!") and of course, John Madden, to keep the crowd roaring all night. After the show, Mr. Caliendo took the time to sign autographs and pose for pictures at no charge to the thankful audience. I shook hands and posed for a picture with him and thanked him for the evening. Those of you heading to Vegas soon, check Frank out at the Monte Carlo, as he will be the headline performer there in the near future. Do yourself a favor, get to know this man of a thousand voices!!

Focus and switch Frank is the master of switching impressions and focus. As far as I can tell, his shtick is to pretend he loses focus and then brings it back on home. When he goes fast - it is so fast its hard to keep up with. You cant tell me that someone can do that and then forget his next bit - hes got to be switching the focus to get him into the next bit. I loved the show. 5 stars More I wanted more. It was funny and all ran together well but I wanted more... Franks part of show was about 1 hour. I would say I wanted more Frank - but what I really wanted was more of Frank being someone else. 4stars Jukebox I saw Frank and he once joked that he was not a jukebox - but I think he is. Frank has a tendency to do his most famous bits at a big show - but that is what I love to see LIVE. For me it can be like going to a rock concert and waiting to hear my favorite song. I hope "Curb your Enthusiasm" brings back Seinfeld so Frank will. I like his new stuff... I love his old stuff. Oh, and I am going to yell out what impression I want to hear - somebody gots ta pick what to play on the jukebox.

  • same old routine

I took my husband, who enjoyed it more than I did. As I watched the act, it was almost word for word what had been on his dvd two years ago. He only had a few new jokes. In the middle of the performance, he laid down on stage and said he forgot the rest of the act. I was very disappointed. This performance had been cancelled in February, and I wish I could've just gotten a refund.
