About

Florence + The Machine, fronted by Florence Welch, is an English rock band formed in London in 2007. In 2009, the band released their debut album, Lungs, which launched at No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart and held strong for five weeks before claiming the No. 1 slot. The debut ultimately spent 28 consecutive weeks on the chart, establishing the band as a formidable new force and drawing praise for its dramatic, cinematic production and Welch’s distinct vocals. Florence + The Machine were nominated for Best New Artist at the 2011 Grammy Awards and have since earned seven total nominations across six studio albums. The band headlined Glastonbury in 2015 — the first female-fronted band to do so since 1999 — and have made appearances at a number of global festivals over the years, including Primavera Sound, Madrid’s Mad Cool, Electric Picnic, and Isle of Wight. 2026’s Everybody Scream Tour will mark FATM’s sixth headlining tour.

  • Magic in the Rain and in the Cloud

by Gordy on 10/18/22Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Her performance was earthly and heavenly perfection. Her purple dress with daffodils was visually stunning. The power outage on Saturday was shocking and unexpected. The concert resumed thankfully. Towards the end Florence was singing in the rain and that was magic beyond human understanding.

  • Florence was great but…

by Breeeeeeeeeezy on 10/18/22Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 3 out of 5

Florence was fantastic, as always! But my first trip to the bowl since before 2020 left a lot to be desired. There was a power outage which delayed Florence by 30+ minutes, and with the bowl’s 11pm curfew, it means we were shorted that time of the show. When the power did resume the screens at the bowl were wonky, which was such a bummer! Florence slayed though.

  • Florence was great, the band is not what they used to be.

by Lindsay on 10/18/22Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

I’ve seen F+TM now 7 times. Twice on this tour (Austin and LA) and at various venues and festivals before. I know that this album (as well as the last two) has more of a produced sound compared to her first two albums, yet the musicality of the show just wasn’t there for me. Her voice is as powerful as ever and I always enjoy her meek, polite connection with the crowd. I just don’t think the band brings it like they used to. Kind of a bummer. It also feels like we are no longer going to concerts to enjoy music. Everyone around us at both shows talked the entire time. First show was in the pit, second was seated. Can we go back to being present and singing along at shows? Save the conversations for dinner?

  • Completely satisfied!

    by Steve H on 10/18/22Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time seeing Florence + the Machine. I was completely overwhelmed by the performance. Florence Welch is a fantastic singer, dancer, and performer. The Machine are all musically proficient, great group of musicians. The song selection was incredible and they kept the crowd entertained through the entire show. I will definitely see them again on their next tour!

  • Not a fun show

by DS on 10/18/22Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 2 out of 5

Florence has a beautiful voice but at one point shushed the crowd - remember the Lorde meme? - and in general promoted an unpleasant atmosphere. Another point she instructed the audience to put their phones down so we could enjoy a collective experience and encouraged the audience members to yell at each other to put their phones away. It was ultimately one of the worst vibes I have experienced at a live show. Disappointing from an otherwise talented performer!

  • Florence was terrific...venue not so much

by bh on 10/18/22Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain ViewRating: 3 out of 5

Shoreline continues to degrade in quality. Access & Parking are terrible, Very expensive, food is pricey and has become mediocre, vendors seem dis-interested and all expect a tip for handing you food. The biggest issue is the sound system. Not sure who is responsible for mixing but the quality has degraded, distorted, over-amped, simply 'muddy'. I will certainly see Florence again but never at Shoreline.....in fact, I won't see anyone at Shoreline again.

  • Amazing concert!

by RWV on 10/18/22Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

This is my second time seeing F+TM… just as energetic, playful, and amazing a concert experience as the first time around. The start was delayed a bit by technical difficulties on the part of the venue, but the energy of the show made up for it by the end of the first song. Highly recommend!

  • Jumbotron Screen Issues

    by T on 10/18/22Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 3 out of 5

Concert was delayed by approximately 40 minutes due to an electrical outage. Once it started, the Jumbotron screens were out then were patchy once they came on again. After an hour the problem was fixed.

  • Ethereal Rock Goddess

by cath on 10/18/22Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Despite a power outage causing a 20 minute delay to F+TM’s set and rain preventing Florence from going out to the crowd when she first wanted to, I had a fantastic time!! Florence is such an entertainer. From her dancing and frolicking on stage, to running around the Hollywood Bowl and coming closer to us individuals who cannot necessarily afford closer tickets, to her impeccable vocals, Florence is a force not to be reckoned with. It was a magical, soulful time and I can’t wait to see her again!!

  • Loved seeing Florence up close!

by cc loves F+M on 10/18/22Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve heard great things about Florence’s shows. This was my first and was beyond my expectations. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole show. Also, the Hollywood bowl is a well run venue so every aspect was smooth!

  • 2 and a half hours late.

    by B. K. on 10/18/22Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 2 out of 5

The show started 2 and a half hours late after 7 pm There were technical issues, the big screen of the show was not working properly and was fixed only at the end, we set far from the stage and we couldn't see the show at all... The whole experience was exhausting. The only good thing was Florenc, she was amazing and added energy and fun

  • Magical and transcendent

    by JodyMach1 on 10/18/22Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

I have been to many great concerts, both my wife and I have- but this was our first time seeing Florence (our favorite artist) and our first time at the Hollywood Bowl. We both agree that we have never seen a better performance. Florence is hands down an amazing entertainer and seeing her live is the only true way to see her shine. She is ephemeral, she is timeless, she IS magic. This was the kind of concert that changes you forever. It almost didn’t happen- the bowl lost power before she came on (her last show of the tour) but they worked it out and the show went on. Thank god it did because it was the show of a lifetime. As far as the venue itself- I think The Bowl has ruined any other venue for us. It’s the only way to experience a concert. We had box seats in the garden and we were comfortable, incredibly close to the stage and the service by wait staff was phenomenal. We had a couple sitting near us that forewent seeing Florence at Madison Square Garden (they live in NY) to fly across the country just to see her perform at The Bowl. I believe you can’t ask for a better testament than that for a venue. As for Florence + The Machine- I’ll never forget that experience as long as I live- thank you!

  • She is magical

by KayP on 10/18/22Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

My soul ascended from my body. Florence is ethereal and her spirit takes over the entire venue and everyone can feel her energy. I had an amazing night, technical difficulties and weather aside. Her openers Wet Leg and Hope Tala also have a new fan in me. They were lovely.

  • One of the best shows I’ve ever seen

by LRA on 10/18/22Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Florence is a force and one of the best performers of all time. A true rockstar that we will age with and speak of for years to come.

  • Must see!!!

    by Casey M on 10/18/22Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

This is my second time seeing Florence + The Machine and it was absolutely amazing!!!! She gets involved with the audience and her voice and movement are mesmerizing!

  • 10/10

by Rubes on 10/17/22Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

My 5th time ever seeing Florence + the Machine and my 3rd time seeing her at the Bowl. Always such a great experience and easy shuttle services with friendly drivers. Big fan of it all.

  • Florence Is King!

    by K. A. on 10/17/22Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Hollywood Bowl is always a winning venue and it was only made better by Florence. High energy show from a seasoned veteran. Good mix of new and old songs. Love her. ❤️

  • She is a Godess

by Lora on 10/17/22Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

The perfect Friday night is seeing Florence & The Machine at the Hollywood Bowl. This is my second time seeing her at the Hollywood Bowl, and both times it felt like a magical experience. Florence sounds fantastic live, and her voice is so unique. There is no artist like her, and I hope she always has the Hollywood Bowl as a stop on her tours, as this is a magical venue for a magical artist. I can't wait until she returns to Los Angeles.

  • Awesome Show

by LeslieD on 10/17/22Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Florence was amazing. She ran around everywhere and even sang from the middle of the crowd -- way above your seats. As usual, the Hollywood Bowl does not disappoint!

  • Very talented artist, amazing vibes...

by Vicks on 10/17/22Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre at SDSU - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing atmosphere... she is very talented, great musicians, lyrics that get to your heart .
