About

FALSETTOS revolves around the life of a charming, intelligent, neurotic gay man named Marvin, his wife, his lover, his about-to-be-Bar-Mitzvahed son, their psychiatrist, and the lesbians next door. It’s a hilarious and achingly poignant look at the infinite possibilities that make up a modern family... and a beautiful reminder that love can tell a million stories.

William Finn and James Lapine’s groundbreaking 1990s Tony Award-winning musical comes back to Broadway this fall in an all new production from Lincoln Center Theater. Lapine returns to direct an extraordinary cast featuring Christian Borle, Stephanie J. Block, Andrew Rannells, Anthony Rosenthal, Tracie Thoms, Brandon Uranowitz, and Betsy Wolfe.

The Walter Kerr Theater Box Office is open Monday through Saturday, 10am to 8pm; Sunday, Noon to 6pm. Tickets will not be sold at the Lincoln Center Theater Box Office. Tickets may also be bought over the phone by calling Ticketmaster at 800-982-2787.

    EMOTIONAL, CLEVER, BRILLIANTLY DONE!

by BwaySimon on 10/31/16Walter Kerr Theatre - New York

Saw Falsettos during previews and going to see again in December. I laughed a lot and cried a lot. Heard about it but wasn't entirely familiar with this show from the 90's not knowing what to expect going in. I absolutely LOVED EVERY SECOND of this show! The end of Act 2 is very sad! The songs are cleverly written and tunefully memorable. The cast is sublime and perfection in every way they interact with each other. Stephanie Block was amazing bringing down the house in "Breaking Down", wow! But the one person who I couldn't stop thinking about days after the show was Mendel, the psychiatrist played by Brandon Uranowitz. Great natural comedic timing WHILE HE SUNG HIS ENTIRE PART but also warm hearted in his neurotic, sweet portrayal of the nebbish family shrink and stepfather to Jason. Mendel literally stole the show! The little boy was excellent. Not over the top obnoxious and was very believable in a complicated role. Kudos! Oh, bring tissues!!!!!

Heartfelt musical will leave you in tears

by lenny18 on 10/31/16Walter Kerr Theatre - New York

l loved this musical more than I can put into words. The music and lyrics were brilliant, as well as the cast that performed the piece. Particularly, Ms. Stephanie J. Block and Mr. Andrew Rannells had me in hysterics and tears multiple times throughout the course of the evening. A wonderful, tearful show for anyone who adores a good, complex family story. Would see again and again.

An evening filled with laughter, songs, and tears!

by Djhill86 on 10/31/16Walter Kerr Theatre - New York

A wonderful story set around a non traditional family and the events that take place after the father decides to live his life as a gay man. Some events endearing, shocking, funny, steamy, and sad.

    Falsettos

by Selema on 10/29/16Walter Kerr Theatre - New York

I absolutely loved every minute of this show. I am talking it up to everyone I know. The talent was superb, and the story was brilliantly portrayed. I laughed and then at the end I cried because I recently suffered a loss. Kudoa to the writer………………………………………… I loved every minute of this play. Haven't experienced anything so brilliant in a long time. The story was beautifully written, and portrayed exceptionally well. Let's not forget about the music. I laughed a lot and then cried at the end. Unbelievably touching.

    Vibrant, infectious production

by Ideni on 10/29/16Walter Kerr Theatre - New York

Enjoyed this revival almost as much as the original production 25 years ago--the score is unforgettable, and the lyrics are smart. Terrific performances all around. Only drawback was the set design--while I get that the blocks are supposed to represent a family's building, breaking down, and reinventing their lives together, figuring out how the actors are going to juxtapose the blocks from scene to scene is distracting and breaks the momentum of the show. Still, it's been 4 days, and I'm still humming the music. Definitely see this production.
