FLEETWOOD MAC IN CONCERT:
The Rumours are true: Fleetwood Mac will be joined by Christine McVie for their 2014 world tour, and the band is just as excited about it as their fans. McVie left the band for personal reasons back in 1998, making the Mac's subsequent touring somewhat of a bittersweet experience for concertgoers. Bittersweet no more, however — fans lucky enough to score a ticket to Fleetwood Mac's 2014 On With the Show tour will get to experience McVie classics like "Everywhere" and "Little Lies" alongside Fleetwood Mac staples like "Dreams" and "Rhiannon," marking the first time in nearly 20 years the band's classic lineup has toured together.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Legendary British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac was formed in 1967 by Peter Green and Mick Fleetwood. After moderate success as a no-frills blues band in the late '60s, the group underwent a turbulent period marked by lineup changes and lawsuits in the early '70s. With the additions of Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, and Stevie Nicks by 1975, the band entered their most successful period, riding to both critical and commercial acclaim with a string of No. 1 albums including Rumours (1977) and Mirage (1982). The group's chemistry both in and out of the studio resulted in some of the era's most enduring hits, and the continued popularity of songs like "Dreams," "Gypsy," and "Sara," have made them one of the top-selling acts of all time. Following Christine McVie's departure in 1998, the band continued to tour with a scaled-down lineup, thrilling fans in 2014 with the announcement of McVie's return for their On With the Show tour.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"This was the best concert that I have seen in years. They can still rock the house. Stevie Nicks still has a fantastic voice. Lindsey's guitar playing was out of this world."
"Stevie hasn't sounded this flawless in almost 20 years. Just absolutely awesome. GREAT energy by everybody in the band. The chemistry was excellent and I think the band had as good of a time as the audience."
"Extremely enjoyable----the band is absolutely PROFESSIONAL---onstage for 2 1/2+ hours and appearing to enjoy every minute. Their sound is magnificent----unbelievable for 40 years in the business!!"

Fleetwood Mac is still awesome! They performed all their hits. It was good to see Christie McVie back!
This was an incredible show. 2 1/2 hour non-stop performance that was more than even the most hard core Fleetwood Mac fans could have ever imagined. One of the best concerts ever!!!
What can I say, the concert was amazing, I love you Stevie! The band was great, the people in the crowd were great, I was with great people. I had an amazing time!
One of the best overall shows I have ever seen. I would go time and time again as long as Christine McVie is with them.

Amazing Fleetwood Mac concert. Nice to have Christine back in the group. One word.......UNFORGETTABLE
Ageless, They sound as good as they did in 1978 when I saw them back then. Over the years they have kept up the energy on stage and voices are beautiful.
They still rock! I have always wanted to see them in person, and this was exactly what I was waiting for! They played almost the entire Rumours album - plus many other favorites! This was awesome!

I am by no means a journalist, but I have been asked by some friends and my husband to share this posting with you from my Facebook. Please pardon the length, but I hope it makes you smile as I did when I attend last night’s performance of Fleetwood Mac at the Los Angeles Forum for their 79th show and final stop in Los Angeles. Who knows if we made music history, if this is the last time this prestigious band ever performs in LA, but what I had to say about the show deserves a little recognition, so I thought I would share. Magical…yes. Spiritual… yes that too. Amazing… yep, they were that as well! But no matter what adjective I use to describe last night’s concert, it will not fully exemplify the power and magnitude of such a Band that Fleetwood Mac actually is, and what it meant for me to witness their performance on stage. For those of you that have the time to read this, I want to express how I feel about witnessing a band that I have grown up listening to day in and day out,- Drowning myself in their music, resonating with every lyric, and feeling every rhythmic melody and guitar riff. For 2 and 1/2 hours, My partner and I were held captivated by their presence on stage, belting out songs that we all know so well, and chanting to the words of “Rhiannon" and "Little Lies", as if they had employed the entire 17,000 sold out arena to be their own back-up choir! For such a group to STILL be in the forefront of peoples minds that they can sell out shows like that, and get up and perform those wonderful songs with such a degree of showmanship is truly remarkable! Lindsey made every song sound like it was fresh from his fingers. Christine’s majestic voice echoed a synergy of lullabies as she sang out her classics - (some of which haven’t been performed in 20 years!) And Stevie, with her enchanting vocals, I’m sure put a spell on us all! For in those 2 1/2 hours, we forgot who we were, and we didn’t care about what came before or what was going to happen after - it was ALL about the music and ONLY that moment. All the years I had seen videos of their live performances back in the 70’s and 80’s, I found myself slipping in and out of this nostalgic feeling that I was somehow back in those era’s, witnessing this band for the first time the way everyone else had. It was a feeling that’s hard to put into words, when a supergroup as powerful as Fleetwood Mac, can suddenly transport you into a period of time, when concerts were JUST about the music. They didn’t do cartwheels, there was no confetti, no back up dancers… this was an escape into the creative minds of 5 wonderful artists, that came together to express their music, - and for us to imagine what it must feel like to be a Welsh Which, standing on a mountain with snow covered hills, or back in the velvet underground. Or even just to kick back in the tall grass and “do your stuff.” Whatever songs may resonate with you, there’s no doubt about it, Fleetwood Mac has made a lasting impact in music, forever - and you can’t deny their songs are just shy of perfect! So "On with the Show" - as the tour proclaims, Mick wailed on his drums like a madman pounding away with such precision! Then busting out a 5 minute drum solo that was like watching a epileptic nightmare, but still so amazing - you COULD’NT take your eyes off of him. John McVice kept his cool in the back next to Mick for most of the time, but had no shame when the spotlight illuminated him for his infamous base line on “The Chain”- which started the show. And the set-list was as good as any die-hard Mac-Daddy Fan could possibly wish for; with a few "Mac-gems" that I’ve never heard live before - (and probably inserted in there JUST FOR US!) It was truly a blessing I got to see them all perform together again. It may very well be their last, especially in Los Angeles, which to me feels like home, and a perfect way to experience this band that has been a part of my life from as long as I could comprehend. Up until this point they have only existed on a little piece of plastic that I would spin around constantly, but to see them live, well... I think this post gives you a glimpse of how amazing it truly was. As a kid, I remember buying my first 45 with my own money - (BY THE WAY I AM 30 years old, so records were rare for me in the 90’s), The song was "Silver Springs” and hearing that last night was like a trip back to the record store, where I fell in love with the song. And then following that was Christine’s masterpiece, “Songbird", which for a moment made me want to cry. Not only are the lyrics just the purest expression of Love, but the song is so short, that you long for more! And I knew that the show was over, but a part of me wished they could just play on for hours! And with that thought, I reminded myself just how quickly the moment could pass, just as quickly as that song. But even though the song is over, and the band has left the stage, just like their music… it will forever play on! Thank you Mick, John, Stevie, Lindsey, and Christine for giving us some of the best songs to vibe away to. And thank you for putting on such a spectacular show. More importantly, Thank you for taking us on a musical journey, that 17,000 people - which where total strangers before 8:00 pm last night, but for 2 and a half hours, had come together to be a part of something that was much bigger than ourselves! - Thank you!
This is one of my most favorite bands. And I made it a mission to see them in concert and when I missed them when they came to AZ I had to plan a trip to see them in Vegas. I really enjoyed myself and you would too. Fleetwood Mac is such an amazing band to see Live. Its an experience like no other and you can feel the emotion and the meaning of everything they do on the stage and their energy is just amazing. So natural and so personal. If you don't believe me. Why don't you go see them for yourself ; )
Lovely to see Christine McVie, the songbird, back with the band. The sound at the new Forum was amazing----perfect. Mick always looks so happy behind his drum kit. Stevie's voice is still such a treat to hear. And Lindsay's guitar playing has never sounded better. The man is a viruoso. The show including 3 curtain calls was nearly 3 hours long and the band exuded such energy---they seemed to be really happy to be back playing in L.A. and it showed.
