FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS IN CONCERT:
Retro indie-pop group Fitz and the Tantrums are keeping the Motown Sound alive and well with their modern take on classic soul and funk. Combining call-and-response vocals, backbeat tambourines, and vintage-inspired instrumentation, the band's electric live shows are equal parts shimmy and shake, inspiring nonstop dance parties as fans sing along to infectious pop masterpieces like "MoneyGrabber" and "Out of My League." Riding high on the success of their sophomore album More than Just a Dream, Fitz and the Tantrums are set to treat fans to another round of unforgettable shows on tour in 2014.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Michael Fitzpatrick formed LA-based Fitz and the Tantrums in 2008 after purchasing a Conn electronic organ -- an instrument that would prove vital in the development of the band's retro sound. The group performed their first show just one week after their first rehearsal, underscoring an effortless chemistry that was readily apparent on their 2009 debut EP Songs for a Breakup, Vol. 1. After touring with Maroon 5 and performing at SXSW, the band signed with Dangerbird Records for their 2010 debut LP Pickin' Up the Pieces. The album landed at No. 1 on the Billboard's Heatseekers Albums Chart, establishing the group as one of the most promising rising talents in indie-pop and paving the way for 2013 sophomore effort More than Just a Dream — a Top 40 hit on the Billboard 200.

House of Blues was a great place to see them. The lighting was off, but their performance was excellent
Their voices are even better in person, lots of energy. The saxophonist/keyboardist is insanely talented. Would love to see them again...just go dance!!
The energy level at this concert from the opening act through the end of the performance by Fitz and the Tantrums was amazing! There was no way to leave the show any other way that happy! The choice of opening act with ax and the hatchetmen was also a great match!
Fitz and the Tantrums were Awesome. Fun, Upbeat, and Super Positive Vibes.
Fits and the Tantrums are such a treat. They deliver nonstop crowd pleasing music and energetic dancing and jumping and audience participation start to finish. This concert began with the debut of a band member's 10-year old son playing guitar and singing a song he wrote about third grade! He was delightful! Fitz's interacting with the audience seemed to be as much fun for him as the crowd! The whole band was enthusiastic through to the end. Noelle is amazing and the talent of the entire band, particularly ____ King who plays several instruments, is impressive. The music was a blend of older songs and new songs which, to me, kept it fresh. I had never been to the venue, Artpark; I was very pleased. The security team did their job quietly, leaving us feeling safe to enjoy the show. One annoying attendee, who was high or intoxicated, was removed after a few incidents. It was done in a low-key, respectful way. If you hadn't been in the area where he was acting up you probably wouldn't have noticed the eviction. The entire evening was a blast!!
Fitz and the Tantrums never disappoint! Playing new releases yet bringing back older classics always gets the crowd going. Always sharing the love with some of their oldest fans.
We've been to three live shows and each time we are up on our feet dancing, singing, waving hands, and having a great time throughout the whole show. This past time we brought our kids and they agreed - they both said it was the best concert they had ever been to, and we go to a lot of concerts.
Fitz and the Tantrums is such a great live experience. They’re hard-working and sound exceptional live, all the while bringing tons of energy to the venue. ‘Fun’ is an understatement with them.
Fitz and the Tantrums is one of the best to see live because they are a VIBE. We’ve seen them multiple times, but this show was the best yet. The energy, the music, and the way they clearly love their fans make the entire experience.
Enjoyed every minute of Fitz and the Tantrums. They have such great energy! I had fun and danced the entire time!
On Wed. 8/7 I went to see Fitz And The Tantrums perform for at least the 20th time. They have become my all-time favorite musical act. I arrived early enough to get close to front and center on the rail. Before the show, a few band members had gone out for coffee and spoke with the fans before going on their tour bus - that was a special treat! Ax And The Hatchetman, six young men from Chicago, opened with a 45 minute set. They were very energetic, and happy to play in their hometown. A few of their parents and significant others attended the show too. Fitz's set included many songs from their new album, Man On The Moon, as well as good selections from previous releases. They acknowledged how much Chicago meant to them when they began and throughout the years. I danced and jumped and sang and yelled most of the night, but I could never match their high power. I'll definitely see them again soon, and you should too!
the sylvee is a nice venue. the opening act Ax and the Hachetmen were the perfect fit...loved the music, and they are a chicago based group...Fitz and the Tantrum kept the upbeat vibe going and were a crowd pleaser....the vocals of both bands were great. both bands seemed like they were having a good time and it reflexed in their music....as I said...BEST CONCERT all around....
Such a fun band! Fitz and Noelle has such great energy for a live performance. The instrumental is amazing too. The sax player outdid themself! It was a great night.
Fitz and the Tantrums are great performers and nice people! They sang a mix of their hits and tacks of their new album and they were awesome. The Sylvee was an excellent venue and I was able to see them up close and get a signature from Fitz. Their opening act, Ax and the Hatchetmen were also great. It was a great night of music and the singers and musicians were amazing.
Thank you, Fitz and The Tantrums! We danced the whole time. It also means a lot when the artists can geniunely connect with the audience. It has been a week since the show and we are still on the Moon.
These guys are really good. Very entertaining. 1st class. I’m a metal head so I was really wondering if I would like the show. I loved it. I will definitely go again.
Fitz & The Tantrums a force to be reckoned with. They have a contagious energy and willingly share that with the crowd. It really shows they enjoy performing. The vocals sound strong with the duo of Fitz & Noelle. We enjoyed dancing with the audience around us. The brass instruments add personality to the show as well. Highly recommend seeing them.
Fitz and co great Lose the opener Ax and the Hatchetmen really
Really enjoyed Fitz and the Tantrums. They are now on my list of favorite concerts. Great venue for the concert experience. Looking forward to seeing them the next time they roll through Phoenix.
