About

FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS IN CONCERT:

Retro indie-pop group Fitz and the Tantrums are keeping the Motown Sound alive and well with their modern take on classic soul and funk. Combining call-and-response vocals,  backbeat tambourines, and vintage-inspired instrumentation, the band's electric live shows are equal parts shimmy and shake, inspiring nonstop dance parties as fans sing along to infectious pop masterpieces like "MoneyGrabber" and "Out of My League." Riding high on the success of their sophomore album More than Just a Dream, Fitz and the Tantrums are set to treat fans to another round of unforgettable shows on tour in 2014.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Michael Fitzpatrick formed LA-based Fitz and the Tantrums in 2008 after purchasing a Conn electronic organ -- an instrument that would prove vital in the development of the band's retro sound. The group performed their first show just one week after their first rehearsal, underscoring an effortless chemistry that was readily apparent on their 2009 debut EP Songs for a Breakup, Vol. 1. After touring with Maroon 5 and performing at SXSW, the band signed with Dangerbird Records for their 2010 debut LP Pickin' Up the Pieces. The album landed at No. 1 on the Billboard's Heatseekers Albums Chart, establishing the group as one of the most promising rising talents in indie-pop and paving the way for 2013 sophomore effort More than Just  a Dream — a Top 40 hit on the Billboard 200.

  • Will follow Fitz anywhere!

I loved that Andy Grammer and Fitz both played, one of the best concert experiences ever (and I go to many). Both groups are very positive fun music. Would go again in a heartbeat to seem them!

Fitz and the Tantrums were outstanding as ever! I love that they bring in so many throwback songs. Didn’t stop dancing for their entire set. Will DEFINITELY plan on seeing them again when they tour back around.

I have been a fan of both Fitz and The Tantrums AND St Paul and the Broken Bones since their very first albums. The high energy from Fitz and The Tantrums was contagious and had people dancing and clapping. Their signature harmonies and big brass sound did not fail to please. St Paul and The Broken Bones' style is described as retro-soul and is highlighted by Paul Janeway's fabulous voice. He took a stroll out through the crowd and high-fived me and others. Even first timers commented what a fantastic show it was. As a fan of both bands, I was smiling for days

  • Fake Energy

Fitz played a very rehearsed show. Nothing felt genuine. They had too much auto tune on the voices and it sounded like you were listening to a radio edit. The mass exodus when they started playing was the most entertaining part.

  • A rockin good show!

Fitz and the Tantrums put on a real high energy performance. We had great seats for a great show.

  • Soooo late….

by PirateJo on 6/25/22Rating: 1 out of 5

I love these guys. Trust me. Love them so much but it’s SUPER frustrating when you don’t announce another band that what was scheduled. Concert started at 8, you didn’t come on until 11:00pm. Read your audience. We are all over 30. We’re tired. Why did it take 45 min between each set? You want the crowd to be involved? Start earlier.

  • Excellent

Excellent concert. Fitz and the Tantrums is a high energy show... they never stopped! I have tickets to see them again in Michigan and can't wait! TCU is an excellent venue in Indianapolis. It's small and was close to the hotel we were staying at.

  • Great Show

by Tmikeb on 6/21/22TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

St. Paul and the Broken Bones stole the show. Venue is excellent perhaps I have ever been too. Parking and distance to venue from garage is the issue. Fitz was great and the opening act Devon was very good. Still common problems...parking too expensive, beer way overpriced.

Great show! My favorite venue in Indianapolis. Thanks!

  • good, but they have been better

    by G. W. on 6/19/22Constellation Brands–Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center: CMAC - CanandaiguaRating: 4 out of 5

weird, opening act was on stage longer than Fitz weird, I paid for good seats, and Fitz told the people on the lawn to come down and hundreds ran into the amphitheater and grabbed (empty) expensive seats

  • Concert great;crowd control awful

by Beth on 6/18/22Stone Pony Summer Stage - Asbury ParkRating: 2 out of 5

The venue was set up really poorly. It was too easy to buy alcohol (booze concessions lined the venue on two sides) and too hard to buy food, which was all the way in the back. There were too many people who were out-of-control drunk and they didn't seem to have a hard time buying more alcohol even though they were visibly wasted. One drunk individual stumbled into me, knocking me to the ground where I hit my head. I ended up in an ambulance to the ER and missed half of the Fitz set. Security responded quickly, which I appreciated but I wish there had been more of an effort to prevent such incidents by cutting off drunk people at the alcohol concessions.

  • St. Paul and the Broken Bones were so much better

by Dan on 6/17/22Constellation Brands–Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center: CMAC - CanandaiguaRating: 1 out of 5

I honestly purchased my tix to see St. Paul, but figured even if I wasn’t crazy about Fitz, live music is always good, right? Not to mention fact that St. Paul absolutely killed during their set, so I figure any band that has some respect will want to try and match/outperform the opener. I was wrong. Left after 5 or so songs - the Fitz portion of the show was awful! More St. Paul, a lot less Fitz and the Tantrums!

  • fantastic show

by Joe on 6/17/22Constellation Brands–Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center: CMAC - CanandaiguaRating: 5 out of 5

Fitz always puts on a great show and this one did not disappoint

  • Fitz great, openers meh

by SW on 6/17/22Constellation Brands–Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center: CMAC - CanandaiguaRating: 3 out of 5

Fitz was great. Lively, played hits and some others. Shorter set than expected due to opener running long. The opening bands were definitely a more mellow sound than Fitz. Interesting combo for sure.

  • Great show!

This was our second time seeing Fitz & The Tantrums live and we had a fantastic time. They bring a high level of energy to the stage and are great at engaging the audience. We were on our feet the whole time. Noelle Scaggs does an especially amazing job at getting everyone pumped up. Can't wait to see our next show! This was our first time seeing the band at CMAC - the venue was a lot of fun and it was easy getting in and out.

Last weekend's show was the best yet!!! So much fun, great energy and connection with the crowd. St. Paul and the BB were great too. They played all my favorite shows!! A fantastic evening at the Stony Pony Summer Stage to listen, sing and dance to live music.
