FLEETWOOD MAC IN CONCERT:
The Rumours are true: Fleetwood Mac will be joined by Christine McVie for their 2014 world tour, and the band is just as excited about it as their fans. McVie left the band for personal reasons back in 1998, making the Mac's subsequent touring somewhat of a bittersweet experience for concertgoers. Bittersweet no more, however — fans lucky enough to score a ticket to Fleetwood Mac's 2014 On With the Show tour will get to experience McVie classics like "Everywhere" and "Little Lies" alongside Fleetwood Mac staples like "Dreams" and "Rhiannon," marking the first time in nearly 20 years the band's classic lineup has toured together.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Legendary British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac was formed in 1967 by Peter Green and Mick Fleetwood. After moderate success as a no-frills blues band in the late '60s, the group underwent a turbulent period marked by lineup changes and lawsuits in the early '70s. With the additions of Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, and Stevie Nicks by 1975, the band entered their most successful period, riding to both critical and commercial acclaim with a string of No. 1 albums including Rumours (1977) and Mirage (1982). The group's chemistry both in and out of the studio resulted in some of the era's most enduring hits, and the continued popularity of songs like "Dreams," "Gypsy," and "Sara," have made them one of the top-selling acts of all time. Following Christine McVie's departure in 1998, the band continued to tour with a scaled-down lineup, thrilling fans in 2014 with the announcement of McVie's return for their On With the Show tour.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"This was the best concert that I have seen in years. They can still rock the house. Stevie Nicks still has a fantastic voice. Lindsey's guitar playing was out of this world."
"Stevie hasn't sounded this flawless in almost 20 years. Just absolutely awesome. GREAT energy by everybody in the band. The chemistry was excellent and I think the band had as good of a time as the audience."
"Extremely enjoyable----the band is absolutely PROFESSIONAL---onstage for 2 1/2+ hours and appearing to enjoy every minute. Their sound is magnificent----unbelievable for 40 years in the business!!"
Very enjoyable evening, Mick Fleetwood has the smile of a young boy on his face as he plays those drums. That is loving your job, we all should be so lucky!
Great show Mick can play drums incredible non stop Stevie and Christie are spot on for their age !!
Really awesome! A big production, but makes it feel intimate.
Energetic, great chemistry, fun and the band played songs that I had never heard before. The tribute to Tom Petty was sublime.
Fleetwood Mac put on an amazing show. Didnt miss not having an opening act at all!
Cristie Mcvie could of sounded better was my only reason not to give it 5 stars.
I wish we were all in our 30’s. I would love to see where they would take their music in another 50 years. Very very good concert. Stevie you are incredible. TicketMaster. YOU NEED TO GET YOU ACT TOGETHER AND LOOK AT YOUR SALES POLICIES. OH WAIT, YOU MIGHT NOT MAKE SO MUCH UNFARE MONEY.
Such an amazing and fun concert! Great music from a great band!
Christine McVies voice broke a little at times, but for 75, she killed it. It was Ana amzing show. The encore tribute to Tom Petty was awesome. Great show. Wish I could see them amzigain.
The concert was great and the staff was very respectful and helpful. There was a couple of songs the band played and there was a high pitch sound, like feedback. I don't know if it came from their mics or in the sound system. Me and my friend celebrated our birthdays by going to the concert and had a great time. Will go again. Need more leg room between rows of seats.
Very good seats in section 333 with good side view of stage. Sound was perfect and lighting was also very good.
I attended this conference with a friend and we had a terrific time listening to the classic Fleetwood Mac songs as well as some older songs that I had not heard. The band was top notch with two new guitar / vocalists. All in all, a fantastic experience.
Excellent show! The United Center is not known for good acoustics, but the sound was really good. Lindsay Buckingham was not really missed- Finn's vocals and guitar work were really good, and Mike Campbell smoked it on guitar. I liked the set of songs a lot except for the final song-thought it should've been a memorable hell yeah tune instead of something obscure. This is the farewell tour, prices kinda high but worth it.
Fleetwood Mac was very good. However, it was very different without Lindsey Buckingham!! If he was there, it would have been great, as usual.
This was a good show but lacked the strong input of Lindsey Buckingham's amazing guitar playing and energy on stage. Bring Back Lindsey !!!!
This "Fleetwood Mac" show was great if you were looking for an All Star band type of show. If you wanted an authentic Fleetwood Mac experience---not so much. The band is celebrating 50 years of music by FIRING Buckingham and replacing him with 2 new members. They played some pre1975 music but had no video of previous members to accompany the music. This was a major lost opportunity. However they did have a video tribute to Tom Petty who was never part of the band. The addition of 2 Crowded House songs was totally inappropriate in the context of a 50 year retrospective. The intensity and frenetic energy of Buckingham was missing. The tension and creative push and pull among band members was missing. No drama, no intrigue......in other words this was Fleetwood Mac Lite. Less filling and definitely less satisfying.
I have been to many terrific Fleetwood Mac concerts. This one was the best of all.
More fabulous than I’d anticipated! The entire audience was dancing and having a great time! The play list was perfect, leaving all of us feeling happy and inspired!
Concert was the best - Fleetwood Mac rocked the crowd for over 2+ hours. Paid for pre party as part of my BD gift. What a bumper that was - appetizers were frozen and reheated and served cold. Thought they might show old Fleetwood Mac concerts on screen, but no just a one guy singer trying his best; Save. you money and just go to concerts
They performed the songs I would have expected to hear. However it seemed a little unrehearsed. Just not as tight as I would have expected. It was good just not great! I traveled 525 miles to see Fleetwood Mac I wish I would have waited till later in the tour to see them!
