About

FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS IN CONCERT:

Retro indie-pop group Fitz and the Tantrums are keeping the Motown Sound alive and well with their modern take on classic soul and funk. Combining call-and-response vocals,  backbeat tambourines, and vintage-inspired instrumentation, the band's electric live shows are equal parts shimmy and shake, inspiring nonstop dance parties as fans sing along to infectious pop masterpieces like "MoneyGrabber" and "Out of My League." Riding high on the success of their sophomore album More than Just a Dream, Fitz and the Tantrums are set to treat fans to another round of unforgettable shows on tour in 2014.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Michael Fitzpatrick formed LA-based Fitz and the Tantrums in 2008 after purchasing a Conn electronic organ -- an instrument that would prove vital in the development of the band's retro sound. The group performed their first show just one week after their first rehearsal, underscoring an effortless chemistry that was readily apparent on their 2009 debut EP Songs for a Breakup, Vol. 1. After touring with Maroon 5 and performing at SXSW, the band signed with Dangerbird Records for their 2010 debut LP Pickin' Up the Pieces. The album landed at No. 1 on the Billboard's Heatseekers Albums Chart, establishing the group as one of the most promising rising talents in indie-pop and paving the way for 2013 sophomore effort More than Just  a Dream — a Top 40 hit on the Billboard 200.

FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS IN CONCERT:

"Fitz And The Tantrums put on a great concert!!! The setlist was awesome and the crowd was singing and dancing with the band!!!"

"Loved this concert. They were so good -- all their music is so distinct. Excellent musicianship all the way around and TONS of energy."

The whole concert is so high energy, I was dancing the whole time with much of the crowd. They seem like genuine people as well - really appreciative of the fans."

  • FUN.

by Michelle on 5/14/25Revolution Live - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Seen them a few times and they never disappoint! They still sound great and their energy is infectious. Band is on point. Love the horns. Wish they played some more oldies but loved it still.

  • Amazing

One of the best concerts I have been to. Small intimate venue, such a treat to see them.

  • Always a great show

This band always puts on a great show and we see them whenever they come to town. They are high energy, entertaining and fun.

  • Fitz at Greenfield

by FB on 5/12/25Greenfield Lake Amphitheater - WilmingtonRating: 5 out of 5

This venue is one of the best and the band rocked it. DO NOT PURCHASE FAST LANE. This was a total Live Nation rip off. Did not need it and there wasn't even an area at venue showing that is was available. We will know next time.

  • Performance was good but not timely

by Gray on 5/11/25Greenfield Lake Amphitheater - WilmingtonRating: 2 out of 5

They cut out 30 minutes early and live nation started shoveling us out writhin 5 mins. I’ve been going to Greenfield Lake Amphitheater for over 15 years and seen hundreds of concerts, and this was highly unusual.

  • fitz and the tantrums

by jackie on 5/11/25Greenfield Lake Amphitheater - WilmingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Love Greenfield Lake amphitheter. An imtimate venue with not a bad seat. This was the best I have seen Fitz and the Tantrums and I have seen them a few times at various venues. It seemed like the sound system was better and a few background electronics added. They are always a fun, energetic show. We danced from the first song to the last. Very talented musicians.

  • Small but big!

by Maggie on 5/11/25Greenfield Lake Amphitheater - WilmingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Great venue, small town feel with big love! Great way to see the local scene, as well as the headliners! Fitz and the Tantrums put together a great show! From the well known to the latest releases! Everyone was dancing and singing! Kiddos were here, having a great time too! Small family style venue which made it safe and fun for all!

  • Blown Away

by LBJRB on 5/11/25Greenfield Lake Amphitheater - WilmingtonRating: 5 out of 5

This was not my first time seeing Fitz and the Tantrums and this will not be my last but up until this point this has been the best show. The band is so engaged with the audience and makes everyone get out of their seats to dance! You just leave their shows uplifted and smiling. I felt my mental burden disappear in their energy. This is just one of the best bands out there today. The positivity is contagious. Thank you Fitz and the Tantrums for taking me away from life for two hours! You guys ROCK!

The concert was under an hour. Felt like I did not get my money’s worth.

  • Unbelievable!

by CooLC on 8/5/24Greenfield Lake Amphitheater - WilmingtonRating: 5 out of 5

This was our 6th time seeing Fitz and The Tantrums and it was the best yet! The energy was incredible. The venue is one of our favorites (Greenfield Lake Wilmington, NC) and added to our fantastically fun experience. We've seen them in larger venues and this time was just amazing. GFL-please add some gluten friendly food to make it even more perfect. Thanks!

  • Late to the Party

by penm on 8/4/24Greenfield Lake Amphitheater - WilmingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Why did I wait so long to see these guys live? Got tix to this show bc they were relatively cheap and Greenfield Lake Amphitheater is a great venue (tho it was even better before Live Nation took it over). Fitz and the Tantrums did not disappoint! I'd just come back from 5 days at a festival and was still recovering when I went to this show - I didn't sit down the entire show! They were in top form and talked about how they love playing this venue. I will definitely go to every Fitz show in the area again and again. It was a memorable show and a great time.

  • A fun concert!

by Jodi on 8/2/24Greenfield Lake Amphitheater - WilmingtonRating: 5 out of 5

A beautiful venue for a fun evening! Fitz and the Tantrums always give a great show! So happy they love our small city!

  • Fitz was Fab

by Lori on 8/2/24Greenfield Lake Amphitheater - WilmingtonRating: 4 out of 5

We love Greenfield Lake Amphitheater. The size, location, and early start time are perfect for us. The food, however, was not. We paid $12 for 4 jalapeño poppers and $13 dollars for 4 small chicken tenders and soggy fries. That part was a disappointment. We will eat before we go next time. The band, however, was fantastic! It was our third time seeing Fitz and the Tantrums. Nice booking!

  • High energy fun

by CU Jimmie on 8/2/24Greenfield Lake Amphitheater - WilmingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Fits and the Tantrums are a great, fun, high energy band. Hadn’t seen them live before but will go again.

  • An energetic thrill

by Shawna on 8/2/24Greenfield Lake Amphitheater - WilmingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve been a low key fan of fitz and the tantrums fan for years so when I heard they were coming to my favorite venue I snagged a ticket. Boy was glad I did! I might have to become a super fan now. By far one of the most energetic and fun concerts I have been to in years. I will definitely go again to any concert of theirs that is even remotely near me! Loved the experience and the way they interacted with and appreciated the audience.

  • Greenfield Lake Amphitheatre!

by Jake on 8/2/24Greenfield Lake Amphitheater - WilmingtonRating: 3 out of 5

Great show while they were playing! Doors opened at 6:00, a DJ played until 7:43 and they played until 8:43 before a two song encore. Love Fitz and the Tantrums but I won’t buy ticket next time knowing I’m only going to watch them for an 1:10 mins.

  • So much fun

by FitzFan on 7/17/24Empire Live - AlbanyRating: 5 out of 5

Definitely an awesome, fun time! Don’t be afraid to bring the family.

  • Good Show!!!

by EricB on 7/16/24Empire Live - AlbanyRating: 4 out of 5

Enjoyable show! The acts both got on the stage promptly. I liked the opening act as well. Fitz and the Tantrums played most of their hits, but not all, and I would have liked to have heard a few more, to be honest. But it wasn't bad. Lively and energetic. Their craft was stellar. Highly recommended!!!

  • Great show!

by Cros on 7/15/24Empire Live - AlbanyRating: 5 out of 5

Lots of energy! Fitz and the Tantrums did not disappoint. I saw them last in Northampton, Mass. about 6 years ago and their voices were just as good now as then. Nicolle and Fitz were very lively and their passion for live performance showed through. I would definitely see them again.

  • FITZ WAS FANTASTCI

by PAT on 7/15/24Empire Live - AlbanyRating: 5 out of 5

FITS AND THE TANTRUMS PUT ON AN INCREDIBLE SHOW AT EMPIRE LIVE. THEY HAD A FEW HICCUPS WITH THE STAGE LIGHTS IN THE BEGINNING BUT THAT DID NOT TAKE AWAY FROM THEIR MUSICAL PERFORMANCE AND WHEN THEY WERE FIGURED OUT IT ONLY ADDED TO THE EXPERERIENCE. I SAW THEM A FEW YEARS BACK AT UPSTATE CONCERT HALL AND THOUGHT THEY WERE GREAT THEN BUT I ENJOYED THEM MORE THIS TIME. THEY WERE GREAT.
