FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS IN CONCERT:
Retro indie-pop group Fitz and the Tantrums are keeping the Motown Sound alive and well with their modern take on classic soul and funk. Combining call-and-response vocals, backbeat tambourines, and vintage-inspired instrumentation, the band's electric live shows are equal parts shimmy and shake, inspiring nonstop dance parties as fans sing along to infectious pop masterpieces like "MoneyGrabber" and "Out of My League." Riding high on the success of their sophomore album More than Just a Dream, Fitz and the Tantrums are set to treat fans to another round of unforgettable shows on tour in 2014.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Michael Fitzpatrick formed LA-based Fitz and the Tantrums in 2008 after purchasing a Conn electronic organ -- an instrument that would prove vital in the development of the band's retro sound. The group performed their first show just one week after their first rehearsal, underscoring an effortless chemistry that was readily apparent on their 2009 debut EP Songs for a Breakup, Vol. 1. After touring with Maroon 5 and performing at SXSW, the band signed with Dangerbird Records for their 2010 debut LP Pickin' Up the Pieces. The album landed at No. 1 on the Billboard's Heatseekers Albums Chart, establishing the group as one of the most promising rising talents in indie-pop and paving the way for 2013 sophomore effort More than Just a Dream — a Top 40 hit on the Billboard 200.

fitz and the tantrums are a must-see!
by lux564 on 2/13/14The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5so, i went to this show knowing only a few songs by heart. i was a casual fan of this band, but now i couldn't love them more!! they had SO MUCH energy, which never faltered, and their interaction with the crowd was so cute. the stage setup was great, the setlist was great, fitz and noelle (the lead singers) were a ton of fun to watch and you could tell they were having so much fun as well, and everything was just amazing. i can't recommend seeing fitz and the tantrums enough. they have such a unique style of music, and their concert just felt like one huge dance party. this band is so special, and their music really makes people happy. if you have the chance to see this band, GO!
Fitz & The Tantrums keeps the energy going!!
by Elle336 on 12/3/13Roseland Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5This was my second time seeing Fitz & The Tantrums live and they did not disappoint! Great music - singing is awesome, as are the instrumentals. The whole concert is so high energy, I was dancing the whole time with much of the crowd. They seem like genuine people as well - really appreciative of the fans. Capital Cities opened and they sounded good! I missed most of the opening unfortunately but the little I heard peaked my interest! Roseland Ballroom was a fun venue. They pack in a large crowd, but it was never overwhelmingly swamped near the back and pretty easy to get a drink/ go to the bathroom.
Awesome
by Renobatogi on 11/29/13Myth - MaplewoodRating: 5 out of 5Capital cities and fitz and the tantrums put on amazing live shows, both better than the cd. If you havnt seen them yet get out before the shows get to big because it's going to happen soon
Fitz and the Trantrums. at The Myth
by Debbie84 on 11/27/13Myth - MaplewoodRating: 1 out of 5The band was great, but the sound was terrible. We could only watch the show from monitors with bad resolution. The sight lines are only available if you show up at doors and are lucky enough to score standing room only at the railing or on the floor.
SOOOO GOOODD!!!
by Anonymous on 11/25/13STEPHENS AUDITORIUM - AmesRating: 5 out of 5Amazing show! I definitely want to see these bands again!
Capital Cities was a blast!
by cmlrun on 11/25/13STEPHENS AUDITORIUM - AmesRating: 4 out of 5Over-all the concert experience was great. I had awesome seats (2nd row mid-stage). The opening band was good, and fun (Beat Club, I believe). Capital Cities was a lot of FUN! They were engaging, very entertaining.. and sounded great! Spencer the trumpet player is amazing and very spunky. Could watch and listen to him all evening! Fitz was a bit disappointing.. no personality! He sang, sounded ok, but seemed very awkward. The rest of the band wasn't much better.. except for Noelle is great, but the load of entertaining seems to lie on her shoulders.

Fitz and the Tantrums & the Capital Cities show was incredible. You have to go see them. If you want a fun dance party accompanied with solid vocals, and all the instruments you can image-buy your ticket now. I will mos def see both bands again. It was so much fun. There was never a dull moment. Myth is a good venue for shows but a pain to drive and park at. Thanks for coming to minneapolis!
Great Fun!
by Jamphan on 11/25/13Myth - MaplewoodRating: 4 out of 5Lively, dynamic show. Superb singing. Songs were not as compelling or as stirring live as I would have thought. Capitol Cities, the band that played second and right before Fitz, was more interesting in some ways and more fun to dance to. Still, the Tantrums put it out there with a lot of energy and great interplay among all the musicians.
best concert I've ever been to
by ericathewhovian on 11/24/13Myth - MaplewoodRating: 5 out of 5Absolutely fantastic. I came in with small knowledge of the bands and left a huge fan of all three. Beat Club was amazing. Capital Cities had the most exciting set in my opinion and Fitz and the tantrums were a joy to watch. Best show I've ever seen. I would go a million times over
Good, but Capital Cities>Fitz
by Erik52 on 11/24/13Myth - MaplewoodRating: 4 out of 5Myth nightclub, the venue, was great for an event like this! The drink selection was horrible, though. The bartenders were nice, at least. I would go back for another concert, but not for night out on the town. The bouncers did well being nice to the patrons, which I very much appreciated. Both headliners were really great. I would have to say, though, that Capital Cities did so much better than Fitz, which made me sad. Fitz just seemed a little rehearsed. Capital cities felt much more organic. It seemed like their heart was more in it. I could tell they were having fun with it. Additionally, the trumpet player was amazing!!! I would go to a concert just for him haha

Amazing live performance! They were as great live as on the radio!!
Fun, energetic show
by cupcakerloover on 11/24/13Myth - MaplewoodRating: 5 out of 5Fitz and the Tantrums and Capital Cities was great. The opening band, (I don't even remember hearing what they called themselves) was ALRIGHT, but my friend and I didn't think their style of music meshed the best with the other two bands. Other than that, the show was really fun with a young, energetic feeling to it. This was my first concert in the past 6 years and it made me want to get back into going to shows!
Fitz and the ts and Capital Cities were epic!
by Jpak1341 on 11/24/13Myth - MaplewoodRating: 5 out of 5Both bands were exciting and got the crowd going. Their music is really good on their CDs but they are much better live! This performance makes me want to go back next time they come to concert in the Twin Cities. I loved it when capital cities did the dance beat at the end of their performance because it made everyone dance and loosen up. Also I loved the song Last Raindrop that fitz and the tantrums sang. The duet was beautiful
Fitz and the Tantrums!

Capital Cities absolutely stole the show! I could've listened to another set from them instead of watching Fitz be old and creepy with the Tantrums. Sign me up for when Capital Cities does another tour!
Talent in spades
by OldindieGirl on 11/22/13STEPHENS AUDITORIUM - AmesRating: 5 out of 5I bought the ticket solely on my love for Fitz and the Tantrums and got a whole lot more with the bright futures tour. We were pleasantly surprised by the opening band Beat Club with their garage band-meets snythpop sounds. Next up was Capital Cities and of course I knew their two hits, but felt their show was pleasant and fun...and their finale was incredible as 1,000 of us enjoyed an AWESOME DANCE PARTY. Wish that was on their CD! What can I say about F&TT? So wonderful, so talented, a great show and just what I hoped for. I'd see them again in a heartbeat.
A Great Night!
by SalineConcertGoer on 11/20/13The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 4 out of 5Outstanding show all around. All 3 acts (Beat Club / Capital Cities / Fitz & the Tantrums) put forth their best. Plenty of energy, lots of fun, enough effects to entertain but not dominate, enough volume to feel the music without having to check your ears for bleeding. It was as good as I had hoped it would be. Probably actually 4 1/2 stars - I am pretty stingy with 5 stars.
- by Anonymous on 11/20/13The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5
Both bands brought great energy to their sets. I wasn't really a fan of Capital Cities before the concert, but since seeing their set I've been listening to their album on repeat. Fitz and the Tantrums did a great job, as usual. Perhaps would have liked a longer set with a couple more of their old songs or covers. I'm definitely going to see these bands the next time they're in my area.
Fun night of dancing to great music
