FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS IN CONCERT:
Retro indie-pop group Fitz and the Tantrums are keeping the Motown Sound alive and well with their modern take on classic soul and funk. Combining call-and-response vocals, backbeat tambourines, and vintage-inspired instrumentation, the band's electric live shows are equal parts shimmy and shake, inspiring nonstop dance parties as fans sing along to infectious pop masterpieces like "MoneyGrabber" and "Out of My League." Riding high on the success of their sophomore album More than Just a Dream, Fitz and the Tantrums are set to treat fans to another round of unforgettable shows on tour in 2014.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Michael Fitzpatrick formed LA-based Fitz and the Tantrums in 2008 after purchasing a Conn electronic organ -- an instrument that would prove vital in the development of the band's retro sound. The group performed their first show just one week after their first rehearsal, underscoring an effortless chemistry that was readily apparent on their 2009 debut EP Songs for a Breakup, Vol. 1. After touring with Maroon 5 and performing at SXSW, the band signed with Dangerbird Records for their 2010 debut LP Pickin' Up the Pieces. The album landed at No. 1 on the Billboard's Heatseekers Albums Chart, establishing the group as one of the most promising rising talents in indie-pop and paving the way for 2013 sophomore effort More than Just a Dream — a Top 40 hit on the Billboard 200.

"Fitz And The Tantrums put on a great concert!!! The setlist was awesome and the crowd was singing and dancing with the band!!!"
"Loved this concert. They were so good -- all their music is so distinct. Excellent musicianship all the way around and TONS of energy."
The whole concert is so high energy, I was dancing the whole time with much of the crowd. They seem like genuine people as well - really appreciative of the fans."

Highly recommend this band. Fun let the crowd entertained danced the whole time
First time visit to Big Night Live, Boston. The venue and the concert lived up to its name somewhat - Big Night Live. My friend and I arrived just before the main act arrived on stage. The venue was packed, the atmosphere was good and security was present but not invasive. If one was not lucky enough to be upfront either on the main floor or one of the raised floors in the club one's sight lines can be difficult for people with less height. I stand six feet one inch and found the stage to be less than easy to view mainly due to the number of people in the audience and the floor layout. I will return and enjoy the club for another show when the time comes. However. if management really wants their customers to have a better experience and unrestricted view of the performers they would restrict the number of people, a smaller audience would provide a much better entertainment experience and then the venue would truly deserve the TITLE "BIG NIGHT LIVE BOSTON"
The Fitz and The Tantrums show was great. The Big Night Live venue was clean and a really nice place to see a show.
Saw Fitz & the Tantrums, they were awesome! We could have used more info upfront from BNL (bought tickets w/o detail saying they were SRO). Read some reviews & realized we’d be standing the whole time. No bueno! So I reserved a table. Didn’t tell me not to get in the GA line - you go through Guy Fieri’s to get to tables. Once we were seated it was outstanding! Service was good, prices are outrageous but you aren’t actually buying tickets for the performance. Def the way to go! Only venue criticism is the lack of bathrooms on one whole side of the venue. Very inconvenient, esp irritating for VIP table patrons.
Longtime fan of Fitz & The Tantrums and oh, man, they KILLED this show!! Nothing short of amazing!! Lack of a star for some unpreparedness from the venue but all and all a great night!!
The performance was great, the venue so so. Visibility not good from where we stood.
My first time seeing Fitz and the Tantrums. They brought amazing energy to the 9:30 Club. Awesome venue for shows and had a great time seeing them. Would love to see them again and will def go back to 9:30 for other events.
Show was good. Band was awesome! Lights behind the band were annoying. Couldn’t see much of the band with the lights blaring in the background. Other than that, no complaints.
Great Band! Very entertaining !and will definitely see them again also a great intimate venue
This band is just fun!! So much fun to sing along to and dance. Great energy. Leave the show singing and clapping long after its over! 10/10
Great show. Great venue. Whole group of us enjoyed!
This show was amazing. Every song was a hit and the new album is super fun. Fitz and Noelle have incredible chemistry--you can tell they love performing and interacting with the audience. Best show I've seen in a while!
Fitz and The Tantrums put on a really fun and energetic show. It was great to finally see them live.
Meet and greet with fitz and the Tantrums is always a great time and worth the $$. Took my son for his 16th birthday and we had an amazing time. Looking forward to seeing them again 😀
We arrived before the opener and couldn't make it past the bar area. There were people watching from the lobby. Half my view of the stage was blocked by the computer monitors in the sound/light/etc booth. Band, security and bar service was excellent though!
Great show. It was a more intimate atmosphere with a lot of energy. Would definitely go see them again.
St. Andrews Hall needs to get WIFI. St. Andrews Hall needs to get WIFI.
The first two albums are the heart and soul of this band; they were truly unique, especially the first (neo-soul w/ old school motown vibes). You only play 1 song off of the first album? Lame sauce man, the new stuff is just over-produced schlock to make a buck. No wonder you have an opener who is essentially the real life version of Connor4Real (complete w/ a 'DJ' whose instrument is hitting play on a Macbook). Get back to your roots!
What a fun band to see live, they were into it, they interacted with the crowd and they put on a great fun show. I was there with my 11 year old child and the venue staff were very welcoming and accommodating for us and other families with kids at the show...made sure we had a good view and the kids were not getting crowded out of the view.
