FINNEAS on Tour

Music lovers likely first met Finneas via the songs he cowrote and coproduced for his little sister, Billie Eilish. But the man made it into plenty of homes before her rise with his roles in film and TV — particularly as Glee's Alistair — and that charm and professionalism shows during his concerts. He's been known to sport a three-piece suit on stage, and his onstage setup has often also been limited to three pieces: a mic, a guitar and a keyboard rig (which includes backing tracks for his darkly sparkling brand of electronic pop). Even so, Finneas (often stylized as FINNEAS) has no problem inspiring wild screams from his audiences, who come for some combination of his clean-cut handsomeness, velvety voice and diary-like lyrics about love and lust. After the Los Angeles native became a staple of Eilish's shows, he broke out solo to sold-out gigs on the coasts, festival spots galore and a headlining tour named after his debut EP, Blood Harmony.

FINNEAS in Concert

Finneas Baird O'Connell started writing and producing music at the age of 12, and acting shortly thereafter, appearing in movies like the Cameron Diaz flick Bad Teacher and acclaimed indie film Life Inside Out (which starred his actress mother, Maggie Baird). By 2015, as he turned 18, O'Connell's career seemed to be tipping toward the screen: on the one hand he fronted a pop-punk outfit called The Slightlys who'd won several local band battles; on the other, he had a regular role in the final season of Glee. But then he wrote "Ocean Eyes" for his band and, at the last minute, decided it'd sound best sung by his 13-year-old sister. Billie Eilish became a viral sensation as a result, and Finneas' path was cemented. Over the next few years, he'd cowrite and coproduce the dark and inventive music that would make Billie a star while laying the groundwork for his solo sound — a brighter, soulful take on that minimal, electronic-assisted pop. While his many early singles were overshadowed by his work on her essential debut LP, 2019's When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, Finneas climbed the charts along with Billie, sitting atop Billboard's Hot 100 Songwriters and Producers lists for nine weeks. That more than paved the way for the fall 2019 arrival of Finneas' proper debut, the Blood Harmony EP, named after the sound that siblings can achieve while singing together.

I absolutely loved the show and the venue!

    by P. S. on 12/16/219:30 CLUB - Washington

The only negative was that the show started late due to checking vaccination cards. A more streamlined, faster process would be nice. The show was amazing and Finneas is a fantastic, charismatic performer.

Finneas was awesome 🤩 - very engaging and charismatic and really connected with the audience. Everyone sang along and it was pretty special. Didn’t really enjoy having to wait outside in the rain for SO long before the show - ugh!! but it was worth it in the end🙂

by Amazing Grace -- concert goer for life on 11/24/21The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Wow!! What an incredible show last Sunday at the Danforth Music Hall. FINNEAS WAS ON FIRE!! What a star!! Class all the way. Unreal song writer, performed and delivered each song like it was an early Christmas gift given to the audience. His music is unique and his charisma is off the charts. Can't wait to see him in concert again and again. And again. And Again.

    Astonishing performance, opener needed improvement

by Nathan on 11/24/21The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Finneas is an amazing performer. He had amazing visuals, amazing vocals, outstanding live renditions of his songs from his most recent album (Optimist) and his previous works. The energy was amazing and I’d love to see him again. However, one thing I’d note is that his opener was extremely difficult to hear as the instrumentals washed out his vocals a lot. Even for people at the front of the crowd, they had difficulty understanding what he was singing because he was so washed out. I hope for his next tour they work on making sure their opening act is more clear but that’s nothing against the performer!

    Phenomenal performance

by Chaperone New Fan on 11/24/21The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Everything at the venue was done well from check in to check out. The opening act was great and Finneas was a spectacular performer. Even this 53 year old mother of a teen fan, enjoyed the talent from these young performers.

    AMAZING …..but the venue tho….

by Jess on 11/24/21The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

This review has NOTHING to do with Finneas because he was absolute perfection. However, the venue (Danforth Music Hall, Toronto, Ontario, Canada) has massive room for improvement. Absolutely no where prior to thr event was it mentioned that Finneas would take the stage at 9pm. The tickets stated that the show would begin at 7pm, however this ended up being the time the doors opened. Half way through our 5pm dinner, we decided to check the DMH Instagram where they had posted a STORY of the show times for the evening. It is insane to me that this was not communicated ANYWHERE on the tickets, or in any of the emails prior to the show. This resulted in hundreds of people waiting in an abhorrently long, hour and half line outdoors in November. Things like this can totally be expected due to COVID, but for there to be ZERO communication about these details from the venue or Ticketmaster made it for a very frustrating experience.

    Incredible and enthralling experience

by Ruby on 11/24/21Théâtre Corona - Montreal

I can't begin to express how astonishing this concert was! It was my first time seeing Finneas perform solo, and let me tell you he surpassed any expectations I might have had. The security and the organization of the event was perfectly executed, making it an enjoyable and easy experience. The venue was the perfect size, and the lighting and sound of the show was inSANE. The opener, marinelli, was also a hit, hyping up the crowd the perfect amount. Finneas was not only a great performer, but also created a valuable and personal connection with the audience, making the experience that much more memorable. I can't wait until I get to see Finneas and marinelli again in the future!

NO WORDS! SO MOVING, FUNNY, INTELLECTUAL, PLAIN AWESOME!

by Bee Lorem on 11/23/21Théâtre Corona - Montreal

Even if you arrived on time you could get a good spot. I think I could have gotten close to the front but we found a place near then rails in front of the bar behind the sound. The opening was done by Marinelli who had a very funny entrance, plus there was a picture of him on a towel in his Montreal Hotel going around, he pointed it out. His music was quite interesting I liked Father's son. Then Finneas made us wait with jungle sounds that the crowd began to imitate. We had fun being crazy. The Finneas came in to kick it of with A concert six months from now, my sister and I were talking about how deep that song was on the way to the show, it is really so true how planning and relationships interlace. Finneas danced on top of his piano, laid down on the piano too, jumped from the piano, wore a cowboy hat and complained about the weather 😂. He was just plain awesome. He made us jump like crazy during the 90s. Just a show not to forget in a lifetime. I met live my colleague fan Bilswords and we hugged. So a night to remember! Medival was mon coup de coeur and now I can't stop streaming it! Plus Finneas liked my video on tiktok so what else can I say! An amazing artist!

    Amazing concert + venue

by Pao on 11/23/21House of Blues Boston - Boston

Went to the Boston show at House of Blues and could not be happier with the experience. The venue lacked a little coordination when letting us know at what time to get there but the process of getting inside was very smooth and fast!! Everyone was super nice too. The concert itself was AMAZING. Finneas is such a great performer and everyone vibes from start to finish. Marinelli, the opener was also extremely good and funny. Thanks LiveNation, Ticketmaster, and Finneas!!
