About

FLEETWOOD MAC IN CONCERT:

The Rumours are true: Fleetwood Mac will be joined by Christine McVie for their 2014 world tour, and the band is just as excited about it as their fans. McVie left the band for personal reasons back in 1998, making the Mac's subsequent touring somewhat of a bittersweet experience for concertgoers. Bittersweet no more, however — fans lucky enough to score a ticket to Fleetwood Mac's 2014 On With the Show tour will get to experience McVie classics like "Everywhere" and "Little Lies" alongside Fleetwood Mac staples like "Dreams" and "Rhiannon," marking the first time in nearly 20 years the band's classic lineup has toured together.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Legendary British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac was formed in 1967 by Peter Green and Mick Fleetwood. After moderate success as a no-frills blues band in the late '60s, the group underwent a turbulent period marked by lineup changes and lawsuits in the early '70s. With the additions of Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, and Stevie Nicks by 1975, the band entered their most successful period, riding to both critical and commercial acclaim with a string of No. 1 albums including Rumours (1977) and Mirage (1982). The group's chemistry both in and out of the studio resulted in some of the era's most enduring hits, and the continued popularity of songs like "Dreams," "Gypsy," and "Sara," have made them one of the top-selling acts of all time. Following Christine McVie's departure in 1998, the band continued to tour with a scaled-down lineup, thrilling fans in 2014 with the announcement of McVie's return for their On With the Show tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"This was the best concert that I have seen in years. They can still rock the house. Stevie Nicks still has a fantastic voice. Lindsey's guitar playing was out of this world."

"Stevie hasn't sounded this flawless in almost 20 years. Just absolutely awesome. GREAT energy by everybody in the band. The chemistry was excellent and I think the band had as good of a time as the audience."

"Extremely enjoyable----the band is absolutely PROFESSIONAL---onstage for 2 1/2+ hours and appearing to enjoy every minute. Their sound is magnificent----unbelievable for 40 years in the business!!"

Show was great. Three hours of Fleetwood Mac. Really great show.

  • 5 stars for Fleetwod Mac, the Forum, not so much

by unlucky on 4/20/15The Forum - InglewoodRating: 5 out of 5

Fleetwood Mac sang all their hits, the show was incredible! Their voices still sound fresh and fabulous! Loved the band. The Forum -not so much. No room in the seats, no cupholders, not enough ushers. Did like the swift parking though.

The show was truly awesome. The band was still tremendous even after all these years. Saw them in the late 70's and they don't look or act like that was 40yrs ago. WOW

  • Fleetwood Mac Rocks!!!

by Lifelongfanpjs on 4/20/15Chesapeake Energy Arena - Oklahoma CityRating: 5 out of 5

I have been to every Fleetwood Mac concert in Oklahoma City since the beginning and they never disappoint. This show was as good if not better than the 1st one. They just get better with time. Mick is still a fantastic drummer. John, a great bass guitarist. Lindsey still has the energy of a 20 year old. Christine McVie is back and better than ever and Stevie, well Stevie is perfection. I never grow old of hearing their music and the light show was spectacular. I am so glad I went to this show and if god willing they tour again and come through OKC, I will be there. Simply an awesome performance by all!

THE BEST CONCERT I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO. THEY STARTED AT 8:15 P.M. AND DID NOT STOP UNTIL 10:45 P.M. I COULD HAVE LISTENED TO STEVIE ALL NIGHT. THEY WERE ALL AMAZING.

  • They are consummate entertainers

    by Elkhunter5 on 4/20/15The Forum - InglewoodRating: 4 out of 5

It was great to have all five of the group together. Yes, the voices are not what they used to be, but they presented well, and gave what they were able to give. It was a great professional show.

  • Fleetwood and Stevie still have it!!!

Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nix, Christine, the guys were amazing! They didn't have an opening act--they played from 8-10:30pm. The lead guitarist never took a break--what an incredibly talented man!! They put on a great show!

by HoneyBee70 on 4/20/15Chesapeake Energy Arena - Oklahoma CityRating: 5 out of 5

I was so please Christine McVie joined in on this tour. I was Fleetwood Mac in 2009, 2012, and now this one and by far the best. I adore everyone in this band. I was amazed at the energy Lindsey Buckingham displayed. Mick Fleetwood is just one cool cat. And the ladies, Stevie & Christine looked and sounded amazing!!!

This was one of the bands on my bucket list and it was well worth the wait, now I'm off to Dallas in two weeks to see The Who.

They quit selling beer around 10. The band didn't play "Hold Me" so that was disappointing. So glad they are back together & touring! Parking wasn't bad or expensive.

  • Fleetwood Mac in OKC

As most of my friends know, we got to catch Fleetwood Mac in concert last Friday night at the Chesapeake in Oklahoma City. Several folks have asked me about the show so I thought I would just post the highlights. First let me say I always love going to that venue, there isn't a bad seat in the Chesapeake. Right out of the gate the band was crisp and on cue, delivering one hit after another. They sounded as good if not better than they did forty years ago when they started. This particular show was the 80th in the tour but you wouldn't have known that without Stevie Nicks having said it. The energy and enthusiasm was as if it was the first show of the tour. Kristine McVie was on point as always and much like the rest of the band her vocals were as solid as ever. Of course Stevie Nicks in true gypsy fashion danced and twirled all over the stage and somewhere around the second or third song into the set you forget how long this band has been rocking and you see that same girl singing her heart out in some mid 70's tour. Eternally young and vibrant literally transforming the audience into a living breathing heartbeat caught up with her voice. That alone is an awesome show but go ahead and pile on Lindsey Buckingham just shredding his guitar all through the show and belting out the songs that bring back a plethora of memories and emotions. You can imagine that as the band performs and you are hearing each great tune you soon discover that within that fluid mystical bit of matter that is Fleetwood Mac each member emerges individually throughout the set taking the audience in a different direction on a personal experience with them, then before you know it your back and your watching each element grooving together again and you realize all over again that your actually there with Fleetwood Mac. "Land Slide", Gold Dust Woman", "Rhiannon", "Dreams", "The Chain", "Tusk", "Little Lies" "Seven Wonders", "Big Love" and the list went on and on, for 3 hours they pounded them out never missing a beat, never a drag or delay. As the show neared the end and you found yourself racking your mind attempting to think of a song they haven't played yet Mick Fleetwood emerges with a drum solo that creates an atmosphere in the venue of energy that brings you right back to the level of excitement you had when you first walked through the door. The band took all of a three minute break the returned for the encore with every seat in the venue still full. The enthusiasm and energy was so thick in the Chesapeake I noticed that Lindsay Buckingham never left the stage instead he walked to the side and interacted with the audience and bystanders. Closing out with "Go Your Own Way" and "Don't Stop" followed by a special address from Stevie the Mick. I will say with confidence that if Fleetwood Mac is within a 200 mile radius performing I will be there.

  • Fleetwood Mac Rocking the Peake!!!!

by Flaming1 on 4/20/15Chesapeake Energy Arena - Oklahoma CityRating: 5 out of 5

After 40 years and still sounding great as ever. Almost 20,000 people in one arena agree!! There's a reason they are still selling out venues and that is because they still sound and play as they did 40 yrs. ago. What a performance!!! Almost 3 hrs.

  • Just ok

by NotChelsea on 4/20/15Chesapeake Energy Arena - Oklahoma CityRating: 3 out of 5

Not a huge FM fan, so I vote the concert was just ok. Not great and the arena was not designed for concerts so it was difficult to hear the words.

  • Fleetwood Mac lives on

Excellent show. They sound even better live. They're complete with Christine McVie.

  • Bad sound, boring lighting, weak playlist

by PMBX on 4/20/15Chesapeake Energy Arena - Oklahoma CityRating: 1 out of 5

I expected more from this team of very seasoned professionals.

Excellent music, but the sound quality was horrible.
