About

FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS IN CONCERT:

Retro indie-pop group Fitz and the Tantrums are keeping the Motown Sound alive and well with their modern take on classic soul and funk. Combining call-and-response vocals,  backbeat tambourines, and vintage-inspired instrumentation, the band's electric live shows are equal parts shimmy and shake, inspiring nonstop dance parties as fans sing along to infectious pop masterpieces like "MoneyGrabber" and "Out of My League." Riding high on the success of their sophomore album More than Just a Dream, Fitz and the Tantrums are set to treat fans to another round of unforgettable shows on tour in 2014.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Michael Fitzpatrick formed LA-based Fitz and the Tantrums in 2008 after purchasing a Conn electronic organ -- an instrument that would prove vital in the development of the band's retro sound. The group performed their first show just one week after their first rehearsal, underscoring an effortless chemistry that was readily apparent on their 2009 debut EP Songs for a Breakup, Vol. 1. After touring with Maroon 5 and performing at SXSW, the band signed with Dangerbird Records for their 2010 debut LP Pickin' Up the Pieces. The album landed at No. 1 on the Billboard's Heatseekers Albums Chart, establishing the group as one of the most promising rising talents in indie-pop and paving the way for 2013 sophomore effort More than Just  a Dream — a Top 40 hit on the Billboard 200.

FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS IN CONCERT:

"Loved this concert. They were so good -- all their music is so distinct. Excellent musicianship all the way around and TONS of energy."

The whole concert is so high energy, I was dancing the whole time with much of the crowd. They seem like genuine people as well - really appreciative of the fans."

  • Fitz & Tantrums Feb 19 at Paramount, NY

by Pat on 2/21/20Rating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic show! This band is great live. Fitz and Noelle were very high energy and had the whole crowd on our feet, dancing and singing along. Good mix of old and new hits. We love their new album All the Feels so we were glad they played a lot from that. Hope to see them again!

High energy band, and you know more songs than you realize. They did't stop for a second, one great tune after the next. The band is tight and the music is on point.

I’ve seen the band live now 4 times. It’s ALWAYS a blast!!!! Just can’t sit down the entire show. The Fitz, Noel and the band just keep you moving. Special moments as Fitz family was at the show and he brought his kids on stage for the finale during the performance of “The Walker”. Great show!!!!!!

  • Incredible Experience

    by G on 2/20/20The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

First time at the the Anthem for a truly fantastic evening. Reserved seats were great with a private no wait entrance. The opening act Twin XL got the party started and Fitz and the Tantrums delivered a truly incredible performance. Looking for the next show but this will be hard to top.

  • Awesome experience!!

by ThePunk1918 on 2/18/20Sound Waves at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was awesome! The only time I've ever seen Fitz and The Tantrums was when they headlined for One Republic a few years ago at Darien Lake. I love their sound and hope they still come out with more songs/cds!

  • Amazing

This was my first time seeing Fitz & the Tantrums headline and they were incredible! Worth the drive and the wait! The venue was awesome and they are even better live than recorded!

  • Outstanding show by Fitz and The Tantrums!

by Lou on 2/18/20Sound Waves at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

They never disappoint. Fitz and the Tantrums put on an awesome show! And Noelle - what a powerhouse! So full of energy and really got the crowd going. And the venue - Sound Waves at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City is an excellent venue for a show. I'd highly recommend seeing Fitz to anyone considering a fun night out!

  • High Energy

by kmlo on 2/18/20The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

The show was high energy and audience friendly. The group engaged the audience throughout the show encouraging them to sing and feel like part of the show. The play list included songs from all their CD's and the sound was great. Looking forward to seeing them again.

Fitz and the Tantrums put on a great show. It was high energy from start to finish. This was our first time seeing them but it won't be the last. Michael, Noelle and the rest of the band are amazing performers.

  • The show was really great!

    by Antoinette70 on 2/17/20The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Fitz and the Tantrums three times now and this was the first time with them as the headliner. I have lived this band since the beginning and they get better and better. I even enjoyed the opening act, Twin XL, and I never have any luck with enjoying opening acts. Its was a great night and a great way to spend Valentine's Day.

  • Energetic

by GL on 2/17/20The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

These guys bring it when they come to town. I’ve seen them at other venues but must say this was an experience. The Anthem is a great venue and Fitz and the Tantrums delivered. They bring great energy, interact well with the audience and create an experience and not just play music.

  • Not worth the extra $$

by StephGeek on 2/17/20Piedmont Hall (formerly White Oak Event Space) - GreensboroRating: 1 out of 5

This meet/greet with the band was a HUGE disappointment. Completely unorganized and the band seemed uninterested in meeting their fans. While the concert was good, I was very disappointed with the supposed meet and greet which was not at all like previous experiences I have had with other bands. Due to the lack of organization, I missed most of the first band that opened for Fitz and the Tantrums who were very gracious and was available after the concert for pictures, etc.

  • Good performance! Great venue

by Ali on 2/17/20The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

First time at he anthem and it had awesome sound! Sometimes in this area you have venues which sound bad (MGM casino) some that are okay ( capital one arena or jiffy lube) and some that are awesome! (9:30 and anthem!). Well done! Fitz and the tantrums are energetic and have a great sound! I have always liked their music but after their concert and all their hard work I love them!

  • just amazing

    by J. C. on 2/17/20The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

We bought the meet and greet. That was disorganized. They had us go get seats then would have to give them up when the general public came in so that we could do the meet and greet. In the end we chose to keep our seats and payed for something we didnt use. However fitz and the tantrums was amazing! It was such a great feel good experience. Their music is uplifting. Their concert can only be described as something you just have to experience. I liked their music. After the show I love their music. Truly likable people. A ticket I tend to buy every time I have the opportunity!

  • Fitz & the Tantrums

by Cheri on 2/15/20Piedmont Hall (formerly White Oak Event Space) - GreensboroRating: 5 out of 5

Great venue - was an event facility hall in it's prior life and much cooler as a concert venue. Definitely wear flats as the floors are spotless polished concrete and you will be dancing. Fitz and the Tantrums were amazing. They played the venue as if they were in a large arena amongst a 75,000 person crowd. Their light panels and stage presence was large and progressive - very artsy. Although Fitz and the Tantrums are categorized as a "pop" band, they are really more alternative. Think art bands like Talking Heads, Roxy Music or Arcade Fire with a progressive "pop-y" twist of Maroon Five. Simply amazing stage presence, talented musicians and ability to connect with the crowd. I'm so glad I had a chance to see them and look forward to seeing them again!

  • Killer grooves, great energy

by Dallas Fan on 2/12/20House of Blues Dallas presented by Cricket Wireless - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

Fitz and the Tantrums put on a great show. I had forgotten just how many hits they have, and even the new songs I didn't know sounded great. The band exhibits impressive musicianship oh, and their sound is huge. When the concert was over, a lot of people stuck around to take pictures with the confetti on the floor oh, you can tell they didn't want to leave. Everyone had a smile on their face. This is one of those bands that just makes you feel good watching them. Highly recommended!
