About

FLEETWOOD MAC IN CONCERT:

The Rumours are true: Fleetwood Mac will be joined by Christine McVie for their 2014 world tour, and the band is just as excited about it as their fans. McVie left the band for personal reasons back in 1998, making the Mac's subsequent touring somewhat of a bittersweet experience for concertgoers. Bittersweet no more, however — fans lucky enough to score a ticket to Fleetwood Mac's 2014 On With the Show tour will get to experience McVie classics like "Everywhere" and "Little Lies" alongside Fleetwood Mac staples like "Dreams" and "Rhiannon," marking the first time in nearly 20 years the band's classic lineup has toured together.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Legendary British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac was formed in 1967 by Peter Green and Mick Fleetwood. After moderate success as a no-frills blues band in the late '60s, the group underwent a turbulent period marked by lineup changes and lawsuits in the early '70s. With the additions of Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, and Stevie Nicks by 1975, the band entered their most successful period, riding to both critical and commercial acclaim with a string of No. 1 albums including Rumours (1977) and Mirage (1982). The group's chemistry both in and out of the studio resulted in some of the era's most enduring hits, and the continued popularity of songs like "Dreams," "Gypsy," and "Sara," have made them one of the top-selling acts of all time. Following Christine McVie's departure in 1998, the band continued to tour with a scaled-down lineup, thrilling fans in 2014 with the announcement of McVie's return for their On With the Show tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"This was the best concert that I have seen in years. They can still rock the house. Stevie Nicks still has a fantastic voice. Lindsey's guitar playing was out of this world."

"Stevie hasn't sounded this flawless in almost 20 years. Just absolutely awesome. GREAT energy by everybody in the band. The chemistry was excellent and I think the band had as good of a time as the audience."

"Extremely enjoyable----the band is absolutely PROFESSIONAL---onstage for 2 1/2+ hours and appearing to enjoy every minute. Their sound is magnificent----unbelievable for 40 years in the business!!"

  • Fleetwood Mac was an unbelievable moment in time!

More fabulous than I’d anticipated! The entire audience was dancing and having a great time! The play list was perfect, leaving all of us feeling happy and inspired!

  • go to concert but skip pre party

by Anonymous on 10/9/18United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Concert was the best - Fleetwood Mac rocked the crowd for over 2+ hours. Paid for pre party as part of my BD gift. What a bumper that was - appetizers were frozen and reheated and served cold. Thought they might show old Fleetwood Mac concerts on screen, but no just a one guy singer trying his best; Save. you money and just go to concerts

  • Not a great show!

    by 56Volunteer on 10/9/18United Center - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

They performed the songs I would have expected to hear. However it seemed a little unrehearsed. Just not as tight as I would have expected. It was good just not great! I traveled 525 miles to see Fleetwood Mac I wish I would have waited till later in the tour to see them!

  • Fleetwood Mac—ALWAYS GREAT SHOW!!!

by Merrylaugher on 10/9/18United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

As usual, a great Fleetwood Mac concert. I have been a fan for 40+ years! I was disappointed that Lindsay Buckingham was absent, but the two musicians the group added, were terrific. Some surprising songs added throughout the show.

  • Don't miss this show!!

    by Aunteena13 on 10/9/18United Center - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

It was by far the very best Fleetwood Mac show that I have seen. It really celebrates the decades of FM, from the beginning to present. If you think it will be missing something without Lindsey, it doesn't. In fact, I think it made them better, everyone was at their top performance levels and didn't waiver for 3 straight hours. It seemed as if they were having fun and truly enjoying themselves.

  • AMAZING.

    by sarahanne98 on 10/9/18United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Best concert I’ve ever been to, next to Queen. They were phenomenal and full of energy. I met Mick and he is one of the most amazing and considerate people I’ve met. And he laughed at my pun.

  • Great show

    by Newk18 on 10/9/18United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Fleetwood Mac was huge when I was in college but not had a chance to see them. Many years later and finally get to see them perform. They were amazing. High energy and great sound. Very enjoyable.

  • Great Fleetwood Mac show - a bit different

    by LongTimeFan37 on 10/9/18United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Without Lindsay Buckingham, I was surprised how many of his songs they still did. When Christine McVie wasn’t there, I don’t think they did a single one of her songs. Lindsay’s replacements were fine and added a nice new element - shook things up a bit. This time they did a Tom Petty cover, and Stevie sang a very old Fleetwood Mac song that Santana made famous - Black Magic Woman. Great time. Stevie’s voice is slipping a bit, but I still get chills on some of her songs - worth the price just for her.

  • Fleetwood Mac at United Center, Chicago

    by MandM2018 on 10/9/18United Center - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

FIrst time to see Fleetwood Mac and enjoyed the concert & the songs performed. Wanted to hear Gypsy but wasn't sang. Christy McVie sang quite a few of her songs and the two new members of the band sang their songs. Personally I would have liked to hear all Fleetwood Mac songs since that is who we paid to see perform.

  • Fleetwood Mac 2018 exceeds expections!

by JustRightGent on 10/9/18United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

You could feel the energy from the first song on. Mick Fleetwood was amazing and entertaining. John Mcvey's powerful bass line drove the songs with power. I had been wondering how much they would use Neil Finn and was amazed at how much a part of the band he had become. His driving vocals when he had the lead gave Fleetwood Mac a more edgy sound and their voices blended well on the harmonies. Stevie Nicks and Christie Mcvey still have amazing voices. Mike Campbell was incredible on guitar throughout. Then with Neil Finn adding his guitar to the mix they sounded great. It was a big surprise when they went back into the Fleetwood Mac library of songs to the early days before Stevie and Lindsay. I never thought I would hear Hypnotized live and it was great. An even bigger surprise was when the dipped into Neal Finn's past and played a Split Enz song. I won't tell you which one, go and be surprised. They also dipped into his Crowded House background for Don't Dream it's Over. They also did a tribute to Tom Petty with an amazing version of Free Falling. They played so many of the great songs from the Fleetwood Mac and Rumors Albums. Stevie did an amazing version of Landslide with Neal Finn playing acoustic guitar. Mick Fleetwood played an amazing drum session that blew everyone away. The visual work on the big screen was incredible. Who ever was doing the work with live shots of the performers imposed over video or each other was beyond expectations. I am so glad that I got to go and see Fleetwood Mac and to also see Neal Finn do some of his songs made it even better. They put on a great show and sounded great. They looked like they were having the time of their lives!

  • Fantastic Concert

  • Exciting night with Fleetwood

by Jukski on 10/9/18United Center - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

Mick Fleetwood plays those drums like he's 20 years old, alot of energy and great skill. Stevie Nicks still sounds great also and Mike Campbell was an excellent choice for guitar, he was amazing. Christie still has the voice I remember but it flattened out on the higher and louder notes. There was a huge crowd of young people who thought they invented the band.

  • BEST Mac Concert Ever

by SEarl on 10/9/18United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Fleetwood Mac ten times in three different states and over five decades - the addition of Mike Campbell and Neil Finn bring a new energy to the band and it was great hearing some songs from pre Buckingham /Nicks that I’ve never heard from them before - Stevie’s voice has never sounded better - a great show

  • The Mac is back!

    by Macfan76 on 10/9/18United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Great show. The exciting new musicianship and fellowship was very evident! Hope they circle back around to Chicago as I would love to see them again.

  • Great show

by Anonymous on 10/9/18United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Wasn’t sure what to expect without Lindsey Buckingham and he was certainly missed but the new lineup rocked it! Played for over two hours without a break, hit most of the hits and played some cool oldies from the original FM lineup. And even a couple nods to the Crowded House and Petty roots of Finn and Campbell. Really good show.

  • Phenomenal

    by Maegan98 on 10/9/18United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I have waited 20 years to see Fleetwood Mac. I finally got to see them! It was everything that I dreamed it would be. All of them are legends. Even though, Lindsey wasn’t there Neil and Mike did a really good job filling in his shoes.

  • AWESOME

    by Norm62 on 10/9/18United Center - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Fleetwood Mac rocked the house. Mick Fleetwood's drum solo was just crazy. Loved every minute of it. If I could go back in time I would of spent the extra money for a meet and greet with Mickelson Fleetwood.
